Mr. Mitchell, Thanks for posting this demonstration of Form 4. I am presently working on this form and I appreciate the controlled slower speed to illustrate the details. In a world of sloppy demonstrations on the web, this has precision and accuracy. Thanks for your efforts both back then and now in posting the video.

In this (Form 4) at 2:11 Mr. Mitchell should be facing 6 o'clock (not 12:00 o'clock) till approx 2:50. Looks like the video was edited so tthe viewer could better see the details. Compare it to the Huk Planas version where the camera is looking from the side. Overall, this was very smooth and detailed so it's very helpful for students.

Yes, it's because Mr. Parker and a monitor are beside the camera. As he starts getting close to the foreground he seems to be glimpsing at the monitor to make sure he doesn't get too far out of frame. Also, he looks up sometimes because if he makes direct eye contact with Mr. Parker, he'd turn to stone! True fact...

Weird how the speed moves are different then how I was taught. He's slow and fast and different times.

Hello everyone! We appreciate the feedback so far, thanks for supporting.
I want to mention the power issue - this is a video that catalogs the form. In other words, it is done slowly for the purpose of showing detail. For a demonstration of how Mr. Mitchell executes techniques that are more energized (while being controlled, of course), please refer to "Jim Mitchell - Kenpo Karate Self-Defense Techniques".
    Enjoy!

I have a question, im a black belt in kenpo. and i was wondering which is thwbest way to preform this form, do you have to eb super quick, or can u experiment with it, adding speed in particular point during the form.

Anybody notice that at 0:31 and 0:41 Mr. Mitchell looks like he's staring at the camera or at least in its generation direction? I looked at videos of others performing form four, specifically senior grandmasters Larry Tatum and Richard "Huk" Planas and they are looking at the direction of where they are attacking. Any reason why he's looking at a slightly different direction than theirs?

@xXZeffronChickXx I think it's a Tracy thing to be deep in the motions and powerful, my sensei is apart of the Tracy organization and if I threw hand motions like this guy, I'm fairly certain I would be beaten for not have genuine strength behind them.

@takeme2dagaloon Just you wait, this form will kick your butt, :-P Especially if you don't pace yourself.

Algunos babosos critican por criticar.....solo hay ke tener dos dedos de frente , para darse cuenta de ke lo esta haciendo para mostrar todos los movimientos ke involucran en tecnica propiamente tal, en esta forma.................

Very nice, but not as good as Larry Tatums version, with the intensity and power used in his form 4.Not to mention the leg slaps.
