I think FS17 graphics are more smooth and easy for the eye... and from far camera angle it looks better. FS19 is amazing improvement in many parts, the lightning is just 100 better, but with some tv's and screens it can look bad. I think FS17 was great product and it was game changer. FS19 will of course include patches to make more improvements in the future
FS19 Needs more updates. The graphics can be way better. There should be way more things to do and more details

I've been playing FS 13 for 5 years now, i just updated to FS 19 yesterday and here are the changes i have found so far- it is a lot more realistic now, The graphics are a lot better, the interior of vehicles now look a lot like in real life rather than just blurriness, you can now change the color of your vehicles and equipment, you can no longer mow grass wherever you feel like, you can now only mow grass on land that you own, you can now dump your grain trailer wherever you want. TBH I have only played FS 17 a couple times on xbox 1 and i gotta say it was my favorite. overall i think FS 17 is the best.

Fs19 has way too many blemishes i get that they are including shadows and bright spots better but its excecuted poorly. Also the crops are too thin and transparent when they are standing
The shadows need work, but at least the game isn't as flat and lifeless as 17 felt. The lighting quality is much improved for 19 as well as the vegetation.

they need to take more time for the next farm sim. i believe if you give them 4 years. it can be awesome. 2 years is just to less to create a good game.
ILikeGames it seems like they rushed fs19. Some things are just glitchy. They did a really good job on the graphics and textures but I wish they would have made the physics more realistic

I have all versions of Farming Simulator except FS19. I prefer FS17 and still run FS15 for some favouite maps.
AS a pensioner I cannot justify the cost of FS19, for as I see it, very small benefits.

The only thing i would like for 19 to change in a hurry... is the Krone Mower at 6:23, it needs a working trailer attachment asap in 19, but alot in 19 tells my already that multiplayer will be a think you have to at some point to advance in your farmlife, you cannot simply solo it to glory, and that's a shame.
I still love FS17. The only issue I see with FS19 is the crop looks a little spread out which I kinda don’t like it.

FS19 feels "Unreal Engine'ish"
What do I mean by that? Unreal engine always has this very uncomfortably dark and tacky look. Everything looks a bit like plastic. Most games developed on UE have over used lighting and shadows which makes them even worse to look at. They look nice at first sight or for "non gamers" because they have many "movie effects". But a gamer needs kind of "clear vision".
Best way to describe it for me is this:
FS17 looks like Source Engine (Portal, HL)
FS19 looks a bit more like Unreal Engine (Just look up some UE games)

But I might wait until some updates come out to fix the bugs and a price drop cause its basically looks similar. But I have hure fs19 doesn't run as smooth yet. 17 is more complete at launch, 19 is better overall but needs updates now! So in my opinion FS17 is better because the mods are better, and it feels more complete. This is coming from a Farm Sim Veretan who has been playing since FS2011

@@thelaxx8923 LS13 means Landwirtschafts Simulator 2013 which is german for Farming Simulator 2013. (All the Farming simulator games are made by Giants software, who are based in germany, so that's why it's sometimes called Landwirtschafts Simulator).
I don't find the difference enough to make it worth sacrificing all my saved games in FS17. I don't like the washed out colours in FS19 either.

My oppinion is that 17 is real graphics and 19 is over realistic.
not quite a fair comparison, you haven't loaded any of the basic Giants modules that were released for FS17 (ground response/mud tires etc) for a start, the lighting in FS19 is like looking directly at the sun, its far too over the top. the aforementioned modules became standard for the game and make up the base of fs19.. hence its more fair to compare fs17 with those modules activated.
FS17 with even a half dozen decent mods is far better, might not have the graphical flare but it plays many times better.
It is a fair comparison on your first argument as they both have no more and it is base game

I put 800+ hours into FS17 but just cant find the love for 19. It seems more of a mod than any real 'next version'.
The grind is too much to build up decent money. I spent around 3 hours harvesting a big ass field of potatoes as a contract and got about 24k for it. Just the tractor and cultivator I want to buy is over £600,000!
I chose to the option to have no farm but start with £1,250,000. All I have to show for that is one field and enough to do a harvest - this is with only one tractor to run the cultivator, seeding machine and transport harvest to store.
Hate the way that if you pause the game your vehicle will still move if you havent stopped it previously, had vehicles end up in rivers and all sorts!
I'll battle away with it, maybe its a case of owning every field in 17 along with 400 cows and always above £10m in the bank and then having to start from scratch.
After three weeks I got back on the FS17 because the graphics are too bright for me and just a lot of mistakes small-minded things are.
If landscaping was in fs17 , i wouldn't have got to fs19

I’ll tell giants something if you spend four years on the next farming Simulator and get your graphics to a Red Dead Redemtion 2 level you’ll get so many more player... from a fs player of half a decade
RDR2 was a AAA title game with a whole player base of GTA fans. FS series is targeted to a niche audience and it is not an AAA billion dollar budget game.
if u would compare one version versus one four years later you would notice such a difference, but it just takes time to get there
I think they should rather make it an actual simulator. I don't really care about the graphics, I'm kind of satisfied, some stuff just does not really make sense (like a powercultivator does not make any differnce compared to a regular one) or there are just ton of features that should be added (a gearbox or more realistic mud for example), and it also needs a physics overhaul, it just feels like toy tractors for me, but maybe I played too much Spintires and I'm kinda used to feeling a vehicle's mass. There are some titles that got the physics and graphics right, but they are too much overshadowed by FS, so developement is pretty slow on them.

I’ll keep FS17 for the time being as the difference is very small. Hopefully Giants release FS21 with a new graphics engine.
Not being able to connect multiple semi trailers to make a road train is annoying..needs fixing..
I play both fs 17 and fs 19 they are equally both good in there own way.
Some thing about 15 and 17 that make it more realistic than fs19 and fs22 (same game engine) with fs 25 coming out in about a year they should look back on fs 15 and 17 and make a game based on mud runner graphics that would be the DREAM.

19 is better looking, but so far that's all it has on 17. Just adding a couple JD tractors doesn't justify leaving out a lot of good equipment that was in 17. Also the way the American map was made compared to the euro was just insulting. Too many negatives in 19s corner. Hopefully time & some updates will help. Till then I'd have to say 17 is by far the superior game.

@@aziza7660 with fs 17 the vehicle models are much nicer and the contracts are timed and they have stories to them and you CANNOT hire a helper. fs 19 also has quests but the quests are not timed and they have no story and to me its weird that you can hire a helper to do a contract for you. but they also have contracts asking you to deliver stuff UNLIKE fs17. fs 19 has a few ugly pickup truck models. the pickup truck models look 2 or 3 times better in fs17 but they have horses in fs 19 that you can also ride. and the chickens are different because in fs 19 the eggs automatically get sorted into pallets for you to sell. but in fs17 you have to manually pick up the eggs. the graphics of fs17 has some really nice lighting. but with fs19 the lighting is sometimes way too bright.but all the other features i can think of are the same. i would go for fs 17. but if you want to play multiplayer a lot (like me) you may want to pick fs 19 because its way faster for a player to load in on fs19 its takes about 10 secs to a min. but in fs 17 it takes about 1 min to 5 mins. or you may even wanna pick fs19 because of some of the features. tbh i usually do logging and its the same in both games but i have noticed you can put way more logs in the back of a pickup truck in fs19. in fs17 if you put too much logs the front tires come off the ground XD.
they might also be working on fs 21 if you wanna wait. but i dont know for a fact if they are making fs 21 yet. but thats all i know so far.

It's a community made modification, that means it's not from the base game. Therefore it's stupid to call a game better because of a mod. And yes, this modification is being done for FS19 and will be released soon.

I still think FS17 looks pretty. I can't pinpoint what i don't like in FS19, but to me the graphic is more ugly and feel rushed in some way. In some way i have regretted that i have bought FS19 insted of FS17.

@@Ki_t997 I just refunded FS19 for FS17. Reason being that the shadows in FS19 seem to flicker around and look like water effects from Tomb Raider PS1. The shadows would do my head in.

Yes graphics are better but straw bales are still behaving as cardboard boxes, AI still doing weird things, cars are stronger than tractors, etc etc ... this game is more than 10 years old and still has the same problems ... of course the graphics are better ... if they wouldn't have been better, why make another game ??
