I’ve been going to Poitou since I was a kid. A lovely area.

I don't know if you allow prayer requests here, but if you do, then can everyone try to pray for a family friend of mine? Her parents just got a divorce and since both parents are working they want her to get her GED at 16 so she can start working so they can let her go. (This is just what I have heard fron my mom, so some of this might be wrong, but this is what I heard.) Thanks.

I will pray for her. Tell her to go to protective services . They might take her and put her in a adopted house but that can be dangerous as lots of abuse happens in the CPS. Also there is the Church. Personally I think a 16 year old female is better off looking for a good Catholic husband but CPS and the Church are sources of help that might allow her to finish her schooling if she ways . But you do know you can go to college and do everything else a person with a traditional diploma can do if you have a GED right? It might make getting scholarships initially harder but I’ll bet there are scholarships for GED students and if she’s not thinking about college then a GED would not harm her .
It’s terrible that she has parents that simply want to throw her to the wolves so she needs to be smart and not just become a promiscuous woman . Her sexual activity should be reserved for her husband and there are tons of good Catholic men that would marry her when/ if she’s legal . She can’t be that far though. Also in the U.S. there are programs

@@RONPAULROADWARRIORS Okay, thanks. Against, that is just what my mom said, so it might not be as bad as I described it.

Black Sparrow: I hope your mom or someone can also find her a good place to work where she could learn marketable skills. That would be a big help to her.

Sorry off topic. Was watching an older video regarding who would be the choice of monarch for this country. How about the successor of the Catholic Stuarts of the U.K.? Thank you for your brilliant and challenging conversations!

The best I can say for those in the Vendee is they deserve a salute for their courage…but I find them utterly despicable for their complete absence of morality & Humanity in opposing the Revolution.
Brave certainly, but ethically bankrupt & superstitious fools.

Right, because we all know the Revolution was the most moral and humane power in French history!

How were they ethically bankrupt? The Vendee rebels were largely a bunch of peasants who wanted to keep their churches, and were forced by the revolutionary government to fight for their right to religious freedom. Superstitious fools perhaps, but don't act like the atheists who murdered prisoners, priests and whole villages on the suspicion of being Catholic sympathizers were paragons of morality.
