I think that they where both meaningful in different ways. The kiss was them solidifying the fact that they’re together and the hug showing that they love each other over everything. It also shows that there are other ways to show love.
I loved rewatching this season knowing that Perry was the Dean and noticing Annie's small details in her acting as if hinting at it throughout the whole season. So brilliant!

It's here she sees Laura give up everything she believes in to save her like she did the semester before to save Laura and she can't believe it. That look of utter disbelief gets me every time

And then there was my friends LaF and Perry. I fell in love with my new roommate and she turned out to be a badass vampire. Then her mother who is the dean of the school (who also possessed me at some point) turned out to be sacrificing 5 of the students every 20 years to some demonic light thing. We ended up killing the dean and saving everyone. And turns out the vampire I love is a giant cat. She died. Or so I thought. We found her body and gave her blood. Then we ran away. Also at some point I was being attacked in the library by books and I just don't want to get into that. Also LaF was about to be one of the victims of my vampire crush's mother. It only gets crazier from there so I'll talk to you later. Love you Dad! Bye!"

I personally thought that Nat's acting in this episode was the best for the season. From the execution scene, the amazement and wonder all over her face when she realized that Laura saved her, the scene under the trap door, and the scene between Hollstein were all on point. Can't wait for CarmillaZero!

Can I just point out that Carmilla wouldn't die by being beheaded because in episode 14 Matska said that a simple beheading or stake through the heart wouldn't kill her because she isn't a 2 century year old (something-er-other) and in an even earlier episode when Carm was 'interrogating' her sister, Matska said she was in her 4th century. I'm guessing that's why Carmilla wasn't phased about being beheaded. Am I right?
No, Matska wasn't concerned about being beheaded because she couldn't be killed unless the locket she wore was destroyed, and at the time she thought no-one knew about that. Also, the power the charter gave her as chairman of the board of governors probably protects her too. Carmilla doesn't have either of those things. As far as we know, Carmilla *can* be killed by any of the methods that they mention in 1x15 for killing a vampire: staking, decapitation, immolation, something about driving an iron needle through her heart, etc.

i honestly dont know what was going on this season but i dig danny as a vampire and im glad theyre bringing mattie back
My heart hurts. I'm on probably a month of addiction and maybe, after the movie I'll be on my way to recovery soon, but this season was probably the most important one for their relationship. I never realized this until now. They finally saw through each other, their values and why they have come to be who they are. Laura got to see Carmilla's sister and found out about Voldenburg's(his name, right?) family kidnapping Carmilla's dead body and using it for their pleasure. Carmilla got to see exactly how much Laura cares about the world being a certain way, but also saw her change those beliefs at the sight of her friend's death. Growing up, if you will.
The most important thing important thing I have probably witnessed as my third viewing of this season, that I never paid enough attention to see it before, is the fact that Carmilla and Laura never truly realized how much they loved each other. They never care to admit that they're in love because "they've only been dating for a month and that would be crazy." as Laura puts it. But they are in love. And falling quickly. They and us, get to see that when Laura walks away to go to bed, after explaining that they can't get back together, because Carmilla doesn't support her unfaltering belief system, and Carmilla explains to Laura how to kill Madie just in case she tries to kill her again. Carmilla chose Laura over Madie!! Her sister and best friend for over 300 years. You get to see the realization over Laura's face. It finally hits her.
Carmilla get's to finally see how much Laura loves her towards the end. Which, I have to say I never have truly seen proof over Laura's love as much as Carmilla, but hey. Laura is an innocent girl who seeks out the best of the world, and falls in love with probably what you would consider an anti-hero. If that doesn't prove it, then think about Laura's way of thinking of how the story should end with the good guy saving the day and the bad guy loses, but no one dies and everyone is happy. Rainbows and sunflowers. But when it comes down to Carmilla dying, she'll sacrifice all of that to save her. You can see that written all over Carmilla's face when the kills him. Love will have it's sacrifices. Did I mention my heart hurts?

ahh this series really elevated to another level this season, the acting was on point and i love that we get to see this sort of ideological conflict between laura and carmilla and mattie and carmilla’s dynamic and perry acting suspicious and the witting is just SO GOOD

oh no, i just watched two seasons in a row and its currently 4:52 in the morning, it was well worth it though, this is an excellent production and im honestly amazed at how good the acting, directing and story was executed i could not have imagined it to be better, awesome job 😃

All jokes aside, this has been one of the best season finales ever. Everything tied up amazingly, all the cliffhangers made me scream, and honestly wow. This episode was amazing. Props to everyone
