plug spark plug straight into ingnition coil using lead from distributor,
earth sparkplug turn ingnition on and look for spark.
You need a 8mm socket and universal rachet to undo anti clockwise
top and bottom bolts. Remove capacitor on bottom bolt out the way.
Then use pointy nose pliers to pull out main wire form coil then should be removed. Pleas subcribe for more How to Videos
helpful vid thanks . just a heads up for any one else .
thats a bosch plug on the coil you just press the pin down it releases .
Im going through this same saga at the moment. Wifeys ed fairmont. Struggling to start, especially when warm. When it finally does, it feels like it's going to rip the engine mounts to shreads and fling its way out of the engine bay. Have swapped the ignition module with a good spare one ( tested ok ). Just want to get coil out and clean up and check out with ohms meter while im there. Ford and all their wisdom with those bloody log manifolds not making anything easy to get to 🤦♂️
i have an NC Fairlane i need to change the coil on and i cant seem to get to the damn thing i have about 5 inches of room from underneath the car, i might just try to unplug it from the dizzy and the loom and plug in the new one and let it swing untill i have access to a hoist!
You dont need to pull the pin off, you push it in like a button and the plug will come off
If it's not the coil it's more then likely the TFI module on the distributor, there notorious for failing
Ended up replacing the whole dizzy
What is that sound?!?!
But thx for vid

To whoever put the coil down there … you’re an arse.
