I used to play a cassette of this when my parents and I were going to Baguio, just as we were entering Kennon road. My father would sing along with her. He sung terribly, but my memories of Cely's beautiful sensitive voice and my parents will always be with me till I die.
i agree with apoakonicely to give ms. cely bautista a sort of lifetime achievement award for kundiman or tagalog songs she had recorded... ms. cely deserves it, together with the mabuhay singers (but some of them had already passed away)...

CELY BAUTISTA MAY 4, 1939 -- SEPTEMBER 27, 2018 THE JUKEBOX QUEEN OF THE 1950's Maria Cecilia Pimentel Bautista, better known as Cely Bautista, was a popular Filipino singer from the 1950s to the 1960s. Bautista began her singing career at the early age of 7. She was discovered by Pete Ancheta, and was made to sing as part of the duo The Wonder Kids. In 1954 Eddie San Jose introduced her on radio as Cely Bautista. He became her manager and, later, her husband. She was a regular talent on the programs Star Time and Midday Jamboree over DZFM. Afterwards she was paired with Ruben Tagalog in DZFM's "Harana". She was also taken by composer Danny Holmsen to sing for Anita Linda in the movie Por Bida Gid in 1954. Bautista had no formal training in singing except for the coaching of Eddie San Jose, Ruben Tagalog, and Ben Torres. At 15, she had recorded more than 50 singles. Her songs, "Irog, Ako ay Mahalin", featured in the movie 'Sawa Ng Lumang Simbahan', and "Hinahanap Kita", featured in the movie 'Pedro Penduko', 1954, topped the jukebox charts. From 1957 to 1975, Bautista was a contract singer of Villar Records, where she did 12 Long-Playing albums. She recorded new compositions with a kundiman flavor and revived immortal Tagalog songs such as 'Dahil Sa Iyo', 'Hindi Kita Malimot', 'Maalaala Mo Kaya', and 'Ang Tangi Kong Pag-ibig'. She also became a member of the Mabuhay Singers, a group formed under Villar-Mareco Records in 1958 under the music direction of Leopoldo Silos.
Oo nga po, aktibo pa rin siya at ang Mabuhay Singers. Nagkakanta po sila sa programang "Harana ng Puso" sa DWBR 104.3 MHz (FM) tuwing Linggo, 8-9 ng gabi po. :)
