Making Many Different Soy Wax Melts - Frosting issues!

- In this video, I'm making lots of differently fragranced Wax Melts!
With Multiple colours. Using Soy Golden Wax 494. I got some frosting, as you will see in the video. Not sure what I did wrong, but thinking maybe I poured them too hot. If you can help, please let me know in the comments section.
The EcoSoy I used to use was frosting free every time, however, they ceased trading.

I am in remission for Anca Vasculitus it’s an Auto Immune Disease it attacked my kidneys so I’m on the tail end of a relapse at the moment so I know exactly how you feel this virus caused us to go into lockdown like never before my poor defacto lol he has to be very careful when he goes outside our house, he handles it well though we just have to get on with things the same as you do, take care my dear and yes Karen’s videos are a god send lol she is amazing as is her soaps I use them daily they’re very good for the skin my skin is very dry from the meds and Karen’s soaps are really marvellous and they smell devine too lol. Eve HSV I’m on immunosuppressants too. Been 16 years on them now. How are you finding getting out and about at the moment? I shielded for 4 months straight and still scared to go out there! Scary times for us on meds, especially auto-immune too as the virus triggers seems to trigger an immune reaction that attacks itself - like we already have! Xx
Sweet 2 Eat Baking Not going to lie it’s of grave concern to leave the house so I basically don’t the only time I do leave the house is for Drs appointments only and I don’t sit in the allocated waiting room I ask to be placed elsewhere and the the Drs staff always accommodates me. But yes we are extremely careful at all times. My husband is very good he always washes his hands when he comes home from work takes his work clothes off stays away from me until he showers as he likes to play with dog for awhile hubby also does all the shopping again he disinfects when he goes into the shop and out and again always washes his hands thoroughly before he comes near me. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful husband who understands my situation very well. We don’t have visitors and we don’t go anywhere lol.
Wow ten years is a very long time to be on suppressants I feel for you. This is the second time I’ve been on them I had a relapse last January the first time I was on them for 2and a half years this time ten months so far. Look after yourself stay home if you can it’s hard I know but with this virus we don’t have a choice it will kill me if I get it I’m a bronchial asthmatic to boot so yeh we are extremely on guard at all times it’s a case of have to lol. Take care of yourself. 😊

Oh also, I wanted to tell you that it helps a lot of you make a small 'slit' on the backside of the labels. Be careful you dont cut through the whole paper though. Keep up the great videos!

A lot of times as you are filling up the moulds I think "Oh!NO it is going to overflow and boy are you a perfectionaist. Real treat to watch, very relaxing. Hiya, I’ve been watching your videos recently and I find them very informative & interesting. I have made some wax melt after watching your video but my wax melts are not pppong out clean. They have frosting and stick to the mould a little. Please can you advise me on why this is happening. Thank you

hi I use silicone molds with soy wax but it is frosting when I unmold it. How do I fix it?? What temperature should I pour? Help 😭
Did you find a solution?
I'd try heating up the silicone molds, maybe in a microwave for a short period of time or by a hair dryer maybe?

i love the mould and the package that looks like chocolate. really awesome as usual. i never tried candels or melts. I think candles are not quite easy.

@@EdensSecret1 I have just finished Ecosoy advanced I am looking for a new wax, this wax you use looks good. I use the clam shells but your molds look much easier

TIP - this wax has terrible frosting issues for everybody that uses it. This wax LOVES hot silicone moulds, heat up your SILICONE mould for a 30 second intervals in the microwave, just before you pour the wax into the mould. But I now use a different wax EcoSoya Melt: (getting your hands on it is not easy though) suppliesforcandles.co.uk/product/ecosoya-melt-
So eco soya doesn’t frost or i still have to heat up the mould? I’m still learning about this frosting thing and it’s ruining my embeds 😫

Just found you earlier this evening. Before you applied the sticker wrap with the name of the scent on it what did you wrap around the wax bar to keep the scent enclosed inside? Thanks for some awesome videos! 😇

Hello! I love your videos! I want to start making wax melts so I have ordered soy wax off amazon (it is only 2kg but i am just starting. And I got a thermometer for the cooking, soap and candle dyes. And I also got pure essential oils however, I am wondering if it is ok to use essential oils and if 10ml is enough to make a decent amount. Thank you.
Did you heat your silicon first like you do to your video. And put them in fridge before unmoulding them?💛

Regarding the FO though,i am a little confused,i have seen many saying to measure your FO in grams and NOT mls,as all oils have different density,so 10mls can be different to 10g,and have heard that this can alter your CLP which can be a problem,aa y advice appreciated x

Do you melt the wax on a cooker fire?
use a heat gun lightly on molds before use..will stop frosting from the mold white stuff shows up..soy wax always frosts too can add bit of parrafin wax to the batch to prevent it and make a bit less soft

Just wondering if you realise your weighing fragance oil out while leaving the whisk in the pyrex? Hopefully your accounting for that in the weight and not just making slightly fraganced melts

Different waxes are better or worse for frosting, pouring at the lowest temperature works better for no frost - but I find the best wax is Ecosoya Melt I get no frosting when using that wax
@@EdensSecret1 Thanks for the reply. I used Eco soya wax. It was my first time and a bit crazy trying to get everything mixed at the right temperature. Next time I’ll pour at a cooler temp (poured at 62.5 degrees C) - like to make notes 📝

How do I stop the frosting on GW494 wax 😫 what is the best solution for this as it dose not look pleasant on my melts and unable to sell. Xxx
The best way is to add about 10 to 20 percent paraffin wax.
@@EdensSecret1 I'm changing my wax totally to the kearax 4600 but keeping my c3 container blend soywax for my jar candles as I won't be using colours for them.

Hi Karen, I'm loving your videos! I wonder if you can offer me any help? I have just started making wax melts and I am having a few problems. I am using the same wax, golden wax 494 and also the same moulds from siliconemoulds.com. The problem I am am having is my melts are sticking in the moulds, I am leaving them for around 3 hours beforen removing them but sometimes the break up or stick inside the mould. Also, do you wash your moulds inbetween uses, I have been and wondered if this was the problem. Many thanks X

Do you take the temperature of the wax before you add fragrance or before you pour? You may be doing both too hot if you're getting frosting.

Hi. I Love your videos. Stumbled across them while looking for help. I'm just starting out, not at the selling stage yet. Having trouble getting my snap bars out the moulds intact. Lots of missing edges and corners. Very frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated. xx
What do you use to package your melts? Is that shrink wrap? Can you tell us where you got your molds?
I know it as butchers wrap, but it's just clear cellophane really.

How do you correct the frosting issues??
I think it was the soy wax, I’m now using kerasoy pillar wax which is working better, I’ve also heard parafin wax is better!
Is that still vegan friendly? My wife is wanting to make vegan friendly melts but having frosting issues at the minute with c3 soy wax. Any workarounds or vegan additives to help? Thanks

Oil and wax both need to be measured in grams anyway just because not all oils are equal in density xx

Soy wax is prone to frosting its 100% normal and will happen even if you take a heat gun and skim the tops itll come back. Its a sign that you are using 100% true soy wax and customers typically don't care. Even larger candle companies who use soy cannot avoid frosting. Mixing the soy with paraffin or coconut blend eliminates frosting.

I just wanted to say that me and my Grandmother are starting a Candle business and I saw your video when you got a whole lot of tart molds and was wondering if you could maybe include us in the giveaway and tell you that we love your videos and love all the tips they are very informative with information that we need to learn how to handle our little job that we are using to give people a nice sent thro in their home with candles and tarts. we also love you tart packaging. We have ordered a few of the wrapper that you put on the tarts are so very cute and they remind me of a chocolate bar. One thing were are having a hard time with is labels. About 90, I added the fragrance at 75 and poured at 60 F
