In pharma and biotech industry, Phd is not preferable. It’s preferable for only R&D department that to maximum 5 to 10 positions, if you join in QA or QC after competition of your MSc , your salary will be near about 6 to 8L by the time your completing your phd

@@Thechubbygirl_27 no , it's difficult to get a job now a days many companies are not hiring freshers they want experience so if you're deciding to do msc biotechnology just plan for any intership when you're in last year it might help you a little to get a job because biotechnology course don't provide industrial training for example a nursing student is getting experience in their work while studying because they're getting intership in hospital and it's same with hotel management but it's not like this in biotech or microbiology
To hold any such positions like research associate or senior or junior research fellow they ask for a minimum 2-3 years experience and/or atleast a net gate qualification. For MSc fresher with no govt exams no industry or hospital setting is going to give more than 15-20k. Also, hospitals these days generally ask for BMLT or DMLT and production line in industry requires b pharm or m pharm degree. As a fresher in life sciences you can expect to get a job most probably in the QC/QA sector or go for BPO type stuff (where salary expectations can be higher)
Right. Colleges need to do something here. They must provide at least a chance to the students for internships. Their job is not only to prepare students for syllabus but to prepare them for job

I have some concerns in you conclusion , there is no difference between pharma and biotech companies, it’s different based on the company standard, in india apart from Biocon there no any other fully established biotech companies, all others are still in development stage only, and production and manufacturing is not at all preferring phd for their, production, or QA QC department, if you wants to work in pharmaceutical or biotech industry in manufacturing units, phd is not required, if you wants to work in R&D then you can opt for phd, otherwise MSc is enough.

After BSc you can do MBA, after msc you can do MBA as well

Sir, i have heard about the colourful opportunities and wide range of scope available in microbiology stream before taking bsc. Microbiology. But after a year of my course I got to know that in india microbiology is not that much flourishing subject as compared to UK, Germany, Netherland ect. And very less amount of jobs are available with only Msc Or Phd degree. I am really very much confused and worried regarding this. @@Thechubbygirl_27 no , it's difficult to get a job now a days many companies are not hiring freshers they want experience so if you're deciding to do msc biotechnology just plan for any intership when you're in last year it might help you a little to get a job because biotechnology course don't provide industrial training for example a nursing student is getting experience in their work while studying because they're getting intership in hospital and it's same with hotel management but it's not like this in biotech or microbiology

To hold any such positions like research associate or senior or junior research fellow they ask for a minimum 2-3 years experience and/or atleast a net gate qualification. For MSc fresher with no govt exams no industry or hospital setting is going to give more than 15-20k. Also, hospitals these days generally ask for BMLT or DMLT and production line in industry requires b pharm or m pharm degree. As a fresher in life sciences you can expect to get a job most probably in the QC/QA sector or go for BPO type stuff (where salary expectations can be higher)
Right. Colleges need to do something here. They must provide at least a chance to the students for internships. Their job is not only to prepare students for syllabus but to prepare them for job

I have some concerns in you conclusion , there is no difference between pharma and biotech companies, it’s different based on the company standard, in india apart from Biocon there no any other fully established biotech companies, all others are still in development stage only, and production and manufacturing is not at all preferring phd for their, production, or QA QC department, if you wants to work in pharmaceutical or biotech industry in manufacturing units, phd is not required, if you wants to work in R&D then you can opt for phd, otherwise MSc is enough.
