Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets.

I love how Hornet's voice effects sound like some of the vocal effects in those Vocaloids, EDMs, nightcores,...
Had the Indie Cross CDs for a good while, so I've heard this song before, but now I can make my thoughts on it public in detail!
What I think I love the most about Silk is how, compared to every other IC song, its atmosphere is so significantly not a confrontation. Cuphead, Sans, and Bendy's weeks all had songs that were very much structured like... Well, a rap battle. You could very much hear the tension between both opponents, even if somewhat casual in the cases of Cuphead and Sans (mostly). By comparison, this song feels much more like a performance - like both characters are performing a beautiful duet. In my opinion, this really captures the nature of Hollow Knight extremely well - compared to the other three games in IC, Hollow Knight is less about battles and confrontations, and moreso about travelling, exploring new areas and seeing what awaits. I think Silk nails that aesthetic perfectly.
I also appreciate how the song is still kinda high energy despite this vibe. I certainly wouldn't have expected a song in this genre to fit Hollow Knight, what with the original game's orchestral and atmospheric score, but it works very well! It allows the player/listener to be really engaged with a much more relaxed song, which is a feat I think some composers in the FNF scene struggle to capture.
I also love the usage of Hornet's lil GARRAMAHs. :)
Tl;dr, song is peak, nails the HK vibe perfectly. One of my favorites from Indie Cross, might be my favorite of the HK week but we'll see.

Fun fact, technically Cuphead's still the only protagonist you battle in Indie Cross's story. Hornet's a boss fight in two instances, though ultimately an ally (protagonist being just a little guy, but then again Knight kinda also has no voice to cry sorrow or sing). She's the protagonist in Silksong, but that's yet to be released. Meanwhile Sans is the final boss of Undertale's Genocide route, but otherwise just a side character. Ink Bendy's the main villain in his game with Sammy as his devoted cultist.
[The only other protagonist you'd fight is maybe Untitled Goose, then Frisk/Chara appear in Week 2's cutscenes. Guess this shows protagonists aren't as iconic in these games (although at least Madeline of Celeste and Issac of Binding are apparently getting in as side songs).]
