Darryl - you can also consider the gas that you didn’t purchase for your minivan - as savings, since the MY replaced it. And then, if you had a way of charging some sort of battery during the low overnight rate, and had a way to use this charge during the day, that expands what you’re able to store/consume at the lower rate.

@@dennislyon5412 yes, you,are correct. My wife said it is so nice not putting a couple hundred dollars worth of gas a month in her minivan. So, in the long run if I can average saving $50.00 a month on my electric bill and $200.00 on gas, that’s not bad. I realize I would not have as high of n electric bill if I was not charging two cars, sooooo there’s that….. lol also, I’ve looked into getting a solar generator that I could charge overnight, at the cheap rate, but those are still out of my price range. stay safe my friend

Happy to see that you're able to save with your new plan. My method for calculating price per kwh is to divide the total amount of the bill by the number of kwh consumed. I avg around $0.34/kwh. My utility did away with their time of use pricing. But, in my area, I still pay 70% less to fuel my EV than what I spent previously on gas.

@@Runtythestar yes, I understand your way of doing it and that’s right for the total bill. I just tried to see price per kWh and not all the cruddy fees….. lol stay safe my friend.

I would like to know what that extra fee is too.

My first bill on ComEd Hourly Pricing they didn’t let me know I was on it. They said I saved $17 which was 26%. My actual bill was $44.92 more than the previous year but I had spent $161 on gas that year.
My July bill I’m still waiting for my savings report but it was only $25.97 more than previous year and I had spent $170 in gas. I figure that’s a win.
I was told up front the savings is only on the supply charge. Delivery and Taxes & Fees are the same as standard pricing.

@@VickiS0427 yes, I was told that as well. It’s only on the supply charge. I enjoy not spending that money on gas, I don’t even pay attention to the changing gas prices anymore. Stay safe my friend.

Hi Darryl. Just wanted to let you know that as a fellow retired Uber driver, with a 1/1/23 Chevy Bolt EUV, I just went over the 100000 mile mark last week, without any problems so far. Just rotating and replacing tires. My original brakes still have more than 45% left on them. This car again is used 99.9% of the time for my Ubering. I still still average more than 4.6 miles/kw.

@@tmorcos21 WOW, just WOW, I’m impressed. That’s awesome. I am so happy for you, which bodes well for mine as well. I’m averaging 4.5 miles/kwh. Stay safe my friend and thanks for the update.
