  • Exploring Johor Jaya Night Market Food Street. Is Malaysian food tastier than Singaporean food? How much cheaper is street food in Johor compared to Singapore? Let's try it out to know the answer.
We filmed the cooking process of food like Laksa, Rojak, Lok Lok skewers, Char Kway Teow, Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun, Carrot Cake, and grilled chicken wings at Johor Jaya Night Market Food Street. We also bought Kway Teow Kia, Thai-style pork leg, BBQ chicken wings, and Penang Nyonya curry with fragrant leaf rice and tried them ourselves.
We found that the quality and taste of street food at JB food street are quite similar to the food in Singapore's coffee shops and hawker centers, and the price difference is minimal-just a little cheaper. It doesn't really make sense to go to JB specifically just to eat street food. But walking around the night market is more about soaking in the atmosphere, something you can't really experience in Singapore.
Next time, we plan to try small restaurants, like 三楼 or 榕树下的Kway Teow Kia, to see if it tastes better.
