Maiden still touring and still selling out arena's & stadiums globally... just saw them yet again a few weeks back here in New York.. one of the true bands still out there
I (female,18) just discovered them a month ago and I am SOO excited to be able to see them live next year !!! I obviously knew some of their songs before but now I am an even bigger fan !
@charlottewitt4255 thats awesome you will absolutely love it, most of us in our 50's & 60's have been seeing them since we were 15 & 16 so lets say we are loud but not as crazy as we once were lolol
@KatetheGreat0521 The World Slavery Tour back in the 80's which they ended up producing Live After Death my favorite live album... the other would be in 2000 with the return of Bruce for their Brave New World tour at Madison Square Garden... Queensryche & Rob Halford opened for them.. I believe it is such an underated album but one of my favorites aside from POM & NOTB
Kate I know that this video has other drummer, Clive Burr, but until last Saturday, their current drummer, Nicko McBrain who played drums for Iron Maiden for 42 years. Nicko replaced Clive in 1982. Clive and Steve Harris, founder of IM, were at odds with each other. Nicko joined IM for their Piece of Mind album and tour. Nicko announced that he is retiring from touring. But Nicko stated that he still with Iron Maiden in other projects. Iron Maiden already announced his replacement yesterday Up with Irons! Up with Nicko!
@KatetheGreat0521 and Steve Harris is the bass player in the vid, the one wearing black and white top. Bruce Dickenson is the singer, he replaced Paul di'Anno, who sadly died a few weeks back.
They brought metal into this world and by god they're going to take it out of this world, lol. Don't take the comment too seriously, obviously there were other NWOBHM bands.
Second time I saw Maiden was on this tour, just a few days before this performance when they played in Bristol in the UK. They were, as always, incredible 🤘
remember getting a 4 video vhs for christmas when i was 9 . must have watched it a million times. then in 1984 my brother took me to see the Powerslave tour at Radio City music hall. hard first concert to top . Will always be number one in my heart and till I take my dirt nap
Steve Harris is the bassist in the striped shirt. The singer is Bruce Dickinson, one of metals great vocalist. Best live band ever. This was 1982 and they just finished a tour. Oh, and just so you know...never, ever, call Maiden a hair band lol.
Steve Harris is the bass guitarist, and Bruce Dickinson is the vocalist. Legendary band, and legendary song! Happy you heard it and really fun reaction too!
I love love love! Your enthusiasm for this video. If more and more people shared this enthusiasm, metal might have more representation in the Super Bowl halftimes. Great job! I’m now a subscriber of yours 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I recommend the songs Rime of the ancient mariner and Revelations from their 2008 tour Flight 666. And read the lyrics. Mariner is based on a poem, first published around 1798😊
It’s so fun watching new reactions to heavy metal music, and in particular Iron Maiden. If you haven’t already, try and catch their Run For Your Lives tour… Maiden is incredible to witness live performance. I’d love to catch your analysis of Hell On Earth. IMHO it’s an absolute masterpiece.
What's an amazing thing this was when Bruce Dickinson the lead singer just joined the band the song was not released yet it was on the number of the beast album which was due out in like 2 months this beautiful was recorded when I was 20 1982 give anything to go back to be in 20 again
When I feel like I wish I was 20 again, I just think about when I'll be 80 wishing I was my current age now lol. Sometimes it helps- other times I still wish I was 20 lol.
Band Members: Bruce Dickinson ~ Vocals Steve Harris ~ Bass Adrian Smith ~ Guitar Dave Murray ~ Guitar Nicko McBrain ~ Drums (although it was Clive Burr is this line up) Also, a 3rd Guitarist has been added to the line up, and his name is Jenick Gers. Great reaction, you should definitely watch Rime of the Ancient Mariner from flight 666 concert it is mind blowing. ##UpTheIrons 🤘🏻
I think that for a older man (became 66 years old on august 7 / 2024) and the fact that he has gone through cancer of the tongue and lymph nodes, then he sounds great, don't you agree? Bruce Dickinson is an ICON and so is the rest of the band members of Iron Maiden, he has great breath control and voice control. One thing that makes his voice even better, that is if you realize that he had cancer of the tongue and lymph nodes. A lump “the size of a golf ball” was found on the back of his tongue and still he can sing like that, wow right? Dickinson had the tumor removed in 2015. Since then, he’s noticed a world of difference. “When it went away, I guess there's a lot more space for the sound come out!,” the front man proclaimed. “Not to put too fine a point on it, but there's no more obstruction in the way, you know? So yeah, with the high notes I was like, ‘Wow! Whoosh!’ There's a lot more horsepower in some of the high notes, which is interesting.” Not to bad by a older guy, you might want to read about his tongue and lymph nodes cancer, right, so here is the link to it: faroutmagazine.co.uk/bruce-dickinson-iron-maiden-cancer-battle-im-lucky/ . Knowing that he is over 60 years here and the he already had cancer of the tongue and lymph nodes, that makes his voice even more amazing, right? Bruce is also a licesend Pilot and a really good Fencer !!
Please always react to Iron Maiden live! They are a live band and their energy even to this day is amazing. They are still filling stadiums and are on a world tour at the moment.
Nah, studio versions are good too and represent the art the band wanted their audience to hear. Don't take that away. Live versions are good as well. I would suggest that if you come accross a song you particulaaly like. Consider listening to both versions.
Bruce is an amazing live performer, but his highest notes are typically on the studio recordings. If that matters to you, then you have to hear the studio versions. But, their live shows are also ridiculously good. Can’t go wrong with this band.
If you’re new to an artist I always recommend studio first and then you can better appreciate live. Some are better live than studio. Others are different but equally good. Some are worse.
GREATEST METAL BAND EVER! JUST SAW THEM IN CHARLOTTE NOVEMBER FOR THE 11TH TIME! ALL ORIGINAL MEMBERS! THE DRUMMER NIKO IS RETIRING AFTER THIS TOUR. WILL BE TOURING AGAIN 2025-2026 PLAYING ALL THE BIG SONGS! NO BACK TRACKS, THESE GUYS ARE STILL LIVE AND SOUND AWESOME! GET YOUR TICKETS BABY!
So the "main guy" as you put it was the singer Bruce Dickinson. Steve Harris was the bassist who was singing a long as he was playing. I'd recommend listening to dance of death - en Vivo version Fear of the dark - rock in rio 2001 or en Vivo Run to the hills - rock in rio 2001 Number of the beast - rock in rio 2001 Book of souls - download 2016 Rime of the ancient mariner - flight 666 Aces high - flight 666 Wasted years - flight 666 There's probably a ton of stuff I've missed but I'm struggling to think right now
The forearm thing is a vambrace, I believe. Bruce Dickinson is the singer. Steve Harris is the bassist and founder of the band. They are both in the conversation for greatest metal musicians of their type. The rest of the band is also pretty legendary. The double solos Dave and Adrian do are amazing! And, Nicko on drums has always been amazing. He is just stepping down now after 42 years in the band. Curious to see who jumps in next.
Iron Maiden Killers The Number of the Beast Piece of Mind Powerslave Somewhere in Time Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Seven consecutive albums of pure greatness.
This performance looks like the 80’s you want a good contrast, watch the same song from I believe rock in rio. Around 09’ huge difference. I think their live performances have gotten better over time. It’s amazing after like 30+years that they still have such amazing energy!!!!!!
Thank you- I did not even realize that. I'm going to go back and read the lyrics. I love songs that have a journey of lyrics like that. What a relatable topic.
Not a bad reaction. I went to your page and noticed there were no Stevie Ray Vaughn that you've reacted to. Texas Flood would be a great start for you.

Yes...the internet needs another reaction video to this song.

After joining Bruce beating cancer Niko has earned his retirement.
This is at London Hammersmith Odeon(1982) , the debut of the album, so it's the crowds first time hearing this too.
Cool! This is one of the best live metal performances!
That is really cool to know. I bet they were losing their minds (well clearly they are based on the video evidence!). lol
Still one of the best metal bands that survived the 90's. 👍🤘🍻
I like how you format your video in the background. Nicely done, excellent reaction
Thank you! I'll tell my editor (I can't take the credit!) lol
Live metal performance at its finest! It doesn't get much better than this, if it does at all!
It was amazing!
Saw them several times as a teen . The singer Bruce is a licensed pilot and flies their private commercial size airplane .
Are you serious?!? That's so awesome- thanks for sharing!
Well according to comments to other reactors Bruce no longer fly Ed Force One as there's an age restriction on how old you can be.
Still touring 49 years later.
They are true legends.
The rabbit hole is very deep ...
UP THE IRONS !
Indeed they are!
They brought metal into this world and by god they're going to take it out of this world, lol. Don't take the comment too seriously, obviously there were other NWOBHM bands.
This is just ABSOLUTE..greatness you are witnessing
I could tell! It was incredible!!! Thanks for the comment.
@KatetheGreat0521 Where Eagles Dare..epic
@@russellsisson2638 Thanks for the recommendation!

Rime of the Anient Mariner got me through Junior Honors English and Alexander the Great helped me pass Western Civ in the 80's!
That's amazing! lol
I’m so sure
Bruce Dickinson, lead singer, was a professional soccer player.
Now a team owner.
Great voice 😊
I think your info is incorrect. He was however a champion in fencing. He is also currently a pilot and he flies the bands Boeing 747.
I believe it was Blace, who replaced Bruce for two albums, that was the soccer player. Steve plates also.
You can't beat this line up ! Bruce D - vocals, Steve - Bass, Adrian and Dave - Guitars, mighty Clive Burr on Drums ! xx
Thank you for clarifying who's who!
I saw maiden in 87 somewhere in time tour. Still best show ever seen and one of my favorite bands.
Steve Harris is the bassist in the striped shirt. The singer is Bruce Dickinson, one of metals great vocalist. Best live band ever. This was 1982 and they just finished a tour. Oh, and just so you know...never, ever, call Maiden a hair band lol.
I'll remember that they are NOT a hair band. lol Thanks for the tip!
Hardly the best live band ever, but nice try fan boy.

I saw them for the first time last October. Iron Maiden is one of the few bands where the live versions are as good if not better than studio version.

This song is about the journey of greif and acceptence. Every stanza is one of the stages.
Thank you- I did not even realize that. I'm going to go back and read the lyrics. I love songs that have a journey of lyrics like that. What a relatable topic.
