Chinese laser cutter axis problem

Mine does that sometimes, like once a month. Any idea what's causing it?

The same is for me? Why it does that? Too loose belts? Too big speed? Missed steps and position?

I replaced the stepper motor driver; that solved the problem

Yes this will affect you but if have you yours or in case your machine has a limit switch you can check also that the sensors

Just started today on my Y axis -- thinking the stepper motor needs to be replaced.

Turns out it was a belt too tight issue, 1/2 a turn loose and a lube of the ways worked.

could be the gantry is not square
