We have an old whirlpool unit similar to this one and I only turn it a few times a year when it gets over 100. But it’s so old and it’s never been maintained that I’m worrying it’s going to eventually die. I’d love to figure out how to take care of it. It’s noisy, but cools things down nicely. Sounds exactly like the one in the video. lol :)

Needs a good cleaning and a maybe a new capacitor judging by the slight hesitation on startup
Yeah the capacitor is trash, but the condenser moves a lot of air. There's no dead spots where no air is coming out and ok can see light through it.
Is it colder than compared to newer air conditioning?
Idk, most likely. This thing hasn't been on in two years and it got cold in under 2 minutes. It didn't have any frost or anything.
