the car was built in Paris Illinois by Charley Glick in about 3 months. the body was hand formed over a wood buck, it was the feature car of the great American race and sponsored by the history channel. since no shafer 8 survived they got photos from the museum of the original and compared it to photos of a car they had in the indy 500 museum. the original shafer 8 was red, this car was built in 96 and has a lot street miles and at least one trip into a ditch
