- Correction at 2:48 SWS swear the Pilatus PC-12 is not theirs on Discord. "Nope, not ours for sure!" from Alex Vletsas SWS developer. He even states that it could mean no sales for them in the future. So it appears it is not SWS. So probably Carenado or Asobo.
Everyone is doing it so I might as well too. We dive into the second MSFS 2024 trailer with a twist.

love your critical view of stuff, still waiting for the x plane 12 final review with mods 😁
I have another video coming out on X-Plane, which is basically an appeal for help. I have ran into a lot of technical hurdles and I have ran out of resources. AutoOrtho is problematic for me. Unfortunately, it is the cornerstone of the video premise. I had the video done like 85%, split screens and everything and then SU 15 was announced and XP 12.1 beta released and I decided to scrap it until the pieces were in place. Thanks for sticking around.
@@NightTrainIndustries cool, love your vids, can't wait for the next
On their Discord, SWS have said that the PC-12 shown in the trailer isn't theirs.
Really good info. I was sure it was SWS. Well that's disappointing.
as someone familiar with A-10, when you are looking on it in the new trailer, does it look like it has a gun? like in first trailer it was just with some spotlight or something, which seemed supper weird, having a plane that is pretty much build around a gun, just disarmed, do you think MS has grown a pair to include weapons in FS24, or will they keep their stance of NO weapons?
The A10 is being made by DC Designs so I have no confidence in it at all.
It's too far away to tell in the second trailer, but I would assume that the continued policy of no weapons will continue. In the first trailer its made to look like a pod with a glass cover. The good news is that the PC modding community can turn it back into a gun with ease. If you are on X-Box... it will stay a glass dome.
Yeah redbull air race at monument valley seems highly unrealistic... until you find out it actually happend.
Wow you’re right 2007. Thanks for bring that up. I am highly surprised. They must have got a boat load of money. Must have had a more friendly leader back then.
@@NightTrainIndustries haha, i think after the steve jones pylon hit they figured to not do that again. Was fun to watch though. To bad they discontinued the races.
@@NightTrainIndustries So what else dont you know about whilst talking about this game? I would look into that if I werre making youtube videos.
@@smsheard 🙄 Way to over inflate a statement for a pointless jab. 🧐 He said "I don't see them allowing this IRL but hey...." Its called an opinion, he's not submitting a comprehensive report for the NTSB mate. 😲
@@bournejsn I could be alot more critical to be fair. Also I thought it was constructive not just a cheap jab. I know its hard making videos for youtube so I wont though.
The PC-12 in Aus replicated the RFDS livery, who are the largest aeromed company in Australia. That specific livery with the red underbelly came out around 2014 i believe, I know pretty well, because my fathers the one who flew the new livery out for the first time.
Yeah they are getting these real world liveries down pretty well. Erickson sky cranes, the fire fighting aircraft all traceable liveries to the real world. They really are doing their research. Even if the timing is a little off. Thanks for watching.
I agree about the A-10.. DC / SC designs aren't complete garbage. However, I do think their aircraft look like toys with very flat textures that look like "plastic." In contrast, IndiaFoxtEcho would have been a much more suited candidate, or even Top Mach Studios, for a military aircraft such as this.
I said to my self please be indiafoxtecho. DC/SC can make aircraft but why they make stylistic choices for button placement and procedures is beyond me. I don’t know if you saw but SC is completely renovating the F-16. And DC the F-15.
The runway lights are HaRd CoDeD so they'll never be fixed. They chose to change that bit of the code when they ported it from FSX so...
Still makes 0 sense. Have you tried to mod them or know someone who has? Can you point me to a post about it being hard coded?
They will be fixed, but not high priority yet. Asobo has the source code, so saying it will never be fixed is a silly comment to make. The process was FSX -> Microsoft Flight (cancelled) - FSX code -> Dovetail Games who converted the code to 64 bit for FSFS and FSW -> then that code base went over to Asobo and they have worked magic with so many aspects of the sim. I started with Sublogic FS 1.0, so while lighting isn't perfect yet, sheesh I've been waiting 35 years for the level of detail we have now and give time. Look up the forums and vote for the lighting issues to be fixed, be proactive. The more eyes and votes the higher up things move in the dev cycle.
@@digital_aviator I have voted for lighting issues for year it seems the community dosent care as much as we do, also the mods consolidate the threads and then the votes go away, same with the water masks, missing airport buildings and layouts, and any other issue I have proactively reported on the official forum or even Zendesk. They have had it on their list for quite some time but have never fixed it.
@@NightTrainIndustries Nothing takes the place of persistence
@@digital_aviator point me to it i'll go vote.
Yeah - agree 100% - same old same old - not excited for this release tbh. Only the vegetation looks improved. Was also hoping for improved weather engine - guess that's asking too much
They showed some of the improved weather engine in the first trailer, especially covering storms
@@ralue3187 There is some time left so hopefully it gets an overhaul still, but what I've seen in the trailers still looks exactly like 2020
Yeah there is still time left. But yeah I was hoping this second trailer would provide a bit more about the core of the sim. Instead it was basically mission packs part 2. Maybe the real simmers will get some insight at sim expo 24. Thanks for watching!
Will 2024 be a new game or will 2020 be updated to 2024?
A whole new game.
@@ac_junior72 noted, i’ll wait then.
That's a good question since it is so similar. I'm going to ask at Sim Expo if/how they will co-exist on a machine. But plan on it being a new game. My Question is: Can I link my mods from MSFS to quickly without having to re-install everything.
@@NightTrainIndustries mhmmm a question i also share. Its like xplane, somethings will convert to 12 from 11, most things wont. Something they will have to directly address. Hopefully they overhaul the physics as well, someone near the xplane standard. Turbulence feels dogsh*t in mfs
Most flyers are interested in three things: Believable flight dynamics, believable weather and convincing ATC and AI traffic. I have zero faith that any of these will be an improvement on MSFS 2020.
I'm making a note of this comment for later
@@tubeloobssame. A lot of these people are the first to buy and install. It’s blatant hypocrisy how the hell could you watch the trailer , dev updates , the presentations before walk away with it’s not going to be any improvement kidding yourself.
What you said has no basis, watch the fs expo and tge developer updates, they are constantly improving the physics in msfs2020 and spoke about how they will be improving it in 2024. They also spoke about how they are improving AI traffic. As if you are blind and didn't see the trailer with much better ai traffic. 🤦♂️
@@ronaldjamesNot even that, in the trailer itself you can see better AI traffic😂
@@mammid9622 probably a X-Plane fanboy as usual
Bruh, just realised, the a330 has frozen instruments in that cockpit shot and has the gear up...
You are right the speed tape not moving is a dead give away! I wonder how many of these airplanes are in an external showcase state.
The thrust levers are also idle LOL. Marketing job towards XBox exhibition that is. The Aircraft should be fine at release.
United operates at jfk out of the same terminal as British airways. Terminal 7
Nope, not since 2022. All operations were moved to Newark and Laguardia. simpleflying.com/united-airlines-no-new-york-jfk-flights-analysis/ if that doesn't work for you just check the KJFK flight schedules on flight aware. Not one UAL in sight. Thanks for watching.
As a current A-10 crew chief I hope they get it right. I’m going to be very sad if they fuck it up
Hopefully they are held to some standard. Or hold themselves to a standard. As much fun as people make of demios. Their a-10c actually has the proper start sequence compared to anything dc has produced. That’s how bad the situation is.
Great video means one thing subscribe to get more Flight Sim videos.👍
Appreciate it kind sir!
Have they talked about any physics improvements?
MSFS physics have always felt simplistic to me, the helicopters in particular don't do a bunch of things in flight that they should.
They touched on some flight dynamics in the last developers stream, especially helicopters. But to me it sounded like the same blah blah blah they always say about the Computational Fluid Dynamics. Also, I believe it all was integrated into FS2020 at SU 15 though. Hopefully, there will be an awesome presentation at FSExpo24 for the Hardcore Simmers™
@@NightTrainIndustries Here's hoping!
@@NightTrainIndustriesso you never saw what they said about it at the last FSExpo?
They talked a lot about what they did to the physics at the announcement of the sim last year.
@@ralue3187 You'd expect a youtuber doing a video like this to actually do proper research smh.
Regarding the smaller airports, this is one of the most disappointing things about MSFS for me. I would hope the autogen is being upgraded for 2024, otherwise it may be a long while before community updates filter through the new World Hub. The activity in JFK shot was maybe my favorite shot of trailer #2, you want every airport to feel alive and bustling - especially one of the busiest in the world.
I know they got hammered over this issue in their forums. Hence World Hub. I would say we will know more next weekend. X plane puts MSFS to shame when it comes to small airports. If ms/asobo would quit being lazy we could have nice small airports. KPRC Prescott is awful. Unusable honestly. Thanks for watching.
i like the careers, but hell i hoped the melted building issues would go away ....
That's the nature of photogrammetry unfortunately. They still need to tweak the draw distances and LOD in my opinion. I proved in one of my videos that TLOD 400 is a minor improvement in fidelity for the FPS hit.
Another awesome video :) I mostly agree with all the points. I dont like the redbull racing and the helicopter racing at all. It is like the crew game from ubisoft or I'm getting some forza motorsport vibes but not with cars. Only reason why they added these is probably to get the game to larger audience, especially kids I guess. I'm 100 % sure I wont be pre-orerding the game neither play it since day one. I really dont think it is going to be that great switch for me. I look for stuff which is overlooked by many - more accurate physics, aircraft behavior, accurate weather, clouds, proper night lights at airports, taxiways, runways, proper aircraft exterior lights. Some aircraft are just unusable to use at night it feels like you illuminate runway with handheld flashlight on 3 AA batteries.
Appreciate it! Forza with planes is kinda an accurate description. All we can hope is that our high fidelity add-ons like the Fenix still perform the same or better. I will have to buy it day 1…. you know You tube and all that. Any questions you want me to ask anyone at Sim Expo?
@@NightTrainIndustries Honestly I dont know or I think that my questions would not be answered :D maybe in general if they made any imrpovements to the DX12 (unusable for many, including me). If they will give us better quality of all airports which are not modeled "By hand" for example XP12 default airports are better. And basically the night operations. Aircraft lights are very weak, airports are usually dark although in real life they shine bright like a diamond (Rihanna reference) - so if they significantly improved on this. And if we can get more realistic aircraft behavior for all aircraft, especially jet fighters (intertia is basically not present). Looking forward to your videos from the sim expo and wish you safe journey. Thanks.
Weather radar ?
I guess we will find out. They dodged the question in the last developer live stream. So I’d say doubtful. Thanks for watching.
@@NightTrainIndustries fs that’s a no then
@@saren6538 The question was about whether there would ever be a "realistic" weather radar. So I assume what you mean is a fully function radar with tilt and gain and faithfully reperesented.... that sounded like a no.
The clouds did NOT change a single bit,NO vehicle traffic,NO night time,huuummm... I loved the topics you spoke about, very important isues! Im also an atp in real use fs2020 frustratingly...I can only hope those things that really matter have been improved! Let´s see, hey, its Microsoft,so I dont trust it at all!
Clouds look ever so slightly different I think, especially in that shot with the vision vet over Colorado. Now that I think about it there was no road traffic.. interesting. There were 4 "night" shots. Rio with the skyship 600, Northern lights over... Norway? JFK in the background at sunset. And Dubai at sunset. They all look like MSFS2020. But still with the runway lights on during the day in the US, why do they refuse to fix this? There are 3 thing simple things, I want fixed more than anything. 1. Runway/taxiway lights on in the day in good weather. 2. Watermasks and going over photogrammetry/trees imbedded in bridges, overpasses, factories. and 3. Better handling in wind on take off roll and landing... but 4 years in, I see no evidence these things have improved.
While 2020 is pretty amazing, it has some severe shortcomings. Many default aircraft remain unfinished, ATC is still pretty bad, no replay, no weather radar, MCDUs not populating, helicopters seem to be a mess. Looking forward to careers though.
I hope to hear some good news next week about adressing these shortcomings, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for watching.
Your audio is a bit low qualify, seems like echo or lack of bass
Yes it is. Probably both. It’s a Logitech web camera microphone.
Not particularly excited myself. I don't plan on purchasing 2024 when it comes out later in the year. Will see then how much improvement it actually is. It seems to me that this version is more focused on mission oriented content than anything else. Just my take. Will see what happens.
Im going to keep an open mind, and have faith in Jorg Neumann. Without him i think this all would have fallen apart or pulled a Cities Skylines II. I do think we are getting the same game with missions, planes, vegetation and scenery. Is that worth 120 bucks. Hard to say. I hope to find out more at sim expo. Thanks for watching.
Wow, talk about nit picking on a game that also won't be released for another 5 months. As a casual simmer all I want is a FS that doesn't tell me to fly at 2000ft when I am still 90 miles away from my destination, and then ask me to fly back up to 10,000 and on my climb ask me to go to 1,500. I am sure they will nail most of the communities concerns going forward if it is released how you think it will be.
Get Beyond ATC if you want better IFR ATC. Not everyone has the same concerns but most everything I mention has been promised to be fixed over the last 4 years but never is. SU 15 was supposed to fix many of the ATC issues but they didn’t. Thanks for watching.
I'm honestly afraid of how ambitious Microsoft and Asobo are being with this simulator, with such a short window of time and actively working on MFS2020, even after MFS2024 will be out. You do point out a lot of lacking improvements in regards to world detail, and it feels like they are going every direction with probably not a lot of actual care for the things that are needed to improve the experience. I hope that I'm wrong, but considering the small team already struggles to deliver on very important fixes every sim update, I am seriously worried on the potential lack of quality and content when the sim comes out. For example when the sim first made it to the market the aircraft were notoriously simple and dull, particularly the airlines, and while everything has improved so much overtime it is clear that they are partnering with a lot of third party developers, some with not the best of reputations such as a DC or SC Designs just to pump out all of this day one.
I still feel that even 4 years after the release of the original sim, this urge to upgrade is very rushed and could go very wrong.
Like I said I'm hoping some better news comes back from FSExpo24. But you basically summed up how I feel about MSFS2024 in general. Unfortunately, It's all being driven by X-Box at this point. Revealing the release date at the X-Box showcase instead of FSExpo told me a lot about the direction of the franchise. Good comment. Thanks for watching.
The Xbox is what pays the bills. That's the reason Asobo is able to give us all these updates for free and hire talents like working title that have us the most realistic default gps on any sim. Asobo even hired Andrey solomykin who was the lead engineer for IL-2 sturmovik who is known for developing really go flight models. Fact is Msfs2020 brought the flightsim community back from the dead. Even xplane is benefitting from this because Austin finally decided to listen to his customers
@Msfs2024HD I totally agree with you X-Box is necessary. My only issues are all of these small things that haven’t been fixed for 4 years despite them being on fix lists and promises to fix them.
@NightTrainIndustries I think asobo said because of the fsx code they hit a wall and that's the reason for the new Sim. So hopefully all those little issues should be fixed
@@Msfs2024HD See, that's kinda my point in this video, all of these little things don't appear to be fixed. They were blamed on the old code and engine but here they are still in the supposed new engine.
MSFS 2024 will have the same amount of static bugs and issues that never will be addressed
exactly like the version we have ..... i garantie that
I agree, and that is disappointing. I have a conspiracy theory. What if MSFS 2024 doesn't have a new engine that takes advantage of more CPU cores for performance? What if it really is just MSFS2020 SU 15 with new vegetation, planes, Bing imagery data and mission packs? I guess it would really be no different than the change from X-Plane 11 to 12 to 12.1.
"""aka the guy who knows the future""
The flight model is gonna be make or break for this sim
I think it will be the same and require updates just like msfs2020. They are going it have a specific showcase for msfs 2024 at Sim expo on Saturday. At least they have done a lot of high-profile hiring recently. Thanks for watching.
Laughably bad default airports are really the nail in MSFS to me, there is worldhub but it does not have nearly the same amount of freedom as XP's WED, at least right now.
That's why I invest in aftermarket scenery or pick up mods from flightsim.to. It probably wont be fixed sadly. But I did notice that in SU 15 blackshark AI buildings have gotten much better.
I must admit i am very underwhelmed by the trailer.
Still bad PG and extremely short draw distance with that sudden stop of buildings. Bet it'll be the same very short distance with night lighting.
The features they originally represented with 2024, more than half of those has gotten the (+) on the list within the past 3 months. So like 2020 they are promising those features are coming, later! I have absolutely no trust in ASOBO, so i am def. not buying this on launch day. I have had to opt out of 2020 like many others. Simply not worth the frustrations.
I hope they learn from the catastrophe of 2020, but i won't hold my breath
Can you give a time stamp for the short draw distances?
Out of all of the original features they promised, only northern lights got the (+).
@@tubeloobs - with the view of Miami.
No a lot has gotten the (+) check their latest update on the website as of last week.
@@NicolajFlies I have been following it and I'm telling, the only originally promised feature that got it was the northern lights. Stuff like power lines, shared cockpit etc were never promised from the jump.
@@tubeloobs - they also made a lot of promises for 2020 that never happened.
@@NicolajFlies Oh so we're shifting the goalpost now? I thought we were talking about the (+) items on the wish list.
If you've used FSFS for a number of years you should have noticed that every other relase is a good one which means every other one is something of a meh
It's more like every 5th release. SU 5 was game changer for performance, 10 was bigger and better and brought DLSS but was problematic for many people. 11 ,12, 13 and 14 were all meh to crap. 15 was a big one that Asobo/MS finally learned to just fix everything the Beta brings up for once. The next few months will be interesting. Lot's of unanswered questions. How much will FS2024 cost? Will there be 3 different versions? What comes with each version? When will MSFS users be forced over to FS2024. Will 2020 still get world updates and new imagery, and for how long? Too many questions. Thanks for watching.
Clouds in the MSFS franchise are seriously fucked apart from looking pretty from a distance. Asobo impressed themselves with the high-tech sounding idea that the 2020 cool way to draw clouds is to use a parameterised random noise generator that draws fractal patterns of voxels in the GPU, and now they're stuck with the the clouds being a randomised paint job the CPU knows nothing about. Unfortunately in a flight sim you typically want the clouds to have some real meaning in the simulation, not just eye candy, and what Asobo brought to the table wasn't thought through AT ALL. TBH they might be an ok game company but they don't realise how amateur they are for a flight simulator.
Still they are the best clouds in the Flight Sim game as far as looks (in my opinion). DCS is close, XP12.1 is improved, but the clouds still lack detail. I'm pretty sure DCS and XP12.1 are using the same method to make clouds with voxels. It can't be a randomized paint job, obviously they know how to define areas of clouds based on satellite data. Seb said that they were working on it because the data does exist and that they had added in-cloud turbulence. Hi -Fi also some how seems to know how to generate cloud turbulence, so there has to be some mechanisim, otherwise it would be completely random. We still have 5 months to go so maybe the third trailer will be better or maybe they will start revealing more in developer live streams. Thanks for watching.
It took 3 years for me to finally switch from XP11 to MSFS2020 as it simply wasn’t ready. This for me will be the same and they are going to push the same map data into 2020 so why even bother to switch. We shall see, but I won’t be buying this early this time.
It sounds like they will support MSFS2020 for at least another year after 2024 is released, so you should be good. Thanks for watching.
I think we all fear it could be more game than sim.
IMO nothing wrong with it being more of a game, but with improved sim for the hardcore. I reckon they'll do it.
That’s already what the X-Plane community thinks anyway. Is it a game? Is it a Sim? Does it even matter? It wont make you a pilot anymore than assetto corsa can make you a race car driver.

When I heard the A10 was designed by DC Designs I laughed out loud. Going from DCS World to DC Designs-tier absolute garbage is going to feel like a kick in the back of the head. I would never fly the DC Designs Concorde either, it's a cheap toy compared to the FS Labs Concorde.
It is a default plane in a civilian flight simulator and you were expecting the level of a DCS module???
Perhaps because realism wouldnt hurt? Why make a shitty plane when you can make a good plane@tubeloobs
@@benedekhalda-kiss9737 Perhaps you have no idea how flight sims work
That is what I am saying. They can make the model. They can program the cockpit. Why does the MMC switch toggle the ladder. Why does the CICU switch put covers on the airplane. There is no need to dumb it down that bad. Those functions could have been integrated into an efb like the ife tornado. The OSBs on the MFD controlling the auto pilot. The blatantly incorrect labeling on the buttons. Improper start sequences Why? Not necessary.
@@tubeloobsNobody expects DCS levels of weapon systems or radar systems but nothing stopping the rest of the plane being realistic. DC Designs admits they cater to the Xbox casual crowd but the fact is their cockpits always look fake.
They sold us on so much bull on MSFS2020 . And MSFS2024 will be the same broken game. The fact that No one on the MSFS team didn't think if a replay says it all. And why did I buy the Premium Deluxe ? You get nothing more. Airports that I don't use and a discount on aircraft that I would never buy anyway. I have a 4080 and nothing more to say about how it runs in VR.
Im not quite as down on it. Replay is a sore spot for me as well. They tried. But maybe there will be replay in 24 and it just hasn’t been revealed. Hopefully, when they offer premiums in fs2024 they are complete and don’t require years of patches to make right. Thanks for watching.
Arcade crap.
Stick with FS2020 for as long as possible.
And the Ootica is more likely the lesser, Orbx freeware version.
Maybe, but it looks much better than the ORBX and Got Friends Discord believe it is Got Friends, with a developer saying wait for FS Expo.
They've already stated that 2024 will have live ship traffic. BTW live-ery? lol dude it's pronounced liv-ery lol. I'm super stoked for the vegetation and rocks. I put that into game design documents for DTG FSW, based on eco region data, and other datasets. With regards to some of the issues you've raised, a lot comes down to fidelity of geospatial data. When I was doing Ultimate VFR photoscenery and water and autogen vegetation and buildings there was a limit to availability of data. Water is always going to be inaccurate due to time and tide, and that won't change until we have tide modeling in the sim. There will always be a disparity though between aerial and satellite imagery and water. Inland water depends on season, snow melt and more. For the airports, they are running new AI algorithms over the new imagery that will be coming in, and fixes will be provided through the world hub via users who have local knowledge and provide fixes/updates. It's impossible to handcode over 40,000+ airports worldwide, that's unrealistic and even the FAA, ICAO, Jeppesen etc don't have that level of data fidelity yet, although geospatial high res mapping of airports has been happening for over 10 years. On some of those fronts we need to have realistic expectations on what is actually available data wise at this time on earth.
Yeah they said that about msfs too. Put a slider for it and everything. But those boats look stationary in the trailer.
I bought a bunch of DC designs jets hoping they would be good, it’s like flying in FSX they are just too cartoonish.
Yeah, some other you tubers convinced me to buy it. The SC design F-16 was the reason i created this channel. At least they are trying to make it right after 3 years. Will they succeed at making a better plane…. Thanks for watching.
