I miss the days of flying off new construction sites. Eventually that place will get finished and you'll lose an amazing quality runway... Way better than what we're stuck with. Nice stuff, man! That last landing with thrust reverse was really impressive.
@TwoBrosRC yes I'm really going to miss this place for sure. Hard to find places to fly where I live. Flying fields are about an hour and half to two hours away , guess it's time to start scouting some new places lol. Thank you , this jet does land so easily
A little pessimistic? These days out here in San Diego, all our fields are landfills. Chula Vista, where the turbine folks and I fly is adjacent to the Tijuana River. :)
@RaGeRC awesome bro, it is heavy, but it does really well. If you get the opportunity to 8s it, you want be disappointed. Yeah it's extra weight , but the extra power compensates for the heavier set up
So tempted to get this, Freewing have some really nice models out plus the new fms avanti looks cool, could you some point show your 8s set up in detail what connectors etc you are useing thanks, ps keep up the good work
I try not using my reverse thrust...take a look at the dust and dirt on your receiver after using it...I use flaps instead...lands much slower and rolls only a few feet after wheels touch down...
Gret plane! And your approximate speed makes sense. My E-flight F-16 Thunderbirds 80mm at level flight makes top speed around 100mph = 161kph, 176.4kph = 110mph -- WYSIWYG!
@acf951 i started almost 3 year ago. I started with a habu sts too lol. Don't know if that was a good choice or not lol. No ,no simulators. Played flying games thought. I flew every day for almost 2 years. I practiced alot. Just fly as much as you can, and don't worry if you crash. We all do. I still crash stuff till this day lol. It's part of the hobby. Love seeing new people getting into the hobby. Thanks for watching and the kind words
@@SmokeyMountainRcTravisThompson With the Habu, did you start off flying in SAFE? I’m wondering if I should just turn SAFE off and go for it, so I don’t form bad habits.
@acf951 yes I used safe for a few months. I would use safe especially starting out, i would get used to the jet before you fly out of safe. You will have a better experience if you train with safe first
Nice flying Smokey!! You really got that F16 down to a science fosho, awesomely awesome flying. I used to my planes up north in a little town called Avenal off some streets just like the one you're flying from, did you hit the reverse thrust on that landing when you said " sweet sweet"?🤣 moved away from there many years ago, then I went to visit my old flying field a few years ago and houses are now there. Across the highway from there is a little airport with dirt runway. Only one old real airplane there, owner of that plane told me once that if I ever wanted to fly my rc planes there I was more than welcomed to. But I didn't like the dirt runway. Anyways happy safe flying to you.
@smokeymountainrctravisThompson I thought you did, just like the real aircraft carrier jets do when they land, as soon as s they touch down, they gun it just in case arrester cable doesn't latch on. Nice area where you fly by the way.

@davidgerlach1132 yes flying fields are hard to find
It lands real nice, you’ve got her dialed in.
Thanks. It is smooth
Just Maidened mine today. 6s version but I can confirm it is absolutely sweet!! I was impressed on how awesome it flies for its weight. Super sweet!

Nice flight Smokey 👍👍👍🤘
@littsrc1726 thanks buddy
My favorite bird 😊

@@williewonka1970 yea , i started covering my receiver when I fly in dusty areas

Rite. But that was 176 mph. Not kph
@@SmokeyMountainRcTravisThompsonTrust me, FW F-16 90mm EDF 6/8S "176mph" in a steep dive not possible - 100mph is fast enough. Enjoy plane!
@davidgerlach1132 rite. Iv got the reading a couple of times. Don't know why. Been getting top speed of 136 mph from skyid and gnss speed meter
@@davidgerlach1132 same motor in my Zeus. Got 158 and 160 multiple times
So sweet! How long have you been flying? Do you use a sim a lot? I just got a Habu STS and hoping to fly as well as you some day.

Is that max speed in kilometers ...lol ? Does the 6S and 8S sound about the same ? Nice flight
@@tonyp2263 max in mph. I don't think the 176 was accurate
@tonyp2263 the 8s has more sound than the 6s foe sure
