The '94 Pontiac Firebird is a perfect vehicle, with a futuristic line, that does not clash with today's models... a classic that is a pride and luxury to drive. one of my favorite cars....
Relaxing to hear from you after a long, long day Bill. The accurate cynicism, the raspy smoker's voice, COVID whiskey, and the unbridled GM enthusiasm. You are a gem sir.
I had this car - '94 in black. The quality was so much better than my '83 Z-28 or my '91 Z-28! It was a blast to drive and a pleasure to own. I wish I still had it. Mine had T-Tops and the 6 speed manual!
My mom dated a lot of guys in my lifetime, but the one that always stands out was a collector of firebirds of all generations. I remember he had a tuned 4th gen WS6 with the LS1, that thing got flying colors on the butt-dyno
The only car I ever ordered in my life is still sitting in my garage...a 1994 Pontiac Trans-Am with 17,000 miles. It's a 6-speed, has American Racing chrome wheels and Yokohoma tires, T-Top and Royal Bobcat badges courtesy Jim Wangers. Different throttle body (finned) and I put a RamAir hood with SLP intake. Still as much fun as when I bought it. Runs great. After two failed optis, I put an MSD in it and never had another problem. I have Pacesetter headers for it, but haven't put them on. Also put a JEGs skip shift module on, too. Color? White with gray interior. Also, the chip to allow it to go over 118 MPH as it is not the GT model.
If you switch to the 1996 design Optispark it's better. They redesigned it with better ventilation and it lasts longer. My 96 Buick Roadmaster has almost 168k miles on the original Optispark. And I had a water pump failure that poured coolant all over it at about 150k miles
Nice car Sir. Congratulatons!! Never sell her!!! My Trans Am its green with brown (beige) interior. OEM T56 like yours. six +R. With Hurst shifter. Nice car to drive!!!
My cousin’s ex had a ‘94 black Formula. Loved that car. Very stealthy (except for the exhaust) and not over-styled like the Trans Am. Like the ex, it’s gone.
Smart ,funny ,good car review ,what not to like .I sub to at least 30 tubers & when I get the notification I drop the video I'm watching and I watch the best in the biz.

My 2002 Camaro can spin tires without much noise from a stop in drive. However put the selector into low and floor it and the tires spin making lots of noise, smoke and two thick black strips. That's what I call going for a spin.
95 Formula is my first pony car, and v8. I loved that car, and those lt1 motors were good. But now I own a 2000 Trans Am ws6 with t tops and six speed manual with an ls1. This is the coolest car I own so far. I wish I can keep the formula to. But it had to go.
Bill, I seem to remember an interview I saw with James Garner where he said that the Firebirds he drove on the 'Rockford files' where all actually debadged Formulas.
LMAO at the previous owner's human foot collection. Another great review. I am around your age and remember when the 4th gens came out. Good stuff. The 98=02 WS6 trans am is still the best looking 4th gen.
Great video. Very informative. I have red TransAm from 1993 and for some strange reason back bumper on my TransAm looks exactly like the one on this Formula and it has dual exhaust pipes with tips curved down and the same spoiler on the back. The car was imported to Germany in 1993. My red Camaro V6 from 1998 was also imported to Germany. It was made in Canada for European market, owners book written in German and it has heated seats and underbody protection which American cars never had, as I red on some forum. Pontiac has 49k original miles (converted from km) with full service history from day one. Camaro V6 has 62k miles but no service book. Both of them are keepers. I really like your videos. Big thanks.
The 2002 trans ams are the most beautiful cars in the world. When i was a kid i got to ride in a gold trans am with a 6 speed manual transmission and a v8. I fell in love with those cars after that. I have not seen another gold one since then. But they came in that color believe it or not.
I have a 87 3rd Gen Formula.. but it's the TPI 350 which they made 1500 of that year special order. Has the WS6 suspension, 4 wheel disk and the 350 just like the corvette of that year without the aluminum heads. I love the car...
Hey Bill, wanted to thank you, for making all the videos on the colonnades car made by GM,which are my favorite cars . Had 74 Chevelle Malibu classic.350c.i. With swivel bucket seats. Would be awesome if you could find a Laguna S-3 and do a video. ( I gave Dalton a tip on window cleaning) Thanks again.

Man I LOVE Firebirds.. I wanted one so bad growing up and when I was finally out of the house and working and could afford a car Pontiac had stopped making them!! The Firebird and Pontiac itself is so criminally overlooked when it comes to car history and even representation in things like videogames. The videogame Gran Turismo has been around for ages and is almost a history book of cars and the only time you might see a Firebird in it it's the Second gen versions. Nothing from the 80s/90s/2000s. My brother owned a late 90s firebird and say what you want about the build quality but that thing was FUN to drive.
This was a great car. I had one a 95 firehawk back in the day. It was the most fun car ever. Thanks for your great review choices , I still have a new ss camaro..it has the same spirit.

"Creeping up on the wrong side of 50." I just turned 49 this year. Was called pops by some punk asking me for a dollar while I was sitting in my 91Camaro. Own that and and an 88 Trans Am GTA. Gotta live it before I die..which ain't far off. Not sick just almost 50. Same thing.
27:30 that key chip thing saved our old 89 Turbo TA from being stolen while staying all night in Dallas once.. all they managed to do was bust the steering column to pieces, and for some reason they stole the T-Tops.. but at least we still had the car! wonderful little invention that chip thing
McQ was a 73. Rockford's car was actually a rebadged Formula. They removed the hood abd spoiler and deconted it to an Esprit but needed the 400 engine.
Whiskey and Pills is a great Billy Idol song. I drove a Z28 with this same powertrain back in 93. Was very impressed with it compared to the 205hp 4.9 Mustang.

I love a subtle, powerful, but comfortable coupe. I wish Chevy would do a Berlinetta package for the current Camaro before it goes electric or completely disappears.
My summer car for 11 years--a pewter 1999 Camaro Z28 convertible, LS1 V8 aluminum engine, black top, grey leather interior, chrome 15" wheels disc brakes all corners, limited slip rear, all power. 300 hp +, Borla exhaust, 12 CD changer in the trunk. Fast, quiet looks, dependable, but it roars ever so slightly. Love this car during moonlit nights. Like a music video. Bought on a whim ($12K, 69K miles), no regrets. Now at 76K miles. Oil, brakes, tires, only inputs. I do understand what you mean with the Berlinetta. 400 horse V8, 6 sp manual or auto, subtle paint, supple leather or alacantra interior, roomy 2+2 seating, all power, designed to handle. A $40-50K would sell like hotcakes.

Thanks for bringing another 4th gen F body our way even though I thought at the time this was the least attractive nose between the the cousins, including the catfish. Completely agree with your comment about the equalizer. Same goes for my seat position. I hate when I go in for service and it comes back with the seats f’ed up so much that Bigfoot could drive it. Just push the damn memory button !
After the Smokey and the Bandit Firebird, the one I think of most often from TV/Film is Jim Rockford's Firebird Esprit with the 400 cid. I still like to pull a Rockford when I need to change directions on the highway. The 4th Gen Firebird looks sweet. The 285 HP it put out seems quaint by today's standards but it was potent back in the day. I'm beginning to think the Cordoba is an Urban Legend. I'm looking forward to Bill proving me wrong.
Love Jim's gold firebird so much I made a replica here I the UK. Mines a 77 formula 400 with a 3 speed auto trans . Not fast but love cruising around nice and slowly
One was featured in the movie The dear hunter and another in a film called Hickey and boggs starring Bill Cosby. it was a 72 model in gold that got shot up during a gun battle.l still have my 94 formula that I bought new in May of 94. I miss the hell out of Pontiac .
These we're cool cars for sure! I was working at a Pontiac dealer and I used to porter these when they either came in off these trailer and when they sold we'd take them out for a serious beat and clean.. we'd beat the hell outta them. Lol. Fun days.
“Don’t fuck with the equalizer” haha I love Bill. Also don’t fuck with my seat adjustments. Especially when I take it to a shop and the mechanic drives it 2 miles and I get back in and everything is messed up. It’s one of the reasons why I do all work on my cars now.
The '94 Pontiac Firebird is a perfect vehicle, with a futuristic line, that does not clash with today's models... a classic that is a pride and luxury to drive. one of my favorite cars....

Love these from the moment I first saw one new. Had a 94 Firebird, 94 Trans Am GT convertible, and 00 Camaro convertible. Good reliable fun.
They only confused me when they came out. Thanks for going over the history.
Almost 100k. Congrats!
One was featured in the movie The dear hunter and another in a film called Hickey and boggs starring Bill Cosby. it was a 72 model in gold that got shot up during a gun battle.l still have my 94 formula that I bought new in May of 94. I miss the hell out of Pontiac .
This era of body style Firebirds are all over the place up here in Central PA near the capital. After watching your video I can see the appeal.
Thanks Bill.
These we're cool cars for sure! I was working at a Pontiac dealer and I used to porter these when they either came in off these trailer and when they sold we'd take them out for a serious beat and clean.. we'd beat the hell outta them. Lol. Fun days.
I love the weather reports
Hey Bill hope you've been keeping well and safe.
“Don’t fuck with the equalizer” haha I love Bill. Also don’t fuck with my seat adjustments. Especially when I take it to a shop and the mechanic drives it 2 miles and I get back in and everything is messed up. It’s one of the reasons why I do all work on my cars now.
