Thanks so much for this tutorial... I was struggling for several hours getting my spatial DB in qgis to import directly to postgresql ... Finally your tutorial got me there. Just one note. In pgadmin 11, the user must write the extension SQL script as follows: CREATE EXTENSION postgis SCHEMA yourschemaname In other words the schema you want to connect your qgis to needs to be explicitly stated. Hope this helps others that watch this using a newer version of pgadmin
Hi Mike, thanks for the great video -- I'm planning on following through with the whole series! First question (of hopefully not too many...) I followed all these steps except I went for the newest version of postgresql (11 I think). My pgadmin 4 opens through my web browser, as opposed to a standalone app. Is that normal?
Thanks Mike I'm at lesson 1 but find that i've loaded version 3.5 of pgadmin 4. Can you tell me how to upgrade this - seems i get an intervention which claims to be chrome but is rejected by my security software. I'm finding your delivery and explanation very clear and concise Thanks again Richard UK
I can not add the postgis Extension, and I get the error below. ERROR: FEHLER: konnte Bibliothek »C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/10/lib/rtpostgis-2.5.dll« nicht laden: unknown error 126
hello, can we use PgAdmin 3 instead . I have the fatal error " PgAdmin 4 could not be contacted " and tried to fix with several methods but it did not work.Thank you
12:30 Got error when loading the extension: ERROR: could not load library "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/10/lib/rtpostgis-2.4.dll": The specified procedure could not be found. Solution: copy "libeay32.dll" and "ssleay32.dll" from C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\10\bin\postgisgui, then paste both to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\10\bin
@@keenmarozva1560 independently did not work neither, but I saw that the problem is that the new version doesn't have postgis yet (I think). So I downloaded version 12 of postgre sql which supports postgis
Thank you so much!!! Life saver!! You are amazing! (Who is watching this even in 2021 :)

Shapefile import failed. why ???
adda youcef I don’t think OP knows the answer to your question take a proper course for answer
There is no PostGis under Spatial Extensions
migrate to latest versions of postgresql. You can install PostGis independently.
