Honestly the only character who needs character development is us literally. I know they said that they'll update the characters, but personally I think it should be one of the major goals for 2020
Definitely, I hope they will update our characters too in within at least three years, our characters has not even facial animations or expressions. Also I would love to have as an option to choose different style of bodies ❤️
I agree but it's a big task. You would have to change all the clothes,hair, animations etc. But I think it's worth it just will take time to do for all we know they could be working on it.
they're gonna update that too at some point, but I think that's one of the last things they update because they have to update all the hairstyles and clothes and animations and everything along with it, as well as to make a lot of different custumization options
I as well kinda dislike how the sso team takes any "mean" character and turns them good. Like with Loretta or Anne. I wish they'd stayed with the old Anne and would make her develop better personality in the process of the story, it would make her much more likable for me. With Lisa... I get the skin colour. She's from Texas, of course she'll be more tan than others. :D Also I think the rock music made her seem too rebellious, and since Alex is now the rebellious one, they had to make Lisa different. She seems softer and more emotional, still felling deep pain inside her. Overall I feel like SST is making the characters more relatable to the players. Alex is the one with bad family, Anne is living up to her parents dreams, Lisa had traumatic loss and Linda is nerdy fangirl. Also now we have Catherine - the lonely, socially awkward girl that no one likes. I'm not sure if all this was a good thing. I personally don't care about relating to any of these, but I see younger girls finding themselves in them and feeling powerful and like they have someone who gets them, which is what the whole game is about. fEmaLe HeRoIsM xd
Finally someone who sees it like I do! I really wish they had Anne be a bit more on the pretty, popular mean-ish girl. Maybe not completely mean, but a bit more vain. It would make Anne a bit... less Mary Sue you could say. I’m not saying that she is, but I feel like her being the rich, popular, beautiful girl who can get anything she wants but is also is really nice and loved by all but the villains is a bit Mary Sue to me. Even with the villains taking her. I feel like if she was a bit more on the vain side, then she’d be a bit more human. THEN she could develop on becoming a bit less self prideful and more modest.
gosh i really miss the old lisa and anne...tbh i would love the new lisa if only she wasn't supposed to be...lisa. if it was a whole new character i would adore her, but it feels like they robbed her of her iconic design and personality. also, i wish they were more straightforward about anne being mean... i mean, since she's always strived for perfection, its only natural that she would be mean and overly critical. it ties into a big part of her character to me
I agree with giving Lisa a 3 because she does look and is SOOOOOOOO different from before, what happened to the rock star Lisa? She changed to some country chick.
I saw an analysis about Anne on tumblr. It was about how she is vain and self-obsessed but she is also a good friend who is always there for the other soul riders, and how playing down her vanity and taking away her confidence weakens her character, because so what if a girl is like that? So what if she looks good and she knows it?
I don't get why they made Lisa's songs like they are, she was clearly a rock star.. I also wish they didn't completely change them. Like they could have made the old outfits prettier and more of today's fashion but I wish we could still see the some of the old outfit, does anyone get what I mean?? Also I really miss Starshine's mane, it was special, just like all of the horses but now they are "normal".
I'm personally okay with them changing the outfits as long as it still reflects who they are, but the way I see it they have failed to do so with Lisa and (partly) Linda. Lisa was straight up robbed while Linda just kinda feels off to me...
With Lisa´s history i didn´t really understand why she ever was like that, like a rockstar and no emotions really. Her backstory is nowvmatching her appearance i think
I’m not sure if I’m the only one but. I feel like the story at times treats our character like an extra. And I know they are new to the soul riders but they made it a big deal that we had the powers and were important yet they only focus on the main 4 and we are just someone who do most of the dirty work. This may be a unpopular opinion but I feel like our characters should get more appreciation and stuff. Cuz the story was based around a new girl coming in and having these amazing abilities but there are times where the soul riders bond and use magic and leave our characters out of the moment. Might just be me tho. I also believe they changed Lisa way to much and it feels like she’s SSO favorite. I love her DONT get me wrong I relate to her so much and she was my favorite for a long time but I don’t like how they made her this new county girl. Nothing against it, it’s just not Lisa. Like the video said she was a rock star, I don’t know why they had to change that so much. I just don’t find Lisa as relatable as she used to be.
I know this comment is old, but you are right, I'm just experiencing the game, and with saving New Lisa it really shows "aww thanks for help, aren't you cute! Now out of my way kid I'll show you how REAL Soul Raiders do things." And when Sabine was talking about the legitimate perspective of us replacing Anne, I felt that although this was something Soul Raiders should consider, at lest for the time being when there is no way for us to safely rescue Anne, they never did. When you think about it they actually treat us just like Bobcats do, "You are an honorary member! Oh, you think we will treat you like part of the team? that's cute. You are just our a glorified errand girl.", only Bobcats have enough balls to tell this to us to our face, and Soul Raiders streacht up manipulate us "you are some, you are great, now do the dirty work for us". Not to mention Soul Raiders always rumble about how we are friends, but I don't feel this, I feel like they are friends, and I am an outsider at best, their handy little slave at worse. Is this the way the incarnation of Adeen supposed to be treated (yes, this is still canon to me dammit, also easy fix for having multiple characters being able to master all four circles, say that Adeen's soul was fragmented after some sort of battle, this would also explain how different "hosts" can be completely different people, sorta like us being different from Katheryn, and would still make us special, not some Joe-shmowe who was accidentally tangled into action, and just happened to be able to use all four circles, and now knows too much, so we have to keep her around) ? This makes me actually dislike those characters, and because I don't have any prevus attachment to than I don't feel bad for hating them.
They did Lisa dirty. I like her new character’s look but I wish they kept her old style and personality. She’s very mediocre and I feel like these girls should stand out and it’s okay if they’re misfits! They really softened her character and I think that’s really a shame. So what if new players are surprised by a punk rocker? It breaks down stereotypes and opens the door for acceptance. I also feel like some of her new songs could have been better.... they are pretty cheesy and come up at odd times. I feel like they should be more raw and acoustic! I genuinely enjoyed the miscreant’s music released on the app and I wish they could let Lisa make some similar styled tunes. Her music doesn’t even sound country (but if they do move to country sound in the future I pray it’s not country pop). Overall I think they were trying to increase variety in the soul rider group and distinguish Lisa from the miscreants, but making Lisa edgy and Alex a bit rebellious is not the same! They had key differences in their personalities and in their style and were totally different. Lisa has more of the put together and stand out style while Alex is just laid back and confidently herself.
Yeah I'm with you here, the new Lisa has shocked and disappointed me. I didn't even know much of anything about Lisa in Starshine Legacy or Star Academy before playing SSO, besides the idea that she was an oddly nice, but partly stereotypical punk-rock gal. After the change, I wanted to know more about her, and after some research the message was clear that she tried to make a difference & spread love in the world with her music despite her appearance, which really put me into perspective of not judging a person by their looks if they truly meant well. Like the tom-boyish, confident, peaceful and chill until provoked Alex being fit for the Warrior role of a soul rider... Like nerdy, helpful, caring, wise, and encouraging Linda being fit for the Moon soul rider, the one who understands and remembers the past but still has hope for the future despite horrific visions... And like the slightly snobbish, vain, and prideful but still considerate, uplifting, and generally good-natured Anne, being fit for the Sun soul rider of Time and Space, who despite going through heck and back several times (Pandoria), still tries to stay in the present as the Anne who has not just seen nightmares or dreams beyond imagination (this is coming from SSL, I haven't came to the Anne quest in SSO yet so I may be wrong abt her bckstory)... But I digress; Seeing the new Lisa have a background of a country life and sticking with it just doesn't give off the same message, I think... Or if it's meant to, it's not as strong...meaningful...at least to me. In my opinion, she became de-characterized, gone for the classical country-girl trope...it's a bit too traditional for my liking. The old Lisa made sense; she was part of a team of unlikely friends and heroes, her passionate singing fit into her role as the soul rider of life and healing, since music practically livens people up; but now it just seems like the 3 soul riders, and another Josh :/
I can see Linda be a potterhead... like the second she finds out about magic that her head goes full Harry Potter mode. Oh gods that sounds amazing! #Potterheads
I do not like how SSO took some of the "meaner" characters and made them "nice" like Loretta for example. Although, I really do like the new Lisa, Anne, Linda, and Alex models.
So... i was trying to get over the changes, but Starshine legacy was my childhood. I replayed the games alot, even recently so I got attached to the old soul riders. When i found out that Starstable is continuing with this lore i was so happy. I've played SSO for 8 years so after they changed the soul riders my reaction wasn't good. In my opinion they don't feel like their own selves, even the horses. Overall they feel like completely different characters, looks like they switched the skin tones between Anne and Lisa lol, Anne used to be more tan in Starshine legacy and the personalities? I'm speechless... Well anyway i should probably get over it since it's their game and their story. It's just a bit sad for me to see the characters i grew up with get changed into something different. I can't even choose a favorite soul rider 'cause i dont like any of them, haha, ir used to be Linda and I looved Meteor. But this new Linda kind of acts like a weird fangirl. These are just my opinions, thanks for reading! ^^
My thoughts on them: Linda - I liked her before, she was probably my favorite one, I always liked serious characters. But I don't mind her being a dreamer either? And I like her new body type too, maybe we'll get to change our body type too. Alex - she was probably my second favorite and I'm glad they didn't change her that much, also I love her shirt. Anne - maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love her new version. I agree that she should have a slower development, it would definitely be more interesting, but if they want to just change her completely, we can't do much about that... Also she's probably the most relatable for me now, so maybe I'm just biased... Lisa - I really didn't like her new version at first, but I think she kinda grew on me... I still miss her punk self though.
I love the new concorde :3 They said she was born a female, which could have something to do with Pandoria since we got to know that Concorde was kinda stuck in Pandoria when she was in Ydris' circus. Plus the horse whisperer said that it is really rare for Concorde to be born a female again but it is something that has happen before.

I just wish they kept the old outfits and hair but just updated to fit with the artstyle of the game. Also really disappointing about them having good things to say about Anne. Wish they kept the old story and it would've been way more interesting to hear how Lisa and Anne became friends after Anne was mean to her through Starshine Legacy. I could pretty much only recognise them after being told it was them. Green suited Linda so well, loved Alex's old baggy pants and layered shirts and Lisa's flaming red spikey hair was iconic for her. I dont mind Linda's new bodytype or the effect Pandoria had on Anne but overall it felt short. I dont mind the horses too much, personally i love Meteor's little beard (makes him feel old and wise which makes him feel like Linda's horse). I agree that Tin-Can's hair could be messier and Concorde suddenly changing gender when it was supposed to be a BROTHERHOOD makes no sense. Alot of this could be nostalgia talking but i felt let down by the changes (except for the addition of Alex working out). Next i wish they'd update the player to fit the other models a little better instead of adding new horse-breeds every 5 minutes. I appreciate their work but its too often in my eyes, you never have time to save up enough sc before 5 new breeds are out.
Honestly I love the new look of the soul riders. Linda especially looks so cool and her room and overall style are amazing! Noo...I'm not crushing on her at all...🙃
I am level 16 so I had to skip Anne, but I really agree with you on Lisa. Her skin tone change and Eyecolor change and the whole music and the style were really bad for her character. I think that it was weird to change her that much. Even if these changes were made we can still disagree. This video is great btw ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ

The team actively decided to make these changes to her appearance, and I really don't see why it was necessary. It would be fine if they addressed it or if she was like that all along, but Lisa became a completely different person overnight. She's not a bad character or anything, it just doesn't add up to the storyline we've been following for the past 15 years, which is off-putting to some people
@@eleanornightwalker Well, the lore in Starshine Legacy is officially not canon anymore, so... That's why there are the Soul Riders books - there are basically about the same things as SL, but changed so the story would add up to SSO. The old characters as we know them are gone, sadly. But it's fair since they want the story to be more up to date I guess..
The old Lisa definitely seems like the punk chick that at one of her concerts would DEFINITELY pull a cute fangirl up on stage during a guitar solo and make out while the crowd cheers I feel like they could’ve made her progress into this sort of country chick or keep two sides of her. Maybe we could have seen her still be this punk rock girl but at sad moments would have a regular guitar and sing said country songs, showing how she expresses her pain through music. Right now, Lisa is unlikeable and boring and I’m GLAD they shifted more of the leadership focus to Alex instead of Lisa. Also. Alex and Anne totally make the cutest couple ever, and it’d be really neat to show how they’d complete each other For example, Alex is totally butch and totally works out and has nothing to prove to anybody. Anne however is a total lipstick lesbian who feels like she needs to be perfect to everyone. If they started dating it would A. Be REALLY good representation for the LGBT community, and B. Alex could become a safe space for Anne and Anne could learn that she doesn’t need to prove herself to anyone and it’d be really just a sweet character dynamic.
Honestly I don't really like the new Lisa. I used to think of her as this cool rock girl and now she is this country girl. That being said it could be that Lisa had that rebellion phase where she went from country to rock to country again after her Pandoria experience. People change I guess? Also I love the new Linda and Alex a lot! And Linda being a nerdy fangirl fits somehow... Well for me at least as a nerdy fangirl myself. Alex is really the only one that stayed true to her design and character which is why I love her. I can't really say anything for Anne because I didn't play Starshine legacy, so this is the only version I can go off but, I do think she is pretty snobby.
yes yes, if we only look at Lisa the way she is now, she is a pretty good character, and she's here to stay so you are definitely not in the wrong for loving her! ❤ It's just that she's so different from who she was before, so her character development from the very beginning of the story (when she first arrived in Jorvik) is very off.. That's not an issue if you simply enjoy the game as it is now, but some older players and some who are interested in the whole story may find it off-putting 🤔
Linda is literally exactly like my best friend irl, even her nationality, so i connect to linda more than the others. i feel she isn’t given enough attention compared to the other three
It is possible to be both a dreamer and a realist, I'm both of those things. I like to be aware of the reality of things and pure fact, but its fun to dive into fantasy and completely outlandish things sometimes. I think a ton of people can relate to me with this, so Linda's personality honestly isnt weird.
You know that trailer for sso that used to be on the websiste? I mean, the one where the legend of Aideen and such is introduced? I feel like the character designs in that trailer were so much better than we ended up getting. They looked up to date, while still remaining true to the story. I wish they had gone more in that direction. Something definitely happened to the story around 2020ish when they started completely changing everything.
Personally, I love the new Lisa. She's really relatable to me as the songs that "she" has are amazing and hold so much emotion that help to give her character life. Also, I love her new appearance as the "palette" of her character is really warm? and just makes her seem warm and caring. I understand people can feel differently but I honestly think she's the best character now.
Loretta insults directly shaped my childhood and the game just doesn't feel as multidimensional without her meanness to balance out the overwhelming nice of our character. Does that make sense?
They completely ruined Alex....Alex was my favorite character in the old games. She was abit tomboyish but not "oh bro OMG lets go and kick some as, let me get into random trouble and act like I am super edgy, and just act before I think." She is just annoying to me now. She was tomboyish, but she did not talk like she had 0 braincells, ( like all tomboyish girls have to talk like some stupid edge lords...thanks sso)and she was a great responsible sister to James, and family were something that truly seemed important to her. Which also showed her responsible side and the fact that she had to grow up too fast due to her mother not being...well the greatest mother. As their mother mostly left the caring of James to Alex. Not to mention Alex NEVER show any sign of being irresposible or just throw herself into danger willy nilly. She is adventorous but there is a BIG difference in being rebellious and adventorous to just thinking hey lets go and kill myself or someone else without ANY FING REASON! Even if she is the most powerful soulrider she would never do what she did in sso, putting others in danger for her own selfish vendetta. If anything she would first and foremost make sure everyone is safe and to not make any rash decisions that would put everyone at risk. She would never dream of putting others or herself in danger for something as stupid as a vendetta risking herself and other peoples lives for NO reason at all. And they changed her soulpower...to lightning...lightning...LIGHTNING! She could take a persons soul out of their body! I mean that is beyond cool and creative in my opinion but no... they had to change it to lightning...To me that is so incredibly boring...Alex is a boring,braindead, childish, irresponsible and "edgy" and NOT the Alex that was...and I am so sad that I have come to hate one of my favorite characters growing up... Sorry for sounding so negative but I am really upset they changed her personality so much when nothing needed to be changed. The design for her is good though but that is the only positive thing I can really say....
I agree completely. I also wish (even though I know this isn’t even an option for them) they would add male main characters, too. I get it that maybe they think a boy wouldn’t fit with the soul riders that are all girls, but imo it would be cool. Just like they changed Concorde’s gender, why couldn’t main character be male? It is just very unfair that the gender can’t be chosen. It’s the best online horse game and I don’t see a reason why they made the choice to make it only a girl game.
THIS!! It kind of pissed me off how they could just change Concorde's gender despite it being a brotherhood with the excuse of mare soul horses being rare, but for whatever reason soul riders has to stay a sisterhood? Kinda weird in my opinion
For Linda, I feel like she can be a dreamer and a realist at the same time. I feel like the unicorns and other stuff is her hobbies, and her being a book worm is just her interest. It doesn’t really fit together. But great video!

I personally really like the new updated soul riders, I think these changes were for the best. I get why people have problems with it or miss the old soulriders. But we grow up and sso is changing and improving! And we gotta accept that it just can't always be the same as before

I've gotten pretty used to the new soul riders by now and they're really good, but I sure will miss the old Lisa regardless 😅 I'm not sure if I will ever actually get over the original Lisa, but I know she's not coming back so there's no point in complaining about it. The new Lisa is good, she's just different I am working on some edits to see what she could have looked like though 🤔🤔
I feel like it's very important to develop characters - especially in a game focused towards a younger audience- that can help teach that audience that people have different sides to them. Like if they had Anne as a bit meaner, but then showed throughout the story she is truly as kind as people who are close to her say she is, that would kind of influence younger players in a really good way! I feel overall that the updated models are really nice (very happy about kind of embracing all sizes and such!), but it does highlight how outdated some other models look.... Every time I look at Mario to do that stupid meteor quest thing I have to stare at his void eyes. y i k e s
I don't get how Linda's intersts are contradictory. She's a nerd and likes nerdy stuff, seems fitting. That's what makes me like her the most, I can relate to her. Escapism gives me comfort.
I think that with Lisa they could have made her still a rock star but make her still into western riding. If that would be changed then that would be better and more like her old self but still like how they want it to be like if you get what I mean.
I agree with your ranking of the characters. I literally dislike Lisa now, she is too different from what she was. They needed to add that she loves rock n roll AND country for it to make more sense..... aaaaand I miss the spiky hair. It was ICONIC.

I'm guessing that some random child got too offended about Loretta being rude and then went crying to their Karen mother, who then contacted her friends Susan and Karen #57 and spammed SSE until they changed Loretta, making her bland. Probably not what happened, but we can at least imagine
I think I'm a dreamer and a realistic as Linda and it's not a bad thing. You can be realistic when something serious happens. Obviously you won't start daydreaming about it. However, when something less depressing and serious thing happens, you can be optimistic and a dreamer. And of course, in your free time, when you read a wonderful book you become a dreamer, you want to be a part of the story. I don't thing it was worth mentioning.
I like the soul riders so far, but perhaps they could've kept Lisa a bit of a punk. ...I'm also sorry to say this (no I'm not) but uhhh- Justin also really needs an update because he's quite ugly. I said what I said.
First off great video. 👏🏻 Now for my thoughts about the Soul Riders’ redesigns. Regarding Lisa: I have the extremely unpopular opinion that the new Lisa is infinitely better than the old one. 😂 I really like Linda’s, I agree that they expanded her character more. It’s nice to see Linda used in the game for more than just a substitute for Google. I don’t really think her reading interests are contradictory though, I mean I love history but I also love Lord of the Rings. Or maybe we’re both just weird that way? 🤔 😆 Still haven’t really seen much of Anne yet so not sure how I feel about her personality but her riding outfit looks great. 🤷🏻♂️ And Alex, well SSO actually managed to find a way to improve upon perfection. Of course I’m most like her in personality and interests so I might be a bit biased but she’s awesome. 😎

It’s our responsibility as equestrians to get a horse that is built and made to tolerate the job we want them to perform. This has to do with biomechanics and anatomy, not them being unable to do it. :)
Spirit My Love His model is definitely a draft. You can see it on the way his entire body is built, and the feathers, his “beard”, thickness of the legs, etc. It’s also basically the same model as the north Swedish in game, which is a draft horse.

theorys MY THEORY ON FRIGE DOORS: its a alien hideout because it plays the same music when you go to the ufo... theory on horse death: our starters are gonna die because we got the rune runner recently ( could be new soul horse ) and, most recently the pandoria portal was open to all horses!
The issue with the update was that all they had to do was update the models, but instead they changed the characters entirely. Lisa isn't even Lisa anymore, they changed her backstory, style, and even her fucking race, it's gross.
I think changing Concorde from his old form being a male to 'him' now being a mare was the SSO teams way of really emphasising that the new Concorde isn't the exact same as the one we have now, and how he may have the same guardian spirit thing but is still a different horse- as although the main difference is he is now a foal, he will eventually grow and bla bla bla
I agree with a lot of things you said and maybe I misunderstood the point you made but Linda can definitely be a releastic person and a researcher while really enjoying fantasy and being a dreamer! I feel like a lot of people are like that.
I apsolutly agree on whet you mean! Anne and Alex are kinda only one i like in the new upptade and all the horses exsept concord. sins Concord and ann was my favorit duo in the star shine games! And a thing that realy is bad is that Ann donsesnt seem to be to sad about concords death! like you can see it in some secnes but still she lost here hosre that she had for years and they had a greait bond but he is dead and she dont show that many emotin about it!
Sometimes I look at my character for too long and she follows the direction I put the camera in and it actually makes me scared of her cause she stares into my soul.
I honestly believe our characters need more depth!! Story wise. We seem to be more of the person doing a lot of the dirty work while the other 4 have the awesome powers and backstory while we follow far behind. We need more of a story and yes some of the more recently quests gives out characters more of idea on why their important but they make it seem like they really don’t need our character. Idk how to really explain it but i feel like our characters DEFINITELY need to have a quest line based around us and our story moving forward and how we make a difference in stopping the evil forces and what makes us so important to the group
I LOVE Alexs and Lindas new designs, can't say the same about Lisa and Anne tho. As a person with short hair, I don't like the change of Lisas hair. Why couldnt they just kept it short? theres a lot of girls with short hair, why can't someone represent them? and I wish that she would be into rock and not a country girl, but I've started to kind of get used to it now. Anne tho, why did they change her personality like that? well, her personality in SSL was a bit too much, but it feels like SSO destroyed her character and now she is just so... flat? and that her mom forced her into everything, wtf?? they changed her so now she is shy and insecure but also angry. I think it's important for young girls to know that they are allowed to be confident, love themselves and their appearance but that they still can be really good persons and friends! Of course many people can probably relate to parents who put too much pressure of them, but sso could least have kept her confident personality.

I wonder if sso will build on our characters backstory, or leave it up to us. I like the idea of our character having their back story made by the player as the player is basically them, of course you can say that you are separate from your character like i believe as my character looks nothing like me i got brown hair she’s blonde, i got short hair hers is long, i got green eyes hers is blue. That’s all i really am gonna say
Hmm, must be just me then 🤔 it just hits me as kind of strange how someone who is all fact-based also obsess over space knights and magical unicorns. There's nothing wrong with either, but I can't imagine combining them. I've probably just always seen her as a Hermione Granger kind of person 🤷♀️

I think, that they should stick with the older character of Anne and don’t completely remake her character to good and say, that she’s just angry and missunderstood, since it doesn’t make any sense with all the soulriders around her, especially with Lisa, who gives her some attention... As for others, I think, that they’re more likeable for me now, especially Lisa, since before she appeared, like if she was fearless and she seemed... Well, unfinished and completely out of character. about Linda; it's actually really common for logical people to enjoy fiction and it's massively parodied in other media to the point that it's considered a stereotype. Linda is actually very typical for who she is now.
the new lisa is an okay character on her own, but to try and say that old and new lisa are the same person? no. I wiash they at least had some sort of explanation as to why, but its still a mystery. My favourite soul rider whould have to be Linda because she is beautidul and i loved her character already but i love her even more now, and i think that the nerdy bookish girl is overused in many shows, movies, and games, so i like that they decided to change her up a bit.
I have an explanation for Lisa not being the same rocker as before. Star stable have said that they really wanted to make the soul riders feel realistic and felt that Lisa having lost her mother, being a soul rider and having her be a big rock star was a not realistic, especially considering her age. It takes time to get big. This is why they toned her down so much. Her new Western origin may have been to add variety in the group. With Linda doing showjumping, Anne doing drasage and Alex just being a general rider they may have felt the needed to acknowledge that side of the equestrian world too. I personally do think that they could have had her keep a bit more rocker but if we're being realistic then we need to acknowledge that the death of a parent during you teenage years is a big thing. This may have lead Lisa to want to keep her mother close in the form of her western roots. This wanting to keep her mother close is also why she wears the new jacket which the you can see was her mother's in the I am lisa video if you pay attention to the artwork.
Agree. As a child, I was playfull and would always play with a dog my grandpa and grandma owned... But then he died and it changed me forever🥺 Like, for a long time, we had to go for a walks with other dogs, before I could get in terms with it and in that time, I've also started to love animals more and released, that no animal is borned to be agressive towards peoples and that we're creating it on our own. I really love how they done Lisa, as it represents a person, who lost her close one very good 😄
Yeah well I mean back in the day all four of them had the same body type, which was skinny because that was trendy at the time. For them to now represent four different (and healthy) body types is great and it was needed for people to feel more represented in the game. Anne represents a smaller body type while Linda represents a bigger. Lisa is in-between representing the "average" body, and Alex represents a fit body.
Eleanor Nightwalker it makes people look up to them more and make them feel more like you or anyone and it can make you feel like “She’s just like me I want to be like her.” If you get what I mean I’m bad at explaining things.
I personally think that the new Anne is too perfect. Sso keeps on telling us how she is so amazing and misunderstood and the leader of the soul riders. First of all, the fact that there is a leader sucks as it gives more "power" to Anne and makes her seem more like the main character (from SL Lisa was more like the main character) and takes away the fact that the girls are all equal. Also, sso said that they thought Lisa was too perfect and wanted to give her flaws. Then they make ANNE perfect??? It almost feels like the people at the office just like Anne the most and THAT is not good for the game. Then about Lisa... she lost so much of her unique personality, but mostly I want her green eyes back (they looked so good on her😂)! Or Alex's blond/grey blond hair, because now once again Anne stands out too much from them by her looks and only makes it seem more like she is the leader. Overall I think many things are messed up and I totally agree with the points in the video, expecially with giving Alex more emotion and background but the sso team just needs to think this more through and maybe listen to us???...🤔🤔 Edit: I forgot to add that I myself have no emotional attachment to Anne because of the fact she (in my opinion) isn't very relatable and like I said earlier, doesn't have flaws. I hope this gets fixed, as from all the soul riders, I think she definitely shares the same interests and she is most like me out of all the girls, but sadly she is currently my least favourite out of them all but she might not be if sso would kindly GIVE HER MORE FLAWSSSSS!!😂😬
Hmm, leadership is associated with the sun circle, which is why Anne was always supposed to be the leader of the soul riders. The soul rider of the sun has the power to travel between our world and pandoria, becoming the group's compass and leading them into battle. I thought that always made sense. (Spoiler warning!) But hey, in SSO, Anne actually declined the leadership of the soul riders and passed that onto Alex instead, blaming it on how she's got too much on her plate already because of her mum 🤷♀️ I kinda wish they had stuck with the traditional soul rider setup though, cause I feel like it's made that way for a reason and that Anne was MEANT to be the leader. It's been like that since the beginning of time so what happens when they do it differently? 🤔
The thing is alot of kids play this game and look up to diffrent charachters if they made Lisa a bit more punk she would be a great role model. We have dark skin, round body, "nerdy", a tomboy, a truth speaker/the typical white girl and they all are great role models but Lisa? Why not make her punk when that was her whole charachter. The horses I think look great but changing concoreds gender was a weird. Not only that but breaking the brother hood in horses but not between the humans is just a bit weird and rude
I like the new Lisa and Alex tbh. I didnt really pick up much from them as a kid personality wise when I played star stable when it came out, but I pick up on their personalities much more now. However, I always loved Linda bc I liked her passion for learning and research... and she still has some of it but tbh I dont like the fangirly-ness. Like some is cute, but I dunno I think it's just a bit overdone. I couldnt really pinpoint why I didnt like her as much after the update, but now I think I know. However I really like alex more now. I love her energy, it's something I didnt notice before. (I'm a visual person, the animations help a lot). Anne is kinda meh. Lisa... I notice her more now but I dunno. It's just kinda... oh shes cool and sings... originally I liked her redesign the most.

I’m fine with the new Linda, I actually quite like who she is now. As for Anne, I didn’t really like her that much in SSL because of her snobby attitude. I prefer the new Anne personality-wise and at least she looks kind of the same. I love the new Alex to bits, I was really relieved to see that they stayed true to who she has always been instead of pulling a ”Lisa” on her. As for Lisa, I used to like her, she was cool. Now? No it’s not Lisa. This is somebody completely different. Nobody goes from a punk rockstar to a standard country girl. I get that SSO had their own vision of Lisa and designed her accordingly, but if they needed to do that, they could’ve at least have changed her bio and posters of her old self. What I see in the new Lisa isn’t someone who used to be in a rockband and loves singing and dancing; I see a timid country girl who has never been onstage in her entire life and probably even has stage fright. I’m always going to be salty about this major change.

Our character is a flat character...cool our personality actually matches our model. Soulless.
they're gonna update that too at some point, but I think that's one of the last things they update because they have to update all the hairstyles and clothes and animations and everything along with it, as well as to make a lot of different custumization options

I as well kinda dislike how the sso team takes any "mean" character and turns them good. Like with Loretta or Anne. I wish they'd stayed with the old Anne and would make her develop better personality in the process of the story, it would make her much more likable for me.
With Lisa... I get the skin colour. She's from Texas, of course she'll be more tan than others. :D Also I think the rock music made her seem too rebellious, and since Alex is now the rebellious one, they had to make Lisa different. She seems softer and more emotional, still felling deep pain inside her.
Overall I feel like SST is making the characters more relatable to the players. Alex is the one with bad family, Anne is living up to her parents dreams, Lisa had traumatic loss and Linda is nerdy fangirl. Also now we have Catherine - the lonely, socially awkward girl that no one likes.
I'm not sure if all this was a good thing. I personally don't care about relating to any of these, but I see younger girls finding themselves in them and feeling powerful and like they have someone who gets them, which is what the whole game is about. fEmaLe HeRoIsM xd

Finally someone who sees it like I do! I really wish they had Anne be a bit more on the pretty, popular mean-ish girl. Maybe not completely mean, but a bit more vain. It would make Anne a bit... less Mary Sue you could say. I’m not saying that she is, but I feel like her being the rich, popular, beautiful girl who can get anything she wants but is also is really nice and loved by all but the villains is a bit Mary Sue to me. Even with the villains taking her. I feel like if she was a bit more on the vain side, then she’d be a bit more human. THEN she could develop on becoming a bit less self prideful and more modest.

I saw an analysis about Anne on tumblr. It was about how she is vain and self-obsessed but she is also a good friend who is always there for the other soul riders, and how playing down her vanity and taking away her confidence weakens her character, because so what if a girl is like that? So what if she looks good and she knows it?

I don't get why they made Lisa's songs like they are, she was clearly a rock star.. I also wish they didn't completely change them. Like they could have made the old outfits prettier and more of today's fashion but I wish we could still see the some of the old outfit, does anyone get what I mean?? Also I really miss Starshine's mane, it was special, just like all of the horses but now they are "normal".
I'm personally okay with them changing the outfits as long as it still reflects who they are, but the way I see it they have failed to do so with Lisa and (partly) Linda. Lisa was straight up robbed while Linda just kinda feels off to me...

I’m not sure if I’m the only one but. I feel like the story at times treats our character like an extra. And I know they are new to the soul riders but they made it a big deal that we had the powers and were important yet they only focus on the main 4 and we are just someone who do most of the dirty work. This may be a unpopular opinion but I feel like our characters should get more appreciation and stuff. Cuz the story was based around a new girl coming in and having these amazing abilities but there are times where the soul riders bond and use magic and leave our characters out of the moment. Might just be me tho.
I also believe they changed Lisa way to much and it feels like she’s SSO favorite. I love her DONT get me wrong I relate to her so much and she was my favorite for a long time but I don’t like how they made her this new county girl. Nothing against it, it’s just not Lisa. Like the video said she was a rock star, I don’t know why they had to change that so much. I just don’t find Lisa as relatable as she used to be.
I know this comment is old, but you are right, I'm just experiencing the game, and with saving New Lisa it really shows "aww thanks for help, aren't you cute! Now out of my way kid I'll show you how REAL Soul Raiders do things." And when Sabine was talking about the legitimate perspective of us replacing Anne, I felt that although this was something Soul Raiders should consider, at lest for the time being when there is no way for us to safely rescue Anne, they never did. When you think about it they actually treat us just like Bobcats do, "You are an honorary member! Oh, you think we will treat you like part of the team? that's cute. You are just our a glorified errand girl.", only Bobcats have enough balls to tell this to us to our face, and Soul Raiders streacht up manipulate us "you are some, you are great, now do the dirty work for us". Not to mention Soul Raiders always rumble about how we are friends, but I don't feel this, I feel like they are friends, and I am an outsider at best, their handy little slave at worse. Is this the way the incarnation of Adeen supposed to be treated (yes, this is still canon to me dammit, also easy fix for having multiple characters being able to master all four circles, say that Adeen's soul was fragmented after some sort of battle, this would also explain how different "hosts" can be completely different people, sorta like us being different from Katheryn, and would still make us special, not some Joe-shmowe who was accidentally tangled into action, and just happened to be able to use all four circles, and now knows too much, so we have to keep her around) ? This makes me actually dislike those characters, and because I don't have any prevus attachment to than I don't feel bad for hating them.
They did Lisa dirty. I like her new character’s look but I wish they kept her old style and personality. She’s very mediocre and I feel like these girls should stand out and it’s okay if they’re misfits! They really softened her character and I think that’s really a shame. So what if new players are surprised by a punk rocker? It breaks down stereotypes and opens the door for acceptance. I also feel like some of her new songs could have been better.... they are pretty cheesy and come up at odd times. I feel like they should be more raw and acoustic! I genuinely enjoyed the miscreant’s music released on the app and I wish they could let Lisa make some similar styled tunes. Her music doesn’t even sound country (but if they do move to country sound in the future I pray it’s not country pop). Overall I think they were trying to increase variety in the soul rider group and distinguish Lisa from the miscreants, but making Lisa edgy and Alex a bit rebellious is not the same! They had key differences in their personalities and in their style and were totally different. Lisa has more of the put together and stand out style while Alex is just laid back and confidently herself.

Yeah I'm with you here, the new Lisa has shocked and disappointed me. I didn't even know much of anything about Lisa in Starshine Legacy or Star Academy before playing SSO, besides the idea that she was an oddly nice, but partly stereotypical punk-rock gal. After the change, I wanted to know more about her, and after some research the message was clear that she tried to make a difference & spread love in the world with her music despite her appearance, which really put me into perspective of not judging a person by their looks if they truly meant well.
Like the tom-boyish, confident, peaceful and chill until provoked Alex being fit for the Warrior role of a soul rider...
Like nerdy, helpful, caring, wise, and encouraging Linda being fit for the Moon soul rider, the one who understands and remembers the past but still has hope for the future despite horrific visions...
And like the slightly snobbish, vain, and prideful but still considerate, uplifting, and generally good-natured Anne, being fit for the Sun soul rider of Time and Space, who despite going through heck and back several times (Pandoria), still tries to stay in the present as the Anne who has not just seen nightmares or dreams beyond imagination (this is coming from SSL, I haven't came to the Anne quest in SSO yet so I may be wrong abt her bckstory)...
But I digress;
Seeing the new Lisa have a background of a country life and sticking with it just doesn't give off the same message, I think... Or if it's meant to, it's not as strong...meaningful...at least to me. In my opinion, she became de-characterized, gone for the classical country-girl trope...it's a bit too traditional for my liking. The old Lisa made sense; she was part of a team of unlikely friends and heroes, her passionate singing fit into her role as the soul rider of life and healing, since music practically livens people up; but now it just seems like the 3 soul riders, and another Josh :/

So... i was trying to get over the changes, but Starshine legacy was my childhood. I replayed the games alot, even recently so I got attached to the old soul riders. When i found out that Starstable is continuing with this lore i was so happy. I've played SSO for 8 years so after they changed the soul riders my reaction wasn't good. In my opinion they don't feel like their own selves, even the horses. Overall they feel like completely different characters, looks like they switched the skin tones between Anne and Lisa lol, Anne used to be more tan in Starshine legacy and the personalities? I'm speechless... Well anyway i should probably get over it since it's their game and their story. It's just a bit sad for me to see the characters i grew up with get changed into something different.
I can't even choose a favorite soul rider 'cause i dont like any of them, haha, ir used to be Linda and I looved Meteor. But this new Linda kind of acts like a weird fangirl.

My thoughts on them:
Linda - I liked her before, she was probably my favorite one, I always liked serious characters. But I don't mind her being a dreamer either? And I like her new body type too, maybe we'll get to change our body type too.
Alex - she was probably my second favorite and I'm glad they didn't change her that much, also I love her shirt.
Anne - maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love her new version. I agree that she should have a slower development, it would definitely be more interesting, but if they want to just change her completely, we can't do much about that... Also she's probably the most relatable for me now, so maybe I'm just biased...
Lisa - I really didn't like her new version at first, but I think she kinda grew on me... I still miss her punk self though.
I love the new concorde :3 They said she was born a female, which could have something to do with Pandoria since we got to know that Concorde was kinda stuck in Pandoria when she was in Ydris' circus. Plus the horse whisperer said that it is really rare for Concorde to be born a female again but it is something that has happen before.

I agree about Lisa! I adored Lisa's old style! It was perfect punk/rock. Her new style really does feel foreign
I just wish they kept the old outfits and hair but just updated to fit with the artstyle of the game. Also really disappointing about them having good things to say about Anne. Wish they kept the old story and it would've been way more interesting to hear how Lisa and Anne became friends after Anne was mean to her through Starshine Legacy. I could pretty much only recognise them after being told it was them. Green suited Linda so well, loved Alex's old baggy pants and layered shirts and Lisa's flaming red spikey hair was iconic for her. I dont mind Linda's new bodytype or the effect Pandoria had on Anne but overall it felt short.
I dont mind the horses too much, personally i love Meteor's little beard (makes him feel old and wise which makes him feel like Linda's horse). I agree that Tin-Can's hair could be messier and Concorde suddenly changing gender when it was supposed to be a BROTHERHOOD makes no sense.
Alot of this could be nostalgia talking but i felt let down by the changes (except for the addition of Alex working out).
Next i wish they'd update the player to fit the other models a little better instead of adding new horse-breeds every 5 minutes. I appreciate their work but its too often in my eyes, you never have time to save up enough sc before 5 new breeds are out.
Honestly I love the new look of the soul riders. Linda especially looks so cool and her room and overall style are amazing!

I am level 16 so I had to skip Anne, but I really agree with you on Lisa. Her skin tone change and Eyecolor change and the whole music and the style were really bad for her character. The team actively decided to make these changes to her appearance, and I really don't see why it was necessary. It would be fine if they addressed it or if she was like that all along, but Lisa became a completely different person overnight. She's not a bad character or anything, it just doesn't add up to the storyline we've been following for the past 15 years, which is off-putting to some people

That's why there are the Soul Riders books - there are basically about the same things as SL, but changed so the story would add up to SSO. The old characters as we know them are gone, sadly. But it's fair since they want the story to be more up to date I guess..

I feel like they could’ve made her progress into this sort of country chick or keep two sides of her. Maybe we could have seen her still be this punk rock girl but at sad moments would have a regular guitar and sing said country songs, showing how she expresses her pain through music. Right now, Lisa is unlikeable and boring and I’m GLAD they shifted more of the leadership focus to Alex instead of Lisa.
Also. Alex and Anne totally make the cutest couple ever, and it’d be really neat to show how they’d complete each other
For example, Alex is totally butch and totally works out and has nothing to prove to anybody. Anne however is a total lipstick lesbian who feels like she needs to be perfect to everyone. If they started dating it would A. Be REALLY good representation for the LGBT community, and B. Alex could become a safe space for Anne and Anne could learn that she doesn’t need to prove herself to anyone and it’d be really just a sweet character dynamic.

It's just that she's so different from who she was before, so her character development from the very beginning of the story (when she first arrived in Jorvik) is very off.. That's not an issue if you simply enjoy the game as it is now, but some older players and some who are interested in the whole story may find it off-putting 🤔

It is possible to be both a dreamer and a realist, I'm both of those things. I like to be aware of the reality of things and pure fact, but its fun to dive into fantasy and completely outlandish things sometimes. I think a ton of people can relate to me with this, so Linda's personality honestly isnt weird.
You know that trailer for sso that used to be on the websiste? I mean, the one where the legend of Aideen and such is introduced? I feel like the character designs in that trailer were so much better than we ended up getting. They looked up to date, while still remaining true to the story. I wish they had gone more in that direction. Something definitely happened to the story around 2020ish when they started completely changing everything.
Personally, I love the new Lisa. She's really relatable to me as the songs that "she" has are amazing and hold so much emotion that help to give her character life. Also, I love her new appearance as the "palette" of her character is really warm? and just makes her seem warm and caring. I understand people can feel differently but I honestly think she's the best character now.
Loretta insults directly shaped my childhood and the game just doesn't feel as multidimensional without her meanness to balance out the overwhelming nice of our character. Does that make sense?
It does, I feel the same way about Anne's character
They completely ruined Alex....Alex was my favorite character in the old games. She was abit tomboyish but not "oh bro OMG lets go and kick some as, let me get into random trouble and act like I am super edgy, and just act before I think." She is just annoying to me now. She was tomboyish, but she did not talk like she had 0 braincells, ( like all tomboyish girls have to talk like some stupid edge lords...thanks sso)and she was a great responsible sister to James, and family were something that truly seemed important to her.
Which also showed her responsible side and the fact that she had to grow up too fast due to her mother not being...well the greatest mother. As their mother mostly left the caring of James to Alex. Not to mention Alex NEVER show any sign of being irresposible or just throw herself into danger willy nilly. She is adventorous but there is a BIG difference in being rebellious and adventorous to just thinking hey lets go and kill myself or someone else without ANY FING REASON! Even if she is the most powerful soulrider she would never do what she did in sso, putting others in danger for her own selfish vendetta. If anything she would first and foremost make sure everyone is safe and to not make any rash decisions that would put everyone at risk. She would never dream of putting others or herself in danger for something as stupid as a vendetta risking herself and other peoples lives for NO reason at all.
And they changed her soulpower...to lightning...lightning...LIGHTNING! She could take a persons soul out of their body! I mean that is beyond cool and creative in my opinion but no... they had to change it to lightning...To me that is so incredibly boring...Alex is a boring,braindead, childish, irresponsible and "edgy" and NOT the Alex that was...and I am so sad that I have come to hate one of my favorite characters growing up...
Sorry for sounding so negative but I am really upset they changed her personality so much when nothing needed to be changed. The design for her is good though but that is the only positive thing I can really say....
I agree completely. I also wish (even though I know this isn’t even an option for them) they would add male main characters, too. I get it that maybe they think a boy wouldn’t fit with the soul riders that are all girls, but imo it would be cool. Just like they changed Concorde’s gender, why couldn’t main character be male? It is just very unfair that the gender can’t be chosen. It’s the best online horse game and I don’t see a reason why they made the choice to make it only a girl game.
THIS!! It kind of pissed me off how they could just change Concorde's gender despite it being a brotherhood with the excuse of mare soul horses being rare, but for whatever reason soul riders has to stay a sisterhood? Kinda weird in my opinion
For Linda, I feel like she can be a dreamer and a realist at the same time. I feel like the unicorns and other stuff is her hobbies, and her being a book worm is just her interest. It doesn’t really fit together. But great video!

I personally really like the new updated soul riders, I think these changes were for the best. I get why people have problems with it or miss the old soulriders. But we grow up and sso is changing and improving! And we gotta accept that it just can't always be the same as before

I feel like it's very important to develop characters - especially in a game focused towards a younger audience- that can help teach that audience that people have different sides to them. Like if they had Anne as a bit meaner, but then showed throughout the story she is truly as kind as people who are close to her say she is, that would kind of influence younger players in a really good way! I feel overall that the updated models are really nice (very happy about kind of embracing all sizes and such!), but it does highlight how outdated some other models look.... Every time I look at Mario to do that stupid meteor quest thing I have to stare at his void eyes. y i k e s

I don't get how Linda's intersts are contradictory. She's a nerd and likes nerdy stuff, seems fitting. That's what makes me like her the most, I can relate to her. Escapism gives me comfort.
I think that with Lisa they could have made her still a rock star but make her still into western riding. If that would be changed then that would be better and more like her old self but still like how they want it to be like if you get what I mean.
I agree with your ranking of the characters. I literally dislike Lisa now, she is too different from what she was. They needed to add that she loves rock n roll AND country for it to make more sense..... aaaaand I miss the spiky hair. It was ICONIC.

I think I'm a dreamer and a realistic as Linda and it's not a bad thing. You can be realistic when something serious happens. Obviously you won't start daydreaming about it. However, when something less depressing and serious thing happens, you can be optimistic and a dreamer. And of course, in your free time, when you read a wonderful book you become a dreamer, you want to be a part of the story. I don't thing it was worth mentioning.
I like the soul riders so far, but perhaps they could've kept Lisa a bit of a punk.

I really like Linda’s, I agree that they expanded her character more. It’s nice to see Linda used in the game for more than just a substitute for Google. I don’t really think her reading interests are contradictory though, I mean I love history but I also love Lord of the Rings. Or maybe we’re both just weird that way? 🤔 😆
Still haven’t really seen much of Anne yet so not sure how I feel about her personality but her riding outfit looks great. 🤷🏻♂️
And Alex, well SSO actually managed to find a way to improve upon perfection. Of course I’m most like her in personality and interests so I might be a bit biased but she’s awesome. 😎

It’s our responsibility as equestrians to get a horse that is built and made to tolerate the job we want them to perform. Spirit My Love His model is definitely a draft. You can see it on the way his entire body is built, and the feathers, his “beard”, thickness of the legs, etc. It’s also basically the same model as the north Swedish in game, which is a draft horse.

our starters are gonna die because we got the rune runner recently ( could be new soul horse ) and, most recently the pandoria portal was open to all horses!
The issue with the update was that all they had to do was update the models, but instead they changed the characters entirely. Lisa isn't even Lisa anymore, they changed her backstory, style, and even her fucking race, it's gross.

I think changing Concorde from his old form being a male to 'him' now being a mare was the SSO teams way of really emphasising that the new Concorde isn't the exact same as the one we have now, and how he may have the same guardian spirit thing but is still a different horse- as although the main difference is he is now a foal, he will eventually grow and bla bla bla

I honestly believe our characters need more depth!! Story wise. We seem to be more of the person doing a lot of the dirty work while the other 4 have the awesome powers and backstory while we follow far behind. We need more of a story and yes some of the more recently quests gives out characters more of idea on why their important but they make it seem like they really don’t need our character. Idk how to really explain it but i feel like our characters DEFINITELY need to have a quest line based around us and our story moving forward and how we make a difference in stopping the evil forces and what makes us so important to the group

I LOVE Alexs and Lindas new designs, can't say the same about Lisa and Anne tho. As a person with short hair, I don't like the change of Lisas hair. Why couldnt they just kept it short? theres a lot of girls with short hair, why can't someone represent them? and I wish that she would be into rock and not a country girl, but I've started to kind of get used to it now. Anne tho, why did they change her personality like that? well, her personality in SSL was a bit too much, but it feels like SSO destroyed her character and now she is just so... flat? and that her mom forced her into everything, wtf?? they changed her so now she is shy and insecure but also angry. I think it's important for young girls to know that they are allowed to be confident, love themselves and their appearance but that they still can be really good persons and friends! Of course many people can probably relate to parents who put too much pressure of them, but sso could least have kept her confident personality.
I think they thought that Lisa as a person in a band or a rock star or smth looked too egy and emo for them.
I used to think so too, but then we got the Miscreants, and I don't see how Lisa would be any different from them 🤔 they're probably even darker than she would be too
When they first changed the soulriders I kind of hated it. But after a while I realised that it was necessary and now I pretty much love their looks!

I think, that they should stick with the older character of Anne and don’t completely remake her character to good and say, that she’s just angry and missunderstood, since it doesn’t make any sense with all the soulriders around her, especially with Lisa, who gives her some attention... As for others, I think, that they’re more likeable for me now, especially Lisa, since before she appeared, like if she was fearless and she seemed... Well, unfinished and completely out of character. about Linda; it's actually really common for logical people to enjoy fiction and it's massively parodied in other media to the point that it's considered a stereotype. Linda is actually very typical for who she is now.
the new lisa is an okay character on her own, but to try and say that old and new lisa are the same person? no. I wiash they at least had some sort of explanation as to why, but its still a mystery. My favourite soul rider whould have to be Linda because she is beautidul and i loved her character already but i love her even more now, and i think that the nerdy bookish girl is overused in many shows, movies, and games, so i like that they decided to change her up a bit.
I have an explanation for Lisa not being the same rocker as before. Star stable have said that they really wanted to make the soul riders feel realistic and felt that Lisa having lost her mother, being a soul rider and having her be a big rock star was a not realistic, especially considering her age. It takes time to get big. This is why they toned her down so much.
Her new Western origin may have been to add variety in the group. With Linda doing showjumping, Anne doing drasage and Alex just being a general rider they may have felt the needed to acknowledge that side of the equestrian world too. I personally do think that they could have had her keep a bit more rocker but if we're being realistic then we need to acknowledge that the death of a parent during you teenage years is a big thing. This may have lead Lisa to want to keep her mother close in the form of her western roots. This wanting to keep her mother close is also why she wears the new jacket which the you can see was her mother's in the I am lisa video if you pay attention to the artwork.
Agree. As a child, I was playfull and would always play with a dog my grandpa and grandma owned... But then he died and it changed me forever🥺 Like, for a long time, we had to go for a walks with other dogs, before I could get in terms with it and in that time, I've also started to love animals more and released, that no animal is borned to be agressive towards peoples and that we're creating it on our own. Yeah well I mean back in the day all four of them had the same body type, which was skinny because that was trendy at the time. For them to now represent four different (and healthy) body types is great and it was needed for people to feel more represented in the game. Anne represents a smaller body type while Linda represents a bigger. Lisa is in-between representing the "average" body, and Alex represents a fit body.
Eleanor Nightwalker it makes people look up to them more and make them feel more like you or anyone and it can make you feel like “She’s just like me I want to be like her.” If you get what I mean I’m bad at explaining things.
I personally think that the new Anne is too perfect. Sso keeps on telling us how she is so amazing and misunderstood and the leader of the soul riders. First of all, the fact that there is a leader sucks as it gives more "power" to Anne and makes her seem more like the main character (from SL Lisa was more like the main character) and takes away the fact that the girls are all equal. Also, sso said that they thought Lisa was too perfect and wanted to give her flaws. Then they make ANNE perfect??? It almost feels like the people at the office just like Anne the most and THAT is not good for the game.
Then about Lisa... she lost so much of her unique personality, but mostly I want her green eyes back (they looked so good on her😂)! Or Alex's blond/grey blond hair, because now once again Anne stands out too much from them by her looks and only makes it seem more like she is the leader. Overall I think many things are messed up and I totally agree with the points in the video, expecially with giving Alex more emotion and background but the sso team just needs to think this more through and maybe listen to us???...🤔🤔
Edit: I forgot to add that I myself have no emotional attachment to Anne because of the fact she (in my opinion) isn't very relatable and like I said earlier, doesn't have flaws. I hope this gets fixed, as from all the soul riders, I think she definitely shares the same interests and she is most like me out of all the girls, but sadly she is currently my least favourite out of them all but she might not be if sso would kindly GIVE HER MORE FLAWSSSSS!!😂😬
Hmm, leadership is associated with the sun circle, which is why Anne was always supposed to be the leader of the soul riders. The soul rider of the sun has the power to travel between our world and pandoria, becoming the group's compass and leading them into battle. I thought that always made sense.

But hey, in SSO, Anne actually declined the leadership of the soul riders and passed that onto Alex instead, blaming it on how she's got too much on her plate already because of her mum 🤷♀️ I kinda wish they had stuck with the traditional soul rider setup though, cause I feel like it's made that way for a reason and that Anne was MEANT to be the leader. It's been like that since the beginning of time so what happens when they do it differently? 🤔

The thing is alot of kids play this game and look up to diffrent charachters if they made Lisa a bit more punk she would be a great role model. We have dark skin, round body, "nerdy", a tomboy, a truth speaker/the typical white girl and they all are great role models but Lisa? Why not make her punk when that was her whole charachter. The horses I think look great but changing concoreds gender was a weird. Not only that but breaking the brother hood in horses but not between the humans is just a bit weird and rude
I like the new Lisa and Alex tbh. I didnt really pick up much from them as a kid personality wise when I played star stable when it came out, but I pick up on their personalities much more now. However, I always loved Linda bc I liked her passion for learning and research... and she still has some of it but tbh I dont like the fangirly-ness. Like some is cute, but I dunno I think it's just a bit overdone. I couldnt really pinpoint why I didnt like her as much after the update, but now I think I know. However I really like alex more now. I love her energy, it's something I didnt notice before. (I'm a visual person, the animations help a lot). Anne is kinda meh. Lisa... I notice her more now but I dunno. It's just kinda... oh shes cool and sings... originally I liked her redesign the most.

I’m fine with the new Linda, I actually quite like who she is now. As for Anne, I didn’t really like her that much in SSL because of her snobby attitude. I prefer the new Anne personality-wise and at least she looks kind of the same.
