- Hello everyone! This here is a collection of La Cucaracha demos that were streamed by Dean Ween quite a few years ago. I kept them in the exact order in which they were played. The main difference between these and the ones I had already posted to the channel is that they are far less compressed. Even songs such as Leave Deaner Alone have more high-end frequencies, so if you would like to hear these songs in the best quality possible, please take a listen! Brittany is such a nice song. I wish that, Light Me Up, I Got to Put the Hammer Down, and Sweetheart in the Summer were on the final album.
I know I missed a few more.
Hearing a song like ‘Thanks and Praises’ makes me sit here in amazement over how Gener can do all these different voices and at times not even sound like himself. He’s got to be the most underrated singer in modern music history. Absolute amazing chameleon of a singer who sounds incredible no matter what voice he uses.
Ween Archived is single handedly keeping the Ween scene alive. You guys rock!!
Last year I had one of the most strange, heavy and intense years of my life, and at the beginning of my healing phase, I rediscovered ween for myself. And that time literally changed my life. My whole mindset is now different, but in a good way and the first time in my life, I really feel "like myself". At the end of last year I turned 30 and now it feels like I've finally finished the tutorial and I can play this little game like I want to.

I'd been a Ween fan for YEARS before I finally became consumed by obsession. It happened during a really difficult and intense time of transition as well. They're there for your lowest lows and highest highs, and everything in betWEEN

@@floepiejane so after 2 weeks (not only) of thinking about that question, I can definitely say... that there is no one and only answer for this. I think it's many aspects combined.
- my understanding of music was "leveled up"
- my view on life got a bit more cynical, but also much more open and more humorous
- their browness
- they have such great earworms haha
- that I'm not alone with my pain
- Gene has such a beautiful voice with such an extremely wide range, it's simply wonderful

Had to stop just short of Thoughts and Praises to say how cool this is, especially all the different vocal stylings he nails.
Blue Balloon > Kite Flying Man > Thanks Praises > Fruit Man. Would have been great … all songs are insane and go great with La Cucaracha…. I loved that album
i wish kite flying man would have been on there in place of shamemaker ;( the WORST ween song, TO ME anyways. Also spirtwalker would have been awesome but that autotune ruins everything. "Leave Deaner alone: on there would have been cool too, great compliment to with my own bare hands

HONESSTLY though. I dont even hate La Cucaracha.. its good for what it is I guess... But its not my cup of tea. These songs are pretty rad so far though.

Each week over the past decade I have listened to Ween as I put together our community's 2 local newspapers, and every week I am blown away by the depth of their sound. Never gets boring and I'm always wanting more. Thanks for sharing!

Financially speaking I'm sure they wish they could tour less. And make more records. The records aren't profitable like they were at the peak of their career. Bands have to rely on touring in March sales to get bands have to rely on touring in March sales to bands have to rely on touring, merch sales to get by.
Mickey specifically complained about how when they were younger they figured by this time in their career they would be able to tour less and record more. But by the time they actually got to that point in their career the finances were twisted on their head and they had to take the reverse course.
So now despite being almost mid-fifties they got to go on the road and stay at middling hotels instead.
I remember they were playing Leave Deaner Alone for a while, but I haven’t heard the rest of these songs! Thank you!

How, how is the Ween discography so massive?
The demon god instructed them to create thousands of songs in his name
Part of it is just because they've literally been in a band together for 40 years. Especially in the early years just using a four-track.... And the lo-fi sound being a selling point.
But yeah even accounting for all those variables the output is absolutely amazing. Especially when you consider they haven't recorded songs together since 2007 or whatever.

Wait what?? Some of these look like legit lossless files. Where did these come from? Where are all the other tracks that are always lumped in with the Cucaracha demos like The Wolfman?
Yeah, all the files are lossless! And the other tracks like The Wolfman are also La Cuc demos however are not part of the La Cuc Sessions that Deaner played. Like how I’ll Wait is a Mollusk demo but isn’t from “The Mollusk Sessions” itself
