I am a quilter and have owned this fantastic machine now for 3 yrs. I am so in awe of some of the tips and tricks of certain features this machine can do that I was not aware of. Thank you so much for the instructional video. I hope to repeat using your video each month as a refresher course.
I have owned my Pfaff for a year now and have watched several demo videos. Yours is by far the best and I have discovered many things about my machine that I was completely unaware of. Thank you so much for your clear, practical and comprehensive video.
I have had this machine for a couple of years now. I'm glad I found this vid. I've learned new things. But still some questions: What is automatic lock? What I was hoping to see in this video is the Personal Stitch feature. I see it in the manual, but I have no idea how that works. Does it allow you to create your own stitch, for example, a stitch in the shape of a bone for a dog collar?
I want the buy a new machine. This one or the Janome skyline S5.... > Do you have to chance the plate so the delicate fabrics doesn't get stuck in the gap? (janome skyline S5 has this) > Is this machine strong ? Can it handle jeans? > can this machine stich streath ahead and at the same time do a zigzag to protect the fabric from losing threats? so you don't need to by a locking machine? > i don't know if the janome has the free motion option? > Does the pfaff have a knee lever? Thank you!
I purchased this machine a few months ago. I love it, except for the reverse. When you hit the reverse, it will take one stitch forward before it goes in reverse. Then when I want to go straight again, it will take two stitches in reverse before it goes forward. Is there any way to change that?
Fantastic instructional video. I'm wanting to buy one but I'm in UK. My question is how reliable are they. I'm afraid the computer bit will break down?
I've had an old Lewenstein, that one was computerized and kept on going for more than 22 years. I traded it in for this Pfaff 230 because I wanted something new. There was never anything wrong with the computer at all! Have a little faith in your machine.
I have been trying free motion quilting on this machine, it is a new machine. I have tried free motion quilting several times before, but the thread comes up from the bottom to the top, what do I need to do with the tension, make the number higher or lower.
Why does my thread keep shredding. I am constantly threading and retreading the needle and changing the needle. This is happening whenI am free motion quilting.
I am choosing beetwen 155 en 630, and I am the starter and like also patchwork and quilting. Which one to take, please advise me? Thank you greatly in advance. Greatings from Holland, Julija
Hi! Found your post now...what mashine did you choose if i may ask? I'm looking for a quilting mashine, normal sewing mashines i have more than one, includet antique ones with handcrank but for big blankets i will need maybe more!
I live in Australia and am seriously thinking of buying this machine. I already own the Pfaff Passport 02 which I love but want something that I can keep at home and then use my Passport for sewing guild days and retreats. I loved your tutorial and learnt heaps from you, which make me want one more and more. What I would like to know is, will my k feet for my passport fit the Quilt Ambition 630 please? Also I have an extension table which came with my Passport, will it fit the Quilt Ambition 630 too please?
I know it`s late but: yes, the feet from your Pfaff passport fit the Ambition 630. The extension table unfortunately is too small.. but there is a table for the Ambition line.
I had just watched your video for the 720 and now I found the 630 and I had the machine myself for 1 year, but the reverse gear is really bad with the 630, and my 630 sometimes just kept sewing instead of going backwards So I sold it and I want to buy the 720, but I also don't understand Pfaff, why it brings out a really great machine that has the mistake of sewing backwards only after 3 more stitches. because then I had thread salad underneath, because the decorative thread is also thicker. It's a shame because actually the 630 is really great, but it was not possible to sew exactly. I hope you understand what I mean, I will translate this here.Regards from Germany and thanks for this Video
When I try to free motion quilt the machine doesn't stitch. Any ideas. Put the feed dogs up and change the foot and sews perfectly. Great video by the way!
When I use my zigzag stitch (5) I think it's a bit odd that the amount om milimeters the stitch should give ( I put in 3) only to be around 2 when I stitch with it. 3=2, when I put in 4 it becomes 3 on the fabric. This is a bit of a flaw. Am I the only one?
Is there any way to go in reverse without doing the three locking stitches at the start and end? I just want to go in reverse right away without the needle going up and down three times first as though it is a locking stitch.
No. It is either set reverse or the tie off. If you stop and hit reverse it does one stitch forward and then back. No way to go direct to reverse. I get round it by planning ahead and hit reverse just before I really need it.
I have a pfaff 7570 no one can make it work. It was in storage for 2 years now it won’t hardly sew. I took it to a shop they stated it was out of calibration. I don’t embroidery on it anymore just sew. Do you think you could fix it? Where are you at I’m in Farmington Missouri
Sara, I have no idea if you will see this but I wanted you to check and troubleshoot a very overlooked item on your Pfaff. I have the 7530 and I was ready to sell it off for parts until someone told me to check the battery that is found on the very bottom of the machine. I had totally forgotten about that battery. It has to do with running the computer portion of your machine and when I changed that battery my machine worked again. I also cleaned the battery contacts with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. Hope you see this and hope that is your problem too.
If the electronics still function then it can definitely be fixed. We are experts in repairing Pfaff sewing machines. We are located in Santa Rosa California. You can ship the machine but it must be packed really good
Stitch 4 pages 10 is a basting stitch, the machine makes 1 very small stitch, you then (manually) put your foot a little further and you let the machine make 1 small stitch again. This way you get a basting seam. You can determine the stitch length yourself and the seam can easily be pulled out again.
It was explained to me by a Pfaff demonstrator and she showed me that the number 4 baste stitch is not automatic baste. You move the machine to where you want the next stitch to be. To do automatic you can only use the longest straight stitch. To make it easy to remove change the tension so that it is looser top or bottom so that it sews but you can easily pull the loose thread to remove it. Not what I call baste! Hope this explains it enough.
Bonsoir pouvez-vous m’aider à avoir les explications en Français s’il vous plaît merci j’ai la machine depuis aujourd’hui mais le livre est en Italien merci

I bought this machine today. This tutorial has been fantastic to help me get to know my machine.

brilliant explanation and demo for my machine 👏 😀 👍

Hello, We just bought pfaff 630. The automatic ✂️ cuts only top thread, not both of them. What we are doing wrong? Thank in advance!

Thank you for this great video!
Thank you for the instructional video. Do you have to hold onto the thread tails at the back before starting to sew?
L N not if your using the standard presser foot and have your tail under the foot

Did you lower de presserfoot?

Is it possible to double and triple the stitch amount like on the 720? (=thickening the stitch )
Lena HEARTH No not on this model

Kunt u mij uitleggen hoe nr.4 van blz.10 te gebruiken is?

hello, can you (someone) explain me how to manage the stick number 4: basting stitch; is It with the screen/ how? Thanks a lot :) Ad

I have this same question-- too bad he doesn’t respond to questions.

Does the machine only store one stitch sequence at a time?
DJ- H Yes only one at a time
I wish the promotional video, even if it is a genre😌
Is it possible to start stitching a seam and not have a nest of threads in the beginning?
I have the same problem

Machine sounds very loud 😢
The reverse side of your stitching isn't great, the tension is all wrong. I was thinking of buying this machine but this has put me off.
