Yes, I said that I tried the co-wash in this video and I said that you can check the description box for my review of that product. Perhaps you missed that?
I absolutely love the As I Am Double Butter, and it is the only one I have tried so far!! I am getting ready to purchase the As I Am Leave In Conditioner ASAP!!!!!
Ran across your video because I wanted to hear what your thoughts were on the As I Am Buttercream. I use quite a few of their products and I love them. Btw, your hair is beautiful!!!
I have yet to try the As I Am line but I've heard many great things. Butters and thick creams are go to moisturizers for my super thick hair. I may have to try their Double Butter Cream. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
Great review! I loved the cowash so much that I randomly decided to buy the twist defining cream and all I can say is WOW! Two staple products from this line, maybe three if try this doublebutter cream now lol
Thanks for the review.Question since you are a product reviewer how & what do you use for storage when your product are not in use or natural to prevent product spoilage?Your help is appreciated .
I didn't mean to hurt you in any way. But lets look at what the situation is at hand. You are a business looking to sell a product. I am a woman reviewing a product. Your issues with the company are personal to you so you have a sensitivity that I of course dont have. When reviewing this product I am looking at the effects of the product on my hair. I have to remain unbiased to give a quality review. I'm sorry that you have had issues with them, but telling people to not buy it isn't right.
How do you suggest someone like me do that research? Is this something that will take a lot of time to do? And then is it fair for me to say in my video "Oh by the way, they don't let black people sell their product?" I don't think the company would like that at all. Please keep in mind, I am a brand. This channel is an extension of my online business. Making statements like this could hurt my brand in more then one way. As sated before I'm very sorry about the issues you've faced.
I know what you mean. If you buy a product, you should read the description and the directions along with the ingredients. The product says "...Shampoo again if needed". That right there tells you that it is a shampoo. BUT the company needs to be more direct and clear in their packaging. So I really am happy that I clarified that this is a shampoo for my viewers.
2 uses???? you are using wayy too much. I used it for 5 days, adding some each night and I still have a lot left. You don't need to be heavy handed and if you apply in sections you can save a lot of product.
@blakizbeautyful As I Am is my favorite product line. The coconut co-wash, leave in, double butter cream, hydration elation, and smoothing gel are my go to products. However, I was disappointed with the curling jelly. It gave my curls & coils great definition but it left my hair soooo white and flaky when it dried. :( These products can be a little expensive but they are perfect for my 3c/4a hair.
The doublebutter cream is $28 bucks for a 16oz. jar. Ouch! I love the look and results that it gave Jenell in this beautiful twist out. However, that price is wayyy too expensive for me and out of my budget:( Dang!
Good question, I usually give things away. Just last night two of my girlfriends took samples of like 8 different products. LOL I have products under my sink in the bathroom, and on a shelf and even some in boxes.
Haha, Im happy you read the description box to see that I've updated it. I really appreciate that because I usually put info in the box, but now its much more extensive and if others check the description box they will be pleasantly surprised.
Beautiful twist out!!!! Tried the As I am cowash but found it a little drying. My hair doesn't like shampoo or cleansers. I guess I'll have to do a pre-poo. before.
Awwww youre so sweet. Thank you for being so sweet. It does take a lot of time to film, edit, and upload. I do it because i love it and really want to help. Glad to hear that you are givng your hair TLC that is so important.
Hello I would love to be a prt of the give away... I just did the big chop 2 weeks now so all of tese products are new to me.. I really reaaly appreciate all of the education you share, because i'm still learning.. thank you
great review! I was eyeballing those products. I went into Sally's and they are expensive. No doubt, but with your review I might make a sacrifice. hahaha thanks for the review.
Great video! I use the As I Am leave- in conditioner, the smoothing gel and the Coconut co-wash. All three are AWESOME! I've been eyeballing the double butter cream as a moisturizer. I may buy it on sale. It's a bit pricy and I know I would use it every night as a moisturizer when I remoist my hair for bed. Thanks again
I understand. I will say that I would not review again product without first checking to see if it would carried by black suppliers. We have lost everything, although not all their fault, but there would be no way I would be helping them.
I'd been eyeballing the double butter creme but hadn't Gerard anything as far as its performance. I'm big on twistouts so I'll def be going across the st to Sally's to cop a jar! Thnx! Keep the reviews coming!
I have used the Coconut CoWash, and i must sy I really like the way my hair felt afterwards. It was very soft, and curls were defined. I have very dry hair, so I was satisfied with the amount of moisture I received in my hair. I also have the leave in conditioner, moisture milk daily hair revitalizer, hydration elation intensive conditioner, CoCoShea moisturizer, and finally the twist defining cream, I guess I have a haul :). I guess I would say I like As I Am products :).
I am so glad!!!! I watched this video, I didnt even know about curtmart. Ahhhhhh I can take my time they have every section on there. Christimas for me.
Jenell, thank you for all you have done to help my wonderful, newly natural daughter! We were so confused as to what to do with her hair until we found your blog. Please enter me in your contest so my daughter can have these wonderful products. I followed you here and on twitter. My youtube user name is dottiej77 and my twitter handle is dottiecullotta Thanks again, Jenell! :-)
Enter me for a chance at one of the Double butter creams pretty please. AS I AM is my favorite product line. I enjoy the coconut Cowash, love the leave in conditioner and the deep conditioner. I use the double butter cream and the twist defining cream for my twist outs with great results. I am going to try tit with just the double butter cream and some jbco! Thanks as always for the tips and inspiration.
I have been a subscriber of yours for a couple years now. Yes it does mean. When you are pushing products that are made for Blacks to buy and they will not let Blacks carry it. You are reviewing it. That's what is wrong with us as a people now. I cannot believe you wrote that. I am not asking you to dog them out but when you have people that listen to your advise and say it has nothing to do with your review hurts. People take your reviews seriously and if you don't care than why should they.
I didn't buy this previously because it said it provided a light hold. After watching this review I bought it. I used a liberal amount on my undefined tight kinky hair. Best twist-out ever and I got it overnight. I used a liberal amount and still no flakes. For my hair, it has a much better hold than their twist defining cream. It was more of a styler than moisturizer. But that's ok, there's lots of great moisturizer in the market, but not a lot of natural stylers that have great hold. Thanks!
Hey Janelle! Will the shampoo be enough to remove heavy product build up? I usually use all Shea moisture products, but when I want extra hold I turn to Carols daughter healthy hair butter which you might know has beeswax in it. Right now I just use Suave clarifying shampoo, followed by shea moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo when I have to get rid of product build up...or I will use the shea moisture purification mask followed by shea moisture moisture retention shampoo. Thanks in Advance!!!!
Your hair is gorgeous. I agree with you regarding both these products. Although the cleansing pudding is good, I have something which works well. However the double butter is The One!! I've also tried the smoothing gel which was ok. I have had trouble smoothing down my edges no matter what I've tried and this product has behaved as others. It works well initially but as the day goes my edges don't remain flat. Love your videos.
Your hair looks AMAZING love! But I am here to say AS I AM products can "bite me". They do not packaged their items that are convenient for the consumer. The co wash & cleansing pudding both come in open jars. Now what sense does that make? I was not impressed with the cleansing co wash and although your review is amazing on the double butter cream it is too damn expensive to not be 100% organic. Please...I'm not spending almost 30.00 bucks for any one product. Not unless it is multi functional.
You do a great job with honest reviews, ty. Ive seen As I Am at Sally's and contemplated on purchasing a couple products but passed them by. But since your review, I will be purchasing 2 products from that line. I also use Shea Moisture and the line works great for me. In between Shea Moisture I'll use Wen 613.-I use Wen as my upper-echelon hair care product about once monthly and go back to Shea Moisture. I think that little break does good for my hair/scalp.
I have seen lots of reviews about the cleansing pudding that are not good. They complain that this cleansing pudding dried their hair out over a period of time. The people I seen review this product used it for a period of time. I really think the name of this product is confusing to many. Some think it is a cleansing conditioner or co wash. Just looking at the name "cleansing pudding" quickly I see why some would think this. The fact that it is a "shampoo" would make a difference n review.
It does have a hefty price tag, but in this case the product does exactly what's intended. Oh I fell in love with this line and without knowing the extent of what I just wrote... I purchased the twist defining curl cream months ago and never used it until last night and all I can say is OMG!!!! I love this product! Will definitely try the entire line
Very thorough review Jenell, thank you. I use the coconut cowash my BFF gave me (check her channel out at Rondia71) & absolutely love it. I was looking for a good styler/moisturizer, & will def try this. My hair is also 4B & I have a hard time finding good products w/out a lot of sulfates, etc in them & that give me a good twistout. Thanks again!
Hi Jenell thanks so much for your feedback. There's 2 things that I know I need to do. 1. I need to try another product with enough hold and 2.When I separate my twists I'm not separating them where it naturally separates which I noticed causes frizz. So I'll let u know my results once I give this a try!! Thanks again!!
As watching the progression of photos I was like, day 4 was the best day, the came day 5 and I was like yesss! I tried the co wash and love it, the cleaning pudding made my hair a little too squeaky clean and the twist defining cream was meh. But you got me wanting to try the double butter cream, my husband just going to have to be mad, lol ; )!
I knew I should not have watched this video! Your reviews are great and I started using As I am products a month ago. Now I HAVE to buy the Double Butter Creme! Dang it! Wait, I see a comment that says it is thirty bucks! Even with my Sally's discount and coupon that may be enough to stop this product junkie! I love the co wash so far and the Moisture Milk.
I do have some of the products in the line. Those being the co-wash and the cleansing pudding.I am really impressed with the products thus far. However I am with the other ladies. That being said the remainder of the line is over priced.I would be more open as a consumer to just try products even if they are a fail if the price is resonable.Thank you very much for the review.
thanks for the review and word from the wise no matter what you do and say in life, you will never be able to please everyone, PPL WILL ALWAYS HAVE THEIR SAY... so do you and answer to your higher power ONLY.. KEEP REVIEWING BB WE NEED U..PEACE IN JERSEY....
lol noooo that was Definitely an exaggeration but the product just does not last long for me! I've chosen to stick to cowashing with homemade ingredients and shampoo twice a month...usually with shea moisture's shampoo. I like this pudding but its definitely a luxury item for me
I used the coconut cowash after u did the review on it ... Its really good ... Its soooo moisturizing and cleans pretty good ... I am gonna buy the double butter cream now dat I can ur gorgeous twistout... Mine barely last 2 days with retwisting
I love the double cream...its the only thing that gives me super definition on my 4c hair. ..and ot leaves it feeling soft and moisturized...they also have a smoothing gel that's good for laying down edges...:)
Hello my you tube name is sharon wright I want to enter the giveaway I really love your channel it has been so inspiring to us and very informative to help us along the way and for that I say thank you soo much Sharon
The cleansing pudding is all I was my hair with. I'm not into con washing. The cleansing pudding is love. I pre poo when I use it only because it's faster to wash that way. I'm about to get that double butter cream tho!
OMG the Double Butter Cream is heaven on earth! I was already using the Cleansing Pudding which I really like but the butter cream is ridiculous. Thank you for the extra push to try it out. We're getting married!!!!
I have the coconut co-wash and I love it. I have been wanting to get some other products, but I have have so much from the Hair show that have to try first. You know finding your staple products is so hard.
I just want to tell you thank you for taking your time to record a video, I understand that it it hard work, but you have motivated me to love my hair and be patient with her.Believe me she is warming up to my TLC. lol
Thanks for your honest review on BOTH items and in great detail. I use the co-wash. I love the cowash on my daughters hair... not a fan on my hair. But her hair has more of a kinky text and mine is more coily.
The Cleansing pudding is only $10.50 for an 8 oz, $18 for a 16 oz. That's VERY affordable. When you said expensive I thought it was in the realm of Miss Jessie's price range. I'm going to have to look into this.
although your older than me i just think you are the cutest thing ever! you come off so sweet and kind in your videos which makes me want to watch any and ever vid you put out :) -greetings from queens, ny :)
I've had great success with the line. My wng with the curling jelly with the double butter cream as my styler is my fav combo. I just love your results from day to day; they never seemed to vary.
Great review! I have been wanting to try the dbc, but that price is too high! Lol I'm waiting to get my Sally 15% off coupon before I purchase. If I don't like it I will return that sucker in a hot minute!
I've tried the double butter cream, thanks to you and i love it! Thanks for ur videos and by the way ii'm almost out. My birthday is this month and winning that would be GREAT!
Please please do a review of the twist defining creme. I have used it and it is amazing but I would love the hear your review of it and how it compares to the double butter creme
I have been natural for almos two years. And for some reason I have not grasp the concept of sealing moisture in your hair. I would love for you to do a video of how you seal your hair.
I have so many products bcuz I was a product junkie, but I am now in Rehab, until I use up all of the stuff that is under my bathroom sink. But I still like watching ur reviews.
Awww thanks for noticing! When people point it out, it really helps to keep me motivated. Thank you so much for saying something.
Is your hair really wet? Are you twisting in small enough sections? Are you using a product with hold? are you allowing your hair to dry?
Like of the products I have? I give a lot of things away after I review them.
Ran across your video because I wanted to hear what your thoughts were on the As I Am Buttercream. I use quite a few of their products and I love them. Btw, your hair is beautiful!!!
Love the smell of the double butter cream but I have yet to use it on a twist out.
Great question, I actually do, I give them to friends and family.
Lovely hair and excellent review!
Youre welcome love and Amen to your comment!
the cowash makes my hair feel indescribably strange
I have yet to try the As I Am line but I've heard many great things. Butters and thick creams are go to moisturizers for my super thick hair. I may have to try their Double Butter Cream. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
Great review! I loved the cowash so much that I randomly decided to buy the twist defining cream and all I can say is WOW! Two staple products from this line, maybe three if try this doublebutter cream now lol
I love the co wash I use it on my 3 year old as well
Yes hunty! I NEEDS (lol) the DoubleButter Cream in my life...so please enter me!
I just ordered the double cream I cannot wait to try it! :-)
Thanks for the review.Question since you are a product reviewer how & what do you use for storage when your product are not in use or natural to prevent product spoilage?Your help is appreciated .
Oooh this is a great video idea. Thanks, I'll be sure to shout you out.
im sorry about the challenges youve had, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the products or even my review.
Love your look
Great review - thanks!
MzMidget....LOVED watching this video and more so LOVED your results I can't wait
Thanks for the info. I have 4c hair and I was looking for something that would lay down my edges.
I didn't mean to hurt you in any way. But lets look at what the situation is at hand. You are a business looking to sell a product. I am a woman reviewing a product. I have to remain unbiased to give a quality review. I'm sorry that you have had issues with them, but telling people to not buy it isn't right.
Do you put the castor oil on your hair every evening before you go to bed? Or do u just twist it with no extra products and go to sleep?
YES!!! Every day looked like Day 1 hair. My hair loved this product.
How do you suggest someone like me do that research? Is this something that will take a lot of time to do? And then is it fair for me to say in my video "Oh by the way, they don't let black people sell their product?" I don't think the company would like that at all.

The first time I used it (as shown in this video) I did not use a leave in. Just oil then the double butter cream. But now I use it with a leave in.
I think I might re-try the double butter cream! Great Video!
I used the twist defining cream back in the day and It wasn't all of that, but perhaps I'd be able to use it better now.
I will try to do those when I can but those are very challenging to do you know? Im happy to have you as a supporter.
I would like to try this..
Awesome. all you have to do is leave your YT name on the post on my website. Thanks love!
you said coconut jb castor oil is that right? its coconut and castor oil?
@blakizbeautyful As I Am is my favorite product line. The coconut co-wash, leave in, double butter cream, hydration elation, and smoothing gel are my go to products. However, I was disappointed with the curling jelly. It gave my curls & coils great definition but it left my hair soooo white and flaky when it dried. :( These products can be a little expensive but they are perfect for my 3c/4a hair.
I forgot to mention, the Indian lady also owns Kericare if you want to review that as well. Have a wonderful day!
The doublebutter cream is $28 bucks for a 16oz. jar. Ouch! I love the look and results that it gave Jenell in this beautiful twist out. However, that price is wayyy too expensive for me and out of my budget:( Dang!
I have reviewed kera care in the past. They were pretty good products too.
Have you tried the co wash?
sally's is having a BOGO sale right now I think until monday 1-13-14 I just ordered mine. Thanks for the review, I didnt order the cleansing pudding(:
Great video I love your hair.

Beautiful twist out!!!! Tried the As I am cowash but found it a little drying. My hair doesn't like shampoo or cleansers. I guess I'll have to do a pre-poo. before.
Yea, the girls said it was expensive. Everyone has a different value on expensive. You should definitely look into this.
Would love to try this product. Been natural for 7 years and now on the path to healthy hair "crosses fingers for luck" sincerely Beemsbond
Awwww youre so sweet. Thank you for being so sweet. It does take a lot of time to film, edit, and upload. I do it because i love it and really want to help. Glad to hear that you are givng your hair TLC that is so important.
Thanks so much love. This is what I look like when I lose weight and put on makeup. LOLOLOLOL!!!
LOVE the intro!!!!!!!!!! gets me moving! lol
This Twist Out is the BOMB!! I am going buy this TODAY. Well Friday when I get paid. Love It.

I will ABSOLUTELY buy the Double Butter Cream!!! I have tried KCCC and Eco Styler and its just not hot for my 4b!!!!!

I'm going to have to look into this.
although your older than me i just think you are the cutest thing ever! you come off so sweet and kind in your videos which makes me want to watch any and ever vid you put out :)
-greetings from queens, ny :)
