    Thanks for putting in the work to find the coho...I live 1/4 mile from the Clack at Cross Park and am itching to get my line wet, but Willamette Falls counts are low. Do you prefer that pink squid skirt over other colors? I know you probably havent done enough to say if one color combo is better than another. Tight lines brother!

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Doug Sparks - hey Doug, it’s my pleasure. I’m out there like everyone else trying to put in the work to find some fish.
      The counts ARE low, it’s disappointing.
      The pink and green has been the most effective for me but I wouldn’t say it’s the best, it is just the best for the specific conditions that I use it in. I fish with every spinner that I make but wouldn’t feel confident enough in saying any combo is better than the other but that’s only because we never really know what the color has to do with a fish biting. We typically catch something on a color and become more confident in it, then start using it more than other colors, therefor catching more fish on that color, and then begins the “this color/combo is better”
      I could be wrong but I’ve caught fish first cast with crazy color combos... did it have anything to do with the color? I have no clue lol.
      Hope you find yourself some fish.
      Winter steelhead season is on its way and I’m super excited for it.
      Good luck 🎣

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dan M - hey Dan, It really depends on how much rain we actually get but by the sound of it I’d imagine that the river will be high and dirty. If we do get an inch of rain tonight then it’s probably going to be blown out. Though the mountain will be getting snow I think the freezing level is high enough that we will be getting a lot of water dumped into that river. I’m going to go take a look in the morning.

I’m not banking on that ... because this story comes from someone that ate just about anything....lol ...

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW

    Can you not keep wild chinook on the sandy? Also what color or type of your lures would you recommend? Caught my biggest chinook yesterday it was about 25 pounds also caught a wild coho. My dad hooked a giant chum salmon and it broke him off. About half an hour later I went downstream to fish with a lure and I snagged my dad's line. I handlined the chum in about 5 ft off the bank and the hook popped out. Still, fun to see a big chum I thought they were a small fish.

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fredthegamer SCHRARDER - no you cannot keep wild chinook on the Sandy.. that’s why I’m ALWAYS checking the regs before I fish somewhere. Some places you can, others you can’t. Oh man chum are cool looking. That’s an awesome story about hooking your dads line lol. I don’t really recommend one color over the other, too many conditions to consider. I like pinks, purples, blues, and chartreuse but I throw them all.

    Do you prefer using single hooks rather than treble on spinners? Great video!

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Bain - honestly I don’t really prefer one over the other. Trebles snag less but don’t always get a good clean hookset. Single hooks, in my opinion, get a better and cleaner hookset & snag less. For me it comes down to the type of water and what my chances of catching native fish are. If there are a lot of natives and unkeepable fish I use single hook mostly. .. cleaner hookset and easier to release
