The problem I have with this type of game is that it NEVER teaches or explains to you for allocating resources on those sliders, what is more important for each genre. How am I supposed to know if writing or set design is more important for sci fi if you never give me the tools to figure it out?
Experiment, isolate variables and figure out. Moreover once product is done they often give you reviews which tell you what to improve. In this particular game reviews are not particularly compelling, but they probably will improve on it. Its genre standard
I'm pretty sure that the "Unlocked Insights" section of a movie analysis tell you that. I would not be surprised if the corresponding sliders would also indicate it afterward (but can't be sure of it since Orbital Potato didn't do any movies sharing a genre or a theme.
@@mrmendeleev I hope they do. It's what I don't like about the genre standard 'oh this did okay' but it doesn't say 'why' it did okay and what I should tweak, just that I should tweak something
okay there are a lot of movie games coming out and they are mostly focusing on the management side of movie making and not so much the minutia of actual movie making which i like. hopefully this and hollywood animal live up to their goals
I thought the isometric scene could be a scene for movie shots where funny movie scenes could happen, but it seems the most exciting action actually happening was staff sitting on chairs smashing keyboards. The whole gameplay's presentation seems to be interacting with the UI and reward be numbers in the UI. yeah, tycoony but not funny.
Comrade Dictator Potato is the executive of Potatograd's OP-144 factory, nuclear power plant, nuclear waste sales, and the H.O.R.N.E.Ts (Helicopters Operating Remotely Near Every (Potato) Thought) Construction industry.
Jackie Tunes is the type of movie that would have a video made on it titled something like "That 80s martial arts musical you never heard of."
and then actually become a cult classic
GameDev vibes for sure
Gotta be the same studio🤣
We crave new The Movies, but get another GameDev Tycoon 😢
Don't get me wrong, they are both amazing, but the movies is one of a kind to this day.
The soon-to-be released ‘Blockbluster Inc.’ would probably fulfill that ‘The Movies’-crave of yours?
Blockbuster inc is your friend
I looked into blockbuster Inc, and its not yet any good.
or movie tycoon
@@HouseDJMusic I am so glad I scrolled down into the comments. Blockbluster Inc looks like the game I'm looking for when I look for move-making games.

because it would ruin the game...
Researching published games in GameDev Tycoon gives you indicators on sliders depending what you learned.
The very first game like this I remember was Hollywood Mogul from 1993 (yeah long before they used tycoon in every title)

That could be an office you're renting in a commercial building at the start, rather than your apartment.
I like these sort of games wish they become mire interactive or add more element

"I'm making a cartoon flick. Let's put most of our budget into makeup and costumes"
Holly wood
How about "Harmony of the Fist" ;)
Movie tycoons are on the rise but they all suck lol
