It's so funny how people can feel so differently about a book. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I really felt for Grace and was so happy when she was able to pull off the ending. Love listening to your view on it though!! Excited for the next review!

1 star?! I read this book when it first came out and really liked it!

I gave the book 5 stars - wow, so opposite, and yet I can understand what you felt, and didn't, about the novel. But I loved it. Millie was the difference for me. If Grace hadn't had her to consider, there would have been no reason for her to not try harder to escape. And her having kids with Jack would not have been believable, unless she had already been pregnant when they married. Given how soon he switched into psychopath mode, she wouldn't have had a kid with him, unless she was also a psychopath. I thought Esther was a good character. And I loved the ending, but won't discuss specifics, because of spoilers. I enjoyed your review, even though we had opposite opinions. ❤

I love your book club! I have to agree, I just didn’t connect with this one either. I was just waiting the whole time for something huge to happen, but that never happened. Loving these videos!

Ok not a younger book, but i highly recomend, Redemption Road and The Best Friend. These are two great thriller books and completely mysterious untill the end. I think you would like these.

I strongly recommend “Lone Wolf” by Jodi Picoult or “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky! Those are my all-time favorite books.

Hey Candi! You should read "13 Reasons Why"! I think Karli mentioned in a OFN video that she was going to read it and I think it would be fun if you guys read it and did a review on that book together! And if you have watched the show on Netflix, you should compare the book with the show.

You should read Deadline by Chris Crutcher!!! It’s so good and so unpredictable. I also enjoyed reading looking for Alaska by John Green and we are okay by Nina Lacour!

I don't think the story is meant to be a biopic of their life that dives deep into their characters. The writer was obviously more focused on the suspense of the current action. It's supposed to be the type of story that takes you on a quick ride. Personally I loved it, finished it in a day. Especially loved the ending, the simplicity, the acknowledgement to the red room, sealed the book perfectly. Also don't think it's fair to say no one is going to go out and buy it just because you didn't like it lol.

Candi I was watching some of your older videos like your makeup collection and you should put a box or box’s together and do like a giveaway with the stuff you don’t use or want!
I would love to have that kind of stuff, I’m a mom of 3 and I CAN NOT afford makeup or hair care products like at all!
    And I’m 24!
    Just a thought ❤️
Love “candiland” and just subscribed to you☺️
Right now I’m readin a book called what light by jay asher, so far it’s pretty good! It’s so crazy though because it’s about a girl named sierra which is my name and a boy Caleb which is my husbands name and they are in high school and “hopefully fall in love” 😂
I haven’t read far enough yet, but it’s just so crazy because we’re HS sweethearts! I was the first and only girl he ever liked.. but it’s weird reading a book with both our names in it and they’re like a “couple” ☺️❤️
    Love you Candi!

I'm only a few chapters in and I don't like it...but I'll finish it. It's just so predictable...and I feel like I've heard this story so many times before. Woman falls for charming man...marry..he becomes abusive...she escapes. blah blah blah. Won't recommend it.
