I miss when the maps were fun and unique. Even when they were bad, they were still bad in a fun and unique way. Now everything's just a boring Tetris block with only one viable route through mid
I know you mean well but I'm honestly more tired of hearing “Tetris block” complaints than the actual maps themselves. Especially when tetris block maps have existed in all 3 games (worse line block maps especially, S1 Arrowana and Walleye are WAY worse), the comparisons are stretches at best if you squint at it

Mid is nearly untraversable, the sides are literally the only okay routes, may I remind you that otherwise you're fighting at a massive height disadvantage on a forced swim form slope to get up? If your flank routes are the only routes that aren’t a death trap, they're not flanks at all. They BARELY made some of it work with the changes in S2, but it's still got all the problems that people throw at S3 maps. And sure, Walleye has a singular flank to mid and a thin corridor leading up, but both are ungodly easy to fully clog, and the rest of the map is worse to compensate. At least S3 Hammerhead's routes back up to spawn are inkable, and at LEAST it has a safe spawn region and actually terrain variation in mid. Walleye's spawn alone is a map killer by itself. If these 2 maps were in S3 people would be WAY harsher to them lol (Walleye especially, excluding map specific things it has the same amount of walls actually climbable as Brinewater, even with the walls that are somewhat inkable they're ALL blocked off ledges), Arrowana escaping every conversation about bad maps somehow is frightening.
I really like how the abilities glow when they are in use like stealth jump quick respawn and comeback. Would be really useful to have in the newer games especially for LDE and opening gambit

Calling things by shorthand that still gets the point across is basically ubiquitous in splatoon communities because callouts necessitate it

All four were neutered, but flounder and museum got the least, even though they are still no where near as good as they were. At first I thought they were majorly unchanged, but then I went back and played splat one and boy was I wrong. So disappointing honestly
@@squidkid419 tbh Museum Just needs a block on the left side. S3 flouder has some good upgrades, it needs all the walls on the left side to be inkable and the uninkable wall on the top to be removed or made inkable

Yet again Splatoon 1 prooves it is the superior splatoon game -better maps -better specials -better weapons -MORE FUN It's a shame Splatoon 2 ruined everything that made the first game so good

We're allowed to critique the games we love, we're allowed to say S3 isn't perfect and that Nintendo should really go back to the way S1 maps were, or at least something close to it. We want the game we love to be as good as it can be, and we're allowed to point out the ways it could be better.

Because it's such an easy problem to avoid, and they did things so right in the past. We just want the maps to go back to being fun to play on
