CLIP DESCRIPTION:
David (Mark Wahlberg) follows Nicole's friend, Gary (Todd Caldecott), into the forest with the intent to murder him.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Mark Wahlberg stars in one of his first features as a hoodlum drug dealer from the wrong side of the trackswho falls in love with Nicole Walker, an upper-middle-class high school girl (Reese Witherspoon). In this psycho-drama (with the emphasis on psycho), Nicole happily loses her virginity to her first love, but, when she begins to doubt the relationship, his tenderness turns to violence, as he stalks and terrorizes her and her friends and family. The girl's father never trusted him in the first place, but his reservations about his daughter's first serious boyfriend are interpreted as Oedipal paranoia, until the boy and his drug-dealing, date-raping buddies besiege the overly fortified house in a twisted attempt to win back Nicole's love. The Seattle setting juxtaposes a grunge rock underworld with an over-privileged suburban household, and includes a very sexual ride on a roller-coaster. And yes, former underwear model Wahlberg appears shirtless several times.

I think this movie was a psa for girls and a needed one at the time after the teen horror flicks of the 80's sorta modernized teens to become desensitized to this stuff...and fear got them to look for warning signs get help not fall for it again and to choose nice boys you know over weird aggresive strangers you don't.....sadly not many saw it...thus they suffered the fate Nicole did but worse..

Was Gary unconscious when David snapped his neck or was he awake when it went down because it looks to me like he was knocked out as soon as he bounced on the ground so idk... He didn't even move those couple seconds when David finished him off or say anything but he did make a noise right before landing...

Narcissistic Tendencies This entire sequence was poorly paced. There wasn't enough time to comprehend if Gary was conscious enough.
Despite that, it was clear after he tripped he couldn't move quicker to run or defend himself. It's a shame he didn't have a weapon with him.
They're planning a remake of this movie so I hope next time there's a vast improvement.

There was plenty of potential but at that time it was just another "Good Girl Meets Bad Guy" horror/thriller movie.
