- We've been all around the globe street racing and in this video we find ourselves in the streets of Chicago! This is the kind of racing we live for! Such a variety of cars that showed up and we had some incredibly close racing! Tons of roll racing and later we stumbled upon some dig racing! Couldn't have asked for much more! This video is in memory of Andrew Garcia aka Drew Commodore. (4/13/94-7/4/23)

Shout out to that cop for not ruining that guys life with tickets, jail time, etc. Kids out having fun and enjoying fast cars.
The problem is they're having fun at the potential expense of someone else's life. I enjoy spirited driving just like any car guy, but what happens when they blow a tire or something stupid and gets sent into a minivan full of kids?
@Nick-dd2xg fully aware in the risks. That's why i don't race off of the track. You can tell that kid had an "oh shit" moment by how he acted. Probably won't stop him from racing but hes more aware of what could happen if bet

Always great to see 1G DSMs on the street putting in work. I used to terrorize the local Foxbody and Camaro owners with my little 1G FWD Laser. Just an EVOIII 16g turbo, a tune, and a little weight loss and she was no joke from a roll.
Dude! Loved seeing the 1g out there. Used to have a similar setup on a mildly modified 1g awd. Hurt lots of expensive cars feelers back in the day. Good times !
I use to have a 1G GST with an evoIII 16g and bolt ons with a tune. The car was a menace lol
i love videos like this, don’t get me wrong the full blown 7 second cars are cool, but the 5-700whp ish cars are something we relate too
I want to see sub 300hp cars. Older stuff that isnt crazy built. Like back in the 2000s when we used to race cars that barely cracked 200hp, it was still fun. Also screw roll racing, it literally is just whoever has more horsepower wins. I prefer dig racing, it requires a lot more driver skill and much more plays into who wins.
@@engineerisengihere44 can totally agree with this, nothing beats watching stick cars from a dig, really is a drivers race. and yeah some 250-350whp content would be nice once in a while

Love how the DSM still holds it down on the streets. My 1st car was a 90 Talon TSi. I should of never got rid of her.
Kyle, the blue cadillac is a CT5 V Blackwing, not a ATS-V, it's the 3rd gen V's successor.
ATS-V has a twin turbo V6 (LF4), and doesn't sound anything like a Supercharged LT4. The red cadillac coupe and sedans later in the video are ATS-V's.

@@merc2ss Yep I got a 16 ATS-V coupe, Xtreme DI LPFP, Aric Miller HPFP, Flex Sensor, CAI, Tapout Catless D/P, E60 tune, it put down 628 whp. Pretty stout car for just boltons. Been 6.32 to the 1/8th full weight so it's in the ballpark for 9's.

I actually met Drew and at a car meet at Strats in august last year and was blown away by the size of the turbo, rest in peace
Strats is one of the only places in the area left that isnt full of takeover kids, and even thats starting to get invaded by them 😢

My brother had a 95 eclipse gsx. Still one one of the fastest cars I ever rode in
Chicago scene is great. Took the 1000hp 328 out there in 07 for the "Boosted Bimmer Meet". Went to a place called schaumburg mall (i think) and there were alot of fast cars. Remember going to ams for some race gas, this is before they got super huge with the gtrs. I was 19 at the time, super memorable experience.

@@takethisl2773 true. Horsepower is too easily accessible nowadays. I miss the time of if you had 500hp you worked for it. But I do wish we had modern stuff like tuning, injectors, e85, boost by gear and strengthened manual gear boxes. We were the first to break into the 9s with that chassis back then and it was alot work.😅 Guess I just sound like the old Salty guy now.
Finding a clean 1G DSM is extremely hard now. Most of them have rotted away from that usual MItsubishi rust. Hopefully that car doesn't get wrecked, because it would be difficult to replace. The egomaniac in the GTR who got spanked by it was a priceless moment. 4G63 for life.
Honestly, my dad recently sold his clean-ass 1g. It was black cherry, one of the cleanest ones where we are from(setx), but back in 2021, he stretched the studs and lifted the head off the block from 50 psi of boost. I wasn't there to see it, but that car was never able to run again. Mainly cause my dad got lazy lol
Loving that 1G. Brings back memories to late 90s and early 2000s. Amazing setup that holds up to modern stuff.

dsm and supra evenly matched my ass. 1st run full grip pulled hard, 2nd run the supra got the jump and he let off real quick when dsm started reeling him in.

@@deathdog7161 the blue one is a 2022+ CT5-V Blackwing. The light red sedan is an ATSV, so is the dark red coupe.
