I remember back in 1989 and going around to my friends on his birthday where he'd just got the Amiga 500, and I couldn't believe how good it looked, because all I was used to was a zx spectrum😅 So I pestered my parents for for months to get me one. They got that fed up of me talking about it , they finally gave in and got me one.
Remember fondly buying my amiga 500 in Nov 88, saved up £100 every month for 4 months to pay for it after starting my first job as a fresh 16 year old in July same year. Massive upgrade from an Amstrad 464 which everyone took the mick out of, people soon stopped when they saw the Amiga! Personnal favourites were F-19 Stealth Fighter, POW, Falcon, kick off 2, Lotus Turbo 2 and Sensible Soccer, lost many years playing these greats. Great video as ever.
What a great list of Amiga games. Brings back good memories for me. I bought the Amiga 500 Batman package in 1989 and it included Batman, New Zealand Story, and F18 Interceptor. These games quickly became my favorites. I also remember games like Another World and Flashback but I think I played the latter on PC.
Lemmings is very close to my heart. Like you, I first played it on a school computer. It was my reward for always finishing my work first in IT class. What a nostalgia trip. Great video as always, Gemma
Wow! I was taken back to my childhood instantly. My first introduction to the Amiga was back in 1994 with Pinball Dreams, the music alone was incredible. And yes, I was also part of the bottom bunk crew. Thanks 😁
My God, the second I heard the intro music to Jimmy White's, I was 14 again, frantically turning the volume on my monitor down so my parents wouldn't hear me playing games when I should have been doing homework. Great memories in this video.
It's a top game, really nice music and clever graphics to draw the title on the opening screen and of course the gameplay is great. I remember me and my brother enjoyed this a fair bit, though I don't remember playing it after more than a few months. Perhaps it didn't work on the A1200, which we got later? Or maybe, since it was (I'm afraid to say) one of the many copies we received from secondary school in the first couple of years (1992-1994) when the Amiga was still very popular, we might not have treasured it as much as a bought game and simply copied over it. For me it reinforced the positive feelings I had about our Amiga, there was such a breadth of genres and some real gems on the system.
Ah Amiga ❤ loved mine back in the day. A1200 it was. Got it for Xmas in like 93 or 94 and I was totally blown away. Zeewolf, Roadkill and Aladdin were some of my absolute faves.
Great video. I had my Amiga 500 plus in the very early 90's and it was a fantastic gaming computer. Having nearly all my games as copies rather than bought saved a fortune!
That was a particularly GREAT Amiga vid! 👍. Such a nice, nostalgic journey through your childhood Gem! Thanks kindly for sharing those memories! ❤️. Certainly a couple of those stood out for me too! That last idea would be a GREAT follow up Amiga vid to this one?! Like Alien was to Aliens?! 🤔😊👍
What an awesome video thanks. Your list was 90% the same as mine growing up. So crazy! I need to play some of those old games again. I was introduced to the Amiga 600 through my cousin who had Gauntlet playing in my Nans kitchen. The graphics blew me away. Brilliant thanks
Being British and the same age as you, we share very similar memories and experiences when it comes to gaming - so it's a delight watching your videos 'cause they're so relatable and they always reminds me of my childhood... Which I cherish very much 🙂 That said, I didn't have an Amiga growing up. Instead, I had a C64 which was a big pile of poo looking back at it now LOL. I did play all the games mentioned in this video when I upgraded to the MegaDrive and SNES back in the 90s though.
I'm glad that you speak about the Amiga and your positive memories from it! It was a huge part of my childhood and continued on in my adult years as well. My last Amiga was a Amiga 4000 and I started with the Amiga 500. Thank you! :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 loved this video, unlocked some fantastic childhood memories with these games 🔥🔥🔥 my 1st ever computer, totally forgot bout Adams Family…..BANGER of a game 😀 every game was a banger, need this back in my life 👍
fire&ice is missing here imo. i played most of this games on the pc back then, i just had a c64 prior to the pc..i bought an amiga 500 20 years later used for cheap with a bazillion games on floppy disks and just loved to play on something that i was not able to afford as a kid..but now i can`t find it anymore and i can not remember if i have sold it or not 😫😫..i would rather get an amiga 1200 instead it can play all a500 games and a lot more! cheers 👾👾
Great memories! I loved Lotus Turbochallenge II - it was the first game I ever clocked - it took a lot of memory and precision to hit the jumps and dodge just right. Multiplayer was great in The Chaos Engine, and also Brutal Homicide which was released probably after the Amiga's peak. We literally had a pizza box stuck to the screen to divide it in half!
Very good selection. I collect Amiga games now. The demise of the big box was a sad day indeed. I might have included cannon fodder, horror zombies from the crypt and body blows, the monkey islands... Simon the sorcerer.. the list goes on..but still a brilliant selection.😊
The first game I played on my Amiga was Starglider 2.What a game. It was a open world experience where you could go to different planets and just looked amazing (especially from going from a speccy and c64).
This video brought back so many memories with my brother and I playing these games back in the 90’s. We had shoe boxes full of floppy disks. Who can’t forget the old two button joysticks with the triggers buttons.
Mine are; Batman (first game I played on the Aimga); Lemmings; The Settlers 2; Turbo Challenge 1+2; Zool; James Pond, Super Skidmarks, Micro Machines, F-19 Stealth Fighter then later the amazing Sensible Soccer which became my favourite game of the 1990's. I was born in 1982 and after the Amiga we got an IBM. That involved getting monthly internet discs for the web. I had to install both machines for my parents. We got a Gateway super beast and I got my first machine with my own monies in 2003 with a Radeon 9800 pro. Loved the video. Keep up the most awesome work.
Great selection of games. Must have been hard to just pick 10. As a strategy/puzzle fan, Civilization, Rail road tycoon and Cadaver were favorites. Bumping my brothers of the track in stunt car racer ( using a nulmodem cable) was sooo much fun. ( more fun then actualy winning). This selection bought back many good memories. And i would be a bit angry with you, if you hadn't played that Fist Chuck rock soundbit entirely !
I still love Amiga and have since 1986 when a friend and I played Dungeon Master for hours and hours while munching pizza and drinking beer. Simpler times for sure :). It was so special. I still play Amiga games via emulator to this day. Deuteros is a stand out and so cool and I go back to it often. There were so many completely original games for Amiga that really set it apart.
very cool, my own top 10 games from my childhood are: 1 lemmings (I'll include lemmings 2 too!) 2 first samurai 3 zool (and zool 2) 4 nebulus 5 premiere 6 marble madness 7 pac mania 8 star ray 9 rocket ranger 10 monkey island I mean, I could go on and on really but from the top of my head those stick out the most, a lot of the nostalgic memory isn't just me playing the games but my older sister playing the games who usually go to much further levels than me / picked harder games haha. so it was fun watching her play too.
more or less the same experience. I had a friend that had friend that bootlegged games, the list was endless, i was in awe! I remember playing the adventures of Quick and Silva, would love to to get that a playthrough today!
Great list Thanks you!! I think the first game I played on the Amiga was Super Stunt Car Racer at my friends house. My own first Amiga was the A500 Screen Gems pack and when I loaded Shadow of the Beast II on the main TV downstairs with my mom dad and older sister watching in the room we were all blown away by the intro and compared to what they saw on my Amstrad CPC464. I can literally feel that amazing feeling of the time. My most memorable games: Shadow of the Beast II, Full Contact, Barbarian, Lotus Turbo Challenges I, II & 3, Supercars I & II, Project X, Z-Out, Another World, Flashback, Hard Drivin' II The Dual, Prince Of Persia, International Karate, James Pond 2, Superfrog, Turrican II, too many!!
I had forgotten about so many of these games, I always remember Speedball, NZ Story, Gods and a few others but your video has reminded me of so many of these games now. Great video btw and thank you for the nostalgia !
So much nostalgia. I adored my amiga600 during the 90s. Copying game's. Making our own games on 2d shoot em up construction kit. I need to get the amiga mini❤
This is so wholesome, I grew up on the sega genesis and super nintendo and everything after the fact but I never had an Amiga. I just got an analogue pocket and got the whole library up and running so now I'm discovering all of these amazing games for this system.
I was a speccy 48k user for quite a while...my dad got me an amiga500 for xmas in 1988...felt like the world had changed...unless you were a teenager of the late 80s you will never know what a colossal impact this amazing computer had..i am 51 years old now and still have an amiga even now...
I did like the Amiga games as a kid, but what made the system truly special for me were the tracker programs, where we would make music, and Deluxe Paint - a truly superb program for pixel art.
The best thing about the Amiga is the time spent playing with friends. So many hours spent playing Sensible Soccer or playing "Bomberman" Dynablaster with four players adapter. And it was so cool to go every Saturday to the local "pirate" and get the new games. :)
Nice list, Gem! This system has a particular aesthetic and is unique to the games released for it. Recently I've been visiting the game Agony, which I always thought was a game where you controlled Psygnosis' mascot owl 😅
I really love your way of describing things... We're the same age (you mentioned one time) and your childhood stories resonate with me every time. Great stuff 👍
Loved my Amiga, spent so much time messing around with D-Paint, led to a career in the games industry. Great list, also loved Heimdall, Speedball 2 & the Chaos Engine.
Great bunch of games! Chuck Rock was one of the first amiga games I ever played. Still play it now on the mini. For me, SWOS, Ruff n Tumble, Fire and Ice (Graftgold at their best) Cannon Fodder and the awesome Chaos Engine were the games that defined the Amiga. Amazing channel by the way!! 👍👍
Great video Gemma. Loved your choices. We had an Acorn A3000 which had some Amiga conversions on. Highlights for me where Chuck Rock, James Pond, Lemmings, Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Pac Mania. My neighbour had an Amiga and we used to spend Saturday afternoons on Championship Manager and always loved Captain Planet. Played it recently and realised gameplay was a bit dodgy 😂
I still have my A600 with no mods and it's going strong since the early 90's..for me the games that I loved the most are Desert strike/Syndicate/Alien breed and Cannon fodder, Flashback was a fantastic game also..such great memories ⌨️
I can spend hrs and hrs playing theme park, such a chill and play game with 90s music bangers on, the nostalgia for me most these games is awesome, I have a modded mini now but the og ways always best
i used to play all these games and more back in the day + i loved the settlers . recently i got my a1200 out of the loft and have begun to buy all the new things for it to bring it up to the look of a modern system and am lovin it .
I was fortunate enough to have my parent buy me an amiga 500v back in the day after seeing my cousins amiga in action. Alien Breed. Rick Dangerous 1 and 2, Pinball Dreams, Moonstone, Syndicate, First Samurai, Cannon Fodder and Walker all had an impact on me back in the day but probably The Secret Of Monkey Island was the biggest deciding factor for me wanting an Amiga.
you seem to call for nostalgia, which I understand, but let me tell you: grew in the 90s with PC's in Spain, didn't even knew about Amigas or other 16 or 8 bit computers. I discovered them about two years ago, and I think the Amiga is the best computer ever. I went back to uni and my final project is about coding an using Amigas for day to day use. No nostalgia at all, just think they deserve all the love possible: they are amazing machines! And workbench is amazing
I haven't a good feeling with platforms, but I liked Zool so much. For the beast serie, I liked the second and the third chapter more than the first. Good video!
I used to go round a mate from school's house to play the Amiga 500, I think I just had my Megadrive and ZX at that time. Most these games you mention are the ones i remember playing when i first player the Amiga. The other main game, Speedball
The only time I remember playing on the Amiga was at a friends house, I remember playing Indiana Jones and the last Crusade. I also remember playing the old sims city game in computer class, back in my school days.
Used to play zool, thought that game was brilliant, reminded me of sonic the hedgehog, played jimmy white snooker, loved that, lotus turbo challenge, reminded me of outrun, really enjoyed that, theme park I had too, it was great when you could finally get those rides going, that was really fun, thanks for the video and memories gemma ☺👍
I have similar feelings to you about Theme Park, it had a touch of class and was rather unique compared to what I'd ever played before. The mention of the American Adventure Theme Park made me smile, I have fond memories of going there (may only have been once or possibly twice, but it was great fun - it's long since closed down now!). For me the most meaningful game from your list would probably be Lemmings, since like many kids my introduction to the Amiga was the Cartoon Classics pack and it was the best game of that excellent pack. A classic game, and my first one on a 16-bit machine, I was in awe of the computer Dad had bought us and Lemmings above possibly anything else encapsulates that feeling (I can't remember if I'd even heard of the Amiga before, it certainly wasn't on the radar of either me or my brother so was a great surprised for Xmas. We weren't greatly interested in computers before then, we'd played on various 8-bits and had fun I think, but not been hooked or bothererd about having our own C64, Speccy or NES. The Amiga changed that...).
We Got The A500 89 Batman Package. Added To This My Parents Bought Ghost Busters 2. Before XCopy I Fondly Remember Gunshoot, Rampage, Battleship, Klondike. I Still Play my Amiga Regularly.
Interestingly, I had very similar experience with amiga games. The wonder, the amazement, the couch with multiple friends... but I played completely different games. The only two games I've enjoyed from this list were Chuck Rock and Flashback.
My god, this was seriously nostalgic. These are the sorts of games that don't see much representation, as I suppose most retro gaming is Japanese and US centric.
The Amiga was such a great system. Sensible World of Soccer, Pinball Dreams, Flashback, The Chaos Engine, Speedball II, Cannon Fodder, Worms… so many classics. I know most were ported, but in most cases the Amiga originals were the best versions.
So many game that bring back the nostalga like this but a few that do were Speedball 2,"Ice Cream Ice Cream" Pinball Dream also flashback, Trex Warrior, Rainbow islands the amiga had so many good games like you i discovered the amiga through going round my friends house listening to the prodigy and playing speedball 2 :D
I had Sub to this channel. You just took me straight back to my childhood - I did 3 paper rounds to buy my Amiga but it took 3 years. I also remember Xcopy 😆 Good video
I wrote a trainer for Pinball Dreams where you could literally pick up the ball with your mouse and drag it wherever you wanted, on top of that you could enable or disable a shield under your flippers that would just reflect you ball back.
i only had 3 friends that had the Amiga. They mostly played Street Fighter 2 on it despite having games like Batman, Desert Strike and Sensible Soccer in box displayed. I eventually got one amd upgraded thr memory in the expansion bay. The catalogue of games i have keep expanding due to the job lot Disk Banks I get from ebay.
Got the Batman Pack as a 10yr old, loved MegaLoMania, both dune games, oil Imperium, Detroit etc. My dad worked on an oil rig where they had 2 machines and tons of disks so every time he came home there'd be a new box of games to play Thanks to the A500 mini my son is playing the same games i played at his age
if somebody asked me what was the best gift I ever got , I have to say it was the Amiga!! When Pinball dreams and steel wheel flashed up it took me back to summer holidays me and John brooks seeing who could get the highest score!! So many good games, for me super cars 2 , lotus 1 , swos , project x , lemmings , then we had ground breaking games like hunter , castle master, Jag xj220, what a computer and what happy memories
interesting video. I was expecting superfrog to feature in this video because my friend's sister apparently really liked that game and was upset when i borrowed it. Not sure if it has been pointed out already but flashback was actually a french game, produced by a french company.
Such a nice list! I loved Thrme Park! I loved James Pond aswell. But even more the second game Robocod if you havent played that it has my warmest recomendations
Thanks for sharing this, my older bro had the Amiga 600 so this was my childhood til I got a snes. Alien breed was seriously so good, along with games like cannon fodder, soccer kid, Alcatraz, body blows & brutal sports to name a few, those were the days 😅
Nice long video brought back some memories night breed .super frog.agoney.and leaful weapon were some of my favourites remember it was very expensive and something only the rittch kids had at school 🏫 I had a second hand one out the bargain pages me dad got me back in the day yeah remember lemmings bean a popular game at school it was a demonstration version there was ninja as well
James Pond 2 : Robocod would have to be top of my list. Playing it at Christmas when I was a kid was a magical experience (I still play at Christmas to this day!).
@@TheGebs24 it contains possibly the most catchy 'ear-worm' of a tune that's played on a tuba. Not many AAA PS5 or XBOX games can make that claim to fame!
Mine was the Atari ST and loved so many of those games especially Lotus Turbo Challenge and funnily enough my name is John and I actually own a Lotus Elise in real life now best cars ever…… loved the video Gebs 👍
Some great picks here, pinball dreams was one of my all time faves the music was brilliant, preferred shadow of the beast 2 and James pond 2 robocod, theme park and theme hospital were brilliant, xenon 2 was a great one on the amiga as was populous
@@TheGebs24 it was very strategy driven serious game, my cousin had an Atari St we used to play powermonger on that a cracking game, left Gods off my list how could I forget gods!
What a nice selection 👍, I agree with almost all titles (Addams family is a good game though😁), there are son many titles that made the Amiga a machine of exception : Unreal (Shadow of the beast/Space harrier style, from Ubisoft), Agony, Stunt Car Racer, and the King of Kings, the masterpiece, the Turrican saga, I hope you played those😊
Never had any PC in my life! that's really bad I know a 35 year old, But I was always a console pleb, just was never something I had in the house. My parent's were struggling with money and they didn't see the need for one, so I didn't get, sadly I've had a couple laptops but is it bad that I want one of these? 😅 Solely for the Alien game, that should have been licensed tbh You're keeping me interested in my retro stuff btw. Brits are killing it on TH-cam ATM, in regards to retro gaming Been questioning if I need my collection tbh at my age, so please keep up the great work Side note, if you told me you were a professional TV presenter back in the day, I would believe you, top class 👌 Bring Gamesworld back and have you presenting it I say 😊👌
I used to play on Atari ST... 10 ST Games that changed my life : -- Captain Blood -- Dungeon Master -- Maupiti Island -- Xenon (my first 16 bit game, my first shmup) -- SWIV (changed my life 30 years after the end of the ST-era, lol) -- Lemmings -- Wonderboy II In Monsterland -- Blood Money (Though today I prefer Menace, shorter) -- Lotus III The Ultimate Challenge -- Turrican II Games I didn't like back in those days and that I like a lot today : -- Tiny Skweeks -- StarRay -- Awesome A game I'm still afraid to try : -- Sundog 🙂 I guess all of them are better on the Amiga...
Cool Amiga video, I'm from PS1 generation and never played Amiga in my life, I remember many years ago there was The Secter of Monkey Island (Amiga) Longplay. That was 1st time I saw Amiga game. Edit: Back then uploader was called cubex55, but they changed name to World of Longplays. I checked and that Monkey Island video is still up from 16 years ago.
1 - Elite 2 - Turrican 3 - Flashback 4 - The course of monkey island I - II 5 - Indiana jones and the last crusade 6 - The chaos engine 7 - Lotus esprit turbo challenge I - II 8 - Armour geddon 9 - Speedball II 10 - Sim city
So glad you did this, love the Amiga! Alien Breed was THE best alien game back then. I have so many favourites, if i had to choose Xenon & Xenon 2 Chaos Engine Defender of the Crown IK+ Barbarian (Psygnosis) Golden Path Dungeon Master Test Drive 2 (check out my remix track if your liked the music) and many more..
10 staples when playing at my friend's house (only one of my friends had an Amiga, most of us had NES. One friend, who was shunned when it came to gaming and somewhat ridiculed for his console, had a Sega Master System....kids are both dumb and cruel) were: North&South Moonstone Oil Imperium Dogs of War Speedball 2 Brutal Deluxe The Chaos Engine Sid Meier's Pirates (I handled the naval battles, my friend the sword fights, and the decisions were taken together) Pinball Dreams (taking turns) Cannon Fodder (taking turns) Superfrog (taking turns)
For me I would say it was in no particular order of importance: Monkey Island 2, Flashback, Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, Superfrog, Turrican II, Alien Breed 2, Cannon Fodder, Chaos Engine, Settlers and Swiv
I loved the Amiga, have Alien Breed on my old PS3, started with a Commodore 64, Fort Apocalypse was a favourite and Jumpman, you mentioned copying games so you are grounded! Admittedly we all copied and shared games, but I never said that lol much ❤❤❤❤❤

Such a Great memorie beating the game and seeing that cool ending with beautiful music 👍🏻

And i would be a bit angry with you, if you hadn't played that Fist Chuck rock soundbit entirely !
Great selection. I loved some of these games, plus Speedball 2, Superfrog, Xenon 2, Rainbow Islands, Turrican 2, and others. Thank you for sharing 😊
Ahh, that feeling of stumbling across a quality that has 50 videos on the Amiga! Thank you!!!!!
There were so many completely original games for Amiga that really set it apart.
very cool, my own top 10 games from my childhood are:
1 lemmings (I'll include lemmings 2 too!)
2 first samurai
3 zool (and zool 2)
4 nebulus
5 premiere
6 marble madness
7 pac mania
8 star ray
9 rocket ranger
10 monkey island
I mean, I could go on and on really but from the top of my head those stick out the most, a lot of the nostalgic memory isn't just me playing the games but my older sister playing the games who usually go to much further levels than me / picked harder games haha. so it was fun watching her play too.
more or less the same experience.
Nice list of games and I enjoyed some of those two in my younger years. RIP to your friend Rich
I had forgotten about so many of these games, I always remember Speedball, NZ Story, Gods and a few others but your video has reminded me of so many of these games now. Great video btw and thank you for the nostalgia !
Thank you for watching
What a cool comment. You sound ace
@@TheGebs24why thank you..at 51 i am honoured to be regarded as ace lol..bless you and best wishes.
Thanks mate. Ooohh I’ve never played that one ☝️
Well you thought right it is the Psygnosis Owl 🤘🏻
16:57 That takes me right back to May bank holidays when I used to play on my brothers Amiga 500 🕹️💾
So sweet memories with my Amiga, thank you.
Welcome
i used to play all these games and more back in the day + i loved the settlers . recently i got my a1200 out of the loft and have begun to buy all the new things for it to bring it up to the look of a modern system and am lovin it .
Oh my days that whole story threw me back, bill and Ted style, your memories are mine, so strange but i love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well as my brother, I would expect you to feel the memories as vividly as I do. Love you mate ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@TheGebs24 love you too sis ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The only time I remember playing on the Amiga was at a friends house, I remember playing Indiana Jones and the last Crusade. I also remember playing the old sims city game in computer class, back in my school days.
Used to play zool, thought that game was brilliant, reminded me of sonic the hedgehog, played jimmy white snooker, loved that, lotus turbo challenge, reminded me of outrun, really enjoyed that, theme park I had too, it was great when you could finally get those rides going, that was really fun, thanks for the video and memories gemma ☺👍
Omg I lived that life blues brothers, heimdal, monkey islands, sindicate, even dizzy love em all
Great vid, took me back to when I played some of those games on my mega drive, keep up the great work.
I Still Play my Amiga Regularly.
great picks, I also remember elite, lionheart, turrican and chaos engine. i think elite was my first game ever
I know most were ported, but in most cases the Amiga originals were the best versions.
i had a nes,my brother had a master system and my best mate had an Amiga, late 80s to mid 90s was brill
So many game that bring back the nostalga like this but a few that do were Speedball 2,"Ice Cream Ice Cream" Pinball Dream also flashback, Trex Warrior, Rainbow islands the amiga had so many good games like you i discovered the amiga through going round my friends house listening to the prodigy and playing speedball 2 :D
i loved lemmings on amiga also i remember kwiksave the local store had a walk in fridge area great place to go
Dude, as you’re local to me you’ll know the exact Kwik Save I’m on about ;)
I had Sub to this channel.
You just took me straight back to my childhood - I did 3 paper rounds to buy my Amiga but it took 3 years.
I also remember Xcopy 😆
Good video
Thanks Retro.
Ahhh yes X-Copy. Love it.
My dad worked on an oil rig where they had 2 machines and tons of disks so every time he came home there'd be a new box of games to play
Thanks to the A500 mini my son is playing the same games i played at his age
Oh and the bad guys in Chuck Rock were Gary Gritter (Gary Glitter) and Jimmy Gravile (jimmy Saville) hmm, they must have known
if somebody asked me what was the best gift I ever got , I have to say it was the Amiga!!
But even more the second game Robocod if you havent played that it has my warmest recomendations
awesome amiga video gemma!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this, my older bro had the Amiga 600 so this was my childhood til I got a snes. Alien breed was seriously so good, along with games like cannon fodder, soccer kid, Alcatraz, body blows & brutal sports to name a few, those were the days 😅
Hey you are most welcome 🙏
Not sure why your Adams family has a glitch. I got my amiga 500 mini version from lemon amiga. Grate video totally love your choices 👌 ❤
Nice long video brought back some memories night breed .super frog.agoney.and leaful weapon were some of my favourites remember it was very expensive and something only the rittch kids had at school 🏫 I had a second hand one out the bargain pages me dad got me back in the day yeah remember lemmings bean a popular game at school it was a demonstration version there was ninja as well
Good list Gemma but there's a few missing: Turrican 2/Toki/Tearaway Thomas/Jim Powers/Sensible Soccer 😉 The good old days
James Pond 2 : Robocod would have to be top of my list. Playing it at Christmas when I was a kid was a magical experience (I still play at Christmas to this day!).
These were the days 🫶
@@TheGebs24 it contains possibly the most catchy 'ear-worm' of a tune that's played on a tuba. Not many AAA PS5 or XBOX games can make that claim to fame!
Good choices; I would've included Superfrog, but know he's not very popular with a lot of folk 😉
I really liked the video editing, it was awesome. I wonder if it was a lot of work?
Mine was the Atari ST and loved so many of those games especially Lotus Turbo Challenge and funnily enough my name is John and I actually own a Lotus Elise in real life now best cars ever…… loved the video Gebs 👍
Brat,Lemmings, and Shadow Of The Beast 2 were my go to games....
Some great picks here, pinball dreams was one of my all time faves the music was brilliant, preferred shadow of the beast 2 and James pond 2 robocod, theme park and theme hospital were brilliant, xenon 2 was a great one on the amiga as was populous
See now I struggled with Populous. I don’t know why lol
@@TheGebs24 it was very strategy driven serious game, my cousin had an Atari St we used to play powermonger on that a cracking game, left Gods off my list how could I forget gods!
Chaos Engine, Swiv and Gods.. miss those days.
Gem, what were you doing behind the bike shed?😂😂
A platform game that no one mentions on the Amiga is Blues Brothers, a brilliant game, you can play two players....check it out, great vid.
Keeping watch 😂
What a nice selection 👍, I agree with almost all titles (Addams family is a good game though😁), there are son many titles that made the Amiga a machine of exception : Unreal (Shadow of the beast/Space harrier style, from Ubisoft), Agony, Stunt Car Racer, and the King of Kings, the masterpiece, the Turrican saga, I hope you played those😊
Never had any PC in my life!
that's really bad I know a 35 year old, But I was always a console pleb, just was never something I had in the house.
My parent's were struggling with money and they didn't see the need for one, so I didn't get, sadly
I've had a couple laptops but is it bad that I want one of these? 😅 Solely for the Alien game, that should have been licensed tbh
You're keeping me interested in my retro stuff btw. Brits are killing it on TH-cam ATM, in regards to retro gaming
Been questioning if I need my collection tbh at my age, so please keep up the great work
Side note, if you told me you were a professional TV presenter back in the day, I would believe you, top class 👌
Bring Gamesworld back and have you presenting it I say 😊👌
I used to play on Atari ST... 10 ST Games that changed my life :
-- Captain Blood
-- Dungeon Master
-- Maupiti Island
-- Xenon (my first 16 bit game, my first shmup)
-- SWIV (changed my life 30 years after the end of the ST-era, lol)
-- Lemmings
-- Wonderboy II In Monsterland
-- Blood Money (Though today I prefer Menace, shorter)
-- Lotus III The Ultimate Challenge
-- Turrican II
Games I didn't like back in those days and that I like a lot today :
-- Tiny Skweeks
-- StarRay
-- Awesome
A game I'm still afraid to try :
-- Sundog 🙂
I guess all of them are better on the Amiga...
Ahhh I adore the PS1. I’ve done some nice videos on hidden gems that you might like 😊
1 - Elite
2 - Turrican
3 - Flashback
4 - The course of monkey island I - II
5 - Indiana jones and the last crusade
6 - The chaos engine
7 - Lotus esprit turbo challenge I - II
8 - Armour geddon
9 - Speedball II
10 - Sim city
Pinball Dreams and Lotus, good times 💜
So glad you did this, love the Amiga! Alien Breed was THE best alien game back then. I have so many favourites, if i had to choose Xenon & Xenon 2
Chaos Engine
Defender of the Crown
IK+
Barbarian (Psygnosis)
Golden Path
Dungeon Master
Test Drive 2 (check out my remix track if your liked the music)
and many more..
10 staples when playing at my friend's house (only one of my friends had an Amiga, most of us had NES. One friend, who was shunned when it came to gaming and somewhat ridiculed for his console, had a Sega Master System....kids are both dumb and cruel) were:
North&South
Moonstone
Oil Imperium
Dogs of War
Speedball 2 Brutal Deluxe
The Chaos Engine
Sid Meier's Pirates (I handled the naval battles, my friend the sword fights, and the decisions were taken together)
Pinball Dreams (taking turns)
Cannon Fodder (taking turns)
Superfrog (taking turns)
Nice Amiga memories and cool games :)
Thank you 😀
The Amiga is a legend and I love chaos engine
For me I would say it was in no particular order of importance: Monkey Island 2, Flashback, Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, Superfrog, Turrican II, Alien Breed 2, Cannon Fodder, Chaos Engine, Settlers and Swiv
I loved the Amiga, have Alien Breed on my old PS3, started with a Commodore 64, Fort Apocalypse was a favourite and Jumpman, you mentioned copying games so you are grounded! Admittedly we all copied and shared games, but I never said that lol much ❤❤❤❤❤
