For some reason I'm thinking of another ghost town, one in BC. Company-owned, company-run; to prevent the theft of lightbulbs from the company buildings, they had ones specially marked "Stolen Lightbulb." Didn't work, at least not according to those who'd been children in that town when it existed- "It wasn't until I was ten that I realized there wasn't actually a Stolen Lightbulb Company anywhere!"
