    An honest review from someone who knows what they are talking about and has actually formed an opinion, rather than regurgitating sales banter. Great work !

      @@lgmediapcsalon9440 yup! Ive taken it from 0 miles to 26k miles. As far as I know i have the highest mileage SP2 in existence. Have had ZERO problems, buying the SP2 was 100% worth every cent.

    Great video as always. Yes that new ohlins electronic suspension is evolutionary. Only video editors will get this but its like when FCPX came out and some complained it was made simpler to use.

    R1M electronics (wheelie) appear to trump the 2017 Fireblade; the "simplified process" of Ohlins ERS of the Fireblade looks interesting
    We need a full shoot out ASAP....

    40 lbs, wow, glad to hear someone finally measured it in the metal. I'd think that with wheelie control, you'd give full power back as the wheel is coming down, not wait until the front wheel touched and then the wheel speed caught up.

    • @BeamRider100
      @BeamRider100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      or progressively feed full power back to time it just as the wheel touches back down.

    • @HeroRR
      @HeroRR 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I know... Honda really stepped up their game with this one. Looks are just controversial. Power doesn't matter so much to me either since once you get above 180hp they're all pretty much the same. But the low weight is something you will feel and appreciate at all speeds and in all riding conditions.

    I was just hit by a man test driving a new F350 from a dealer and he never looked or stopped at the stop sign (cops got him and said his fault 100%)
    well now I sit here and try to text with 2 broken arms and a crushed leg ...but the worst is my LOVED 081000RR LE with 58'000 miles is now a ball of scrape metal ,I am a rider that loved the fireblade sine they came out but at 47 years old my favorite was the evolution engine 08-15 the weight and turn in and feel of the fireblade made my NO frills bike keep up with the top liter bikes on the market at the track until the new R1 and S1000 because with there electronics and extra power I just couldn't put power to the ground out of turns and they would just pull on me ....but now I'm lucky enough to be in the market for a new super bike and I'm trying to figure if I want to spend 19 for the SP or 13 for the stock .., or should I get something comfortable for street and track like a tuano factory? ?? it's going to be a great year as long as they can get me walking lol ..

      @mattwang8118 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey buddy sorry to hear about your accident, hope you recovered nicely and I hope you decided to just spend the 19 grand for the SP, just cant get over how narrow and weightless it feels, dont get me wrong there are several liter bikes ahead of the SP when it comes to track riding, but for a all around sport bike for track and street, city traffic and long trips the Hondas ergos is just on point, cant beat it, plus the honda brand will never let you down in terms of repairs or breaking down

    • @Edwin6932
      @Edwin6932 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope that you get better and be able to ride again. I own a 2016 CBR650F and I had put 16,000 miles already. I am getting the CBR1000RR base model tomorrow. The way I see it I don't need the SP version since I am not going to take the bike to the track anytime soon. I just want to say when I get older that I was able to finally ride a 1000cc motorcycle as bad ass as the Fireblade.

    Well documented guys! i find it odd that the electronics are soso with this new blade as Honda is/was ahead of its time when comes to electronics (regarding MotoGP that is). I'm guessing that the next refresher bike will have all the teething issues sorted out.

    • @cyclenews
      @cyclenews  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it's a little odd. You never know, it may be a software fix that Honda could do in a 2018 mode, but we'd only be guessing there.

    All that is simple is useful and all that which is complex is not. - Klashnokov
    The more manafactures get away from man/machine integration and the more computers are used, the more the bikes will fail in the future as a whole. Their is a reason muscle cars of the 70's are still around is because of how simple they are. Machines controlled by computers will not be on the rad as a whole 40 years from now.

    • @cagednm69
      @cagednm69 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on being an idiot. Every car since the 80s has had electronics namely ECU. Those cars are still around and their ECUs are functioning fine.
      Get out of your dinosaur cage and open your brain a little. Electronics have come a long way, from dominating various motorsports on the track to taking over the offroad racing scene just as successfully.

    • @hamletthaus3046
      @hamletthaus3046 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations on missing the moral of the story. Again for the hard headed. Model T's and Cafe racers are still road worthily 80+ years later as bikes, cars and technology today won't last 20-25 years from now w/o severe $ and expertise. Now learn from history before you repeat it again.

    • @babayega1717
      @babayega1717 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you are aware that Klashnokov was actually a fraud, and did not even come up with the AK-47 design himself, something for which he is most renown ;)

    Hi, If money is not an issue, and I am not a race track rider at all. Wht do you recomend to buy, the standard fireblade or sp ? cheers

    • @cyclenews
      @cyclenews  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If money was no issue, I'd go the SP because it looks much nicer, and the electronic suspension should be much better than the conventional suspension on the road. We haven't yet tested it on the road, only track, but the SP is better at high speed thanks to the suspension, so that should translate well to the road.

      You can, but when you switch off TC you also switch off wheelie control. The systems are not separate, which is something the Yamaha YZF-R1 has.

      Yay more ignorance on youtube. So you've visually compared the two and can detect chassis and geometry changes based on pictures right? You must've also been able to see that the conrods, cams, crank and pistons are all different using your xray vision too right?! Get a clue. No one changes the block unless significant advancements are made to materials. Everything in the market today are adjustments to a first gen design.

    • @kadien2006
      @kadien2006 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      GSXR 1000 does not share a panel or engine component at all!! Everyting is new ground up. This is what Honda need to do in my view.

    • @d1sturb3d119
      @d1sturb3d119 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rofl what? Where did you get that information from pumpkin? The engine is from their 2009 model with a higher rev limit and mechanical VVT. Nothing has been changed on the block since 2009. Get a clue.

      Says the guy who doesn't have a clue about engines. They've used the same block from 2009 with changes to the bore, stroke, compression ratio and mechanical VVT. End of story. Post an actual breakdown of why you believe that is somehow a new motor. Until then piss off with your ignorance.
