the files have changed a bit in the recent version. in the file header-mega-menu, try replacing {% render 'icon-caret' %} with: {{- 'icon-caret.svg' | inline_asset_content -}}

Is there a way to make the menu open faster? my mega menu with images takes 2 seconds to load which could make my customers think the menu isn't opening??? Thanks

You need to replace it in every place where it reports an error
cuz the description file for the svg.icon in the shopify theme has changed, just follow the step, and check out every place. ctrl+f to search
