No I don't think we didn't missed these acquisitions is the most likely on the PS4 or on the PS3 like Konami and Electronics Arts and Fromsoftware and Capcom
I don’t understand why Sony hasn’t purchased Bandai Namco, Square Enix, From Software, and Quantic Dream. I’m sure one of these will be purchased this year.
Bandai and Square said they don't want to be acquired From Software is owned by a company, that Sony already owns a bit of it (not fully tho) And Quantic Dreams, just like many studios, wanted to go multiplatform
Bandai and Square are very much out of PlayStation budget. Fromsoftware its owned by Kadokawa and quantic dream dont want to make games for PS anymore, they get a BIG amounth of money from Tencent to go full 3rd party.
Well Bandai and Square would be very expensive, as already mentioned from software is already owned and along with Quantic Dream wanting to go platform, they also have been getting accusations of toxic work culture along with sexism and racism so that may keep Sony from going to them
because they don't have the money or relationships fell apart in the case of Quantic Dream. Bandai Namco's market cap is like 16 billion so acquiring them would cost maybe 20 billion at least if not more and Bandai Namco isn't just a games comany, they are also a toy company and toys is actually their main source of revenue Square Enix's market cap is 5.8 billion so acquiring them would cost about 8 billion (I could see sony buying square) Fromsoft is owned by KADOAWA which I could see sony buying
I don't know about you, but I have a weird feeling Disney could buy Ubisoft if they wanted to. I mean, they are making a Star Wars game, the gaming company made a lot of Disney games (old and new), even most modern Just Dance games have at least one Disney song in their tracklists.
Highly doubt games like Madden and FIFA will be exclusive to who ever buys EA. The NFL and FIFA will probably force EA to continue cross platforms like what the MLB did to Sony regarding MLB the show.
Sony can't afford to drop maybe 50 billion on EA. I am not one of the people who act like Sony can't afford to acquire companies but they can't afford someone like EA or take two
Calling it: - Sony buying FromSoftware, Capcom and/or Square Enix - Embracer buying CD Projekt Red and Bloober Team (latter may be under Koch) - Tencent buying the rest of Remedy Entertainment
Jim Ryan said to expect more acquisitions on the horizon, so I except at least one more big acqusition this year. Besides, this might be one of the few times they could play it off like Amazon, and use profits from their other sectors to finance more.
Sony has ten billion left. The following publishers would cost less than 10 billion to acquire: - Square Enix - Konami - Capcom - SEGA/ Atlus - WB Games - Ubisoft And that's just the money they set aside and budgeted for acquisitions for 2022-2023. No reason they can't adjust the budget if something good costs slightly more. Just some perspective for the people saying Sony can't afford anything. They can actually afford most things. That 10 billion alone can probably get them both Capcom and WB Games

If Microsoft bought another company, it should be Bandai Namco. They have some great IPs. 2 games I'd like to see them remaster are Xenosaga and the Tales series. They should have 343 Industries work on remastering both games on the SlipSpace Engine they used for Halo Infinite. Just imagine playing Xenosaga and Tales of Symphonia with the graphics of the SlipSpace Engine. This would also give 343 Industries more recognition than just making Halo games.
10. Konami has damaged their own reputation for the wrong reason thus they should be acquired by Sony or Microsoft just to better themselves. Those franchise should be rebooted while staying true to their origin just to start all over.
Here's a thing SF5 being exclusive to PS4 wasn't a smart move for Capcom and for that reason to put it on Number 1 pick I just don't understand it at all.
If I wanna be real honest here, NONE of them should be bought by the big 3. They've survived this long as partners, but also independently, so it would make no sense to purchase them under new management when they've pretty much proved themselves worthy of continuing forward without becoming exclusive to either of the big 3. Sony and Nintendo could instead buy smaller studios to really help them get their names recognized while Microsoft can just sit quietly in the corner with their already huge acquisitions recently. Speaking of the latter, how about Microsoft following Sony's recent statement about their Bungie acquisition and letting their 3rd party developers continue to be independent aka continue making multiplatform games. The recent groaning of players concerning Starfield being an Xbox and PC exclusive when Bethesda could've also brought it to PlayStation, or that future Bethesda and Activision Blizzard games, developed or published, becoming Xbox and PC exclusive is saying a lot. First party games can stay exclusive to their respective platforms, but 3rd-party ones should be made available to EVERYONE and on EVERY available platforms. While Sony have started to offer their first party exclusives to PC, they'll focus on making consoles games first and foremost and THEN port them later to PC.
What abouth Naughty dog, guerrilla, Insomniac, suker punch, bend studios etc etc of games that those studios made? They were Also acquired :D thsy should be on Xbox too right? Lol Wake up
Wow, watching this video, you'd get the impression that the only companies interested in acquisitions are platform owners. Like there aren't any other companies with $130+ billion in cash on its balance sheet who just released their first "AAA" game prematurely and might want to expand their gaming arm for better results. 🙄
Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo should team up and buy all 3rd party studios just to make sure Google, Amazon, FB, Apple, Tencent, etc doesn't get to them
Can they really do that though. We are talking about companies who can buy Nintendo or Sony like its nothing (granted I think the Japanese goverment would do anything and everything to stop a Nintendo acquisition due to that being Japan's modern identity at this point)
10 and 9. Konami has become a ruthless uncaring company run by South Park's version of Mickey Mouse and EA has become an Extortionist group run by an evil bizarro Scrooge McDuck, these 2 are in desperate need of... [Cue the under new management moment from Megamind]
...in what world would Capcom be 4B dollars, their market cap is around 6.4 billion dollars and you have to pay a premium on that to make the stockholders happy and stop them from sueing so lets say 10 billion for capcom and WB games wasn't sold because offers were far to low
At this point if Square Enix was acquired it’d be a good thing. Over the last 20 years they’ve completely lost touch with what made Square Soft or Enix what they were. Square Softs 90s Jrpg run was similar the Disney’s golden age movie run. They’ve strayed a loooooooong way since.
Sony could probably square, konami (granted they wouldn't buy Konami cos it would be a shit get) and SEGA granted the only one that seems realistic out of them is Square. I don't see why Sony would buy SEGA and capcom is probably a bit too expensive
Can't believe you didn't even mention SEGA! A company that has a huge fanbase, a library of legacy ip's who recently shut down its arcade production division - AND who MicroSoft is on the record of showing interest in purchasing a while ago. Sony would attempt to purchase SEGA out of pure spite for MicroSoft turning them down. It would be way cheaper than buying a UbiSoft or EA, that's for sure.
@@SuperNitroZ64 - MicroSoft allows the studios they own to operate independently, so if SEGA were to be owned by any console manufacturer, I for one would rather it be MicroSoft.
@@couldbetrento5850 Definitely wouldn't hurt for their team to have a 2nd franchise they work on instead of just always Forza Motorsport Plus they can, hopefully, revive Bizarre Creations as a new studio like how TellTale Games came back (or just make a completely new studio with new name) that can be focused on Blur and Project Gotham Racing!!! Maybe even also do a new 2nd Team under Turn10 focused on Blur and Project Gotham Racing!! People thinking that Sony and Microsoft buying EA or Take 2 will get them exclusives to Madden, 2k sports, and FIFA. Yeah, the NBA, NFL, FIFA, and the MLB will say other wise.
Japanese companies like Konami, Capcom, and Square Enix don’t seem likely to be acquired cuz of Japan’s very strict laws when it comes to acquisitions and a lot of people seem to forget about the stricter laws in Japan when it comes to this stuff and besides in Square Enix’s case they’re stubborn and like being 3rd party and making games for other systems cuz FF Origins is coming to Xbox next month along with both Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris as well as Chocobo GP coming to the Switch in March with Chocobo GP being a Switch exclusive.
its okay japanese laws aside no one wants square enix. like square isnt just about making video games...they do all sorts of other shit like music and stuff let along having their games be in development hell. they loyal to sony anyways so no one wants to move on them. capcom is highly valuable. bandai namco is as big as a EA in japan. fromsoft is good but they only make soulsborn games....iono capcom is definitely prized. still say take 2 is the golden ticket. nothing u can buy can march up to GTA let alone red dead. like if xbox wants some of the best single player 3rd person cinematic story games....rockstar makes some of the best. not to mention they make an amazing live service in gta online that prints money. add to that they also own zynga now for that mobile money.....

EA and ubisoft will be next, but my god if rockstar and CD projekt red are aquired that would be huge for fantastic exclusives, not to mention from software. but if these exclusives dont come to pc at some point that would be a real shot in the foot for the games longevity as alot of console gamers eventually go to PC

I can honestly see Amazon acquiring Ubisoft. Tencent acquiring a minority in EA, probably 30-50% as well as Konami in similar fashion. Microsoft going for Remedy and Warner Bros, if not their subsidiaries. Sony is more than likely to go for Capcom and if they could FromSoftware or their parent company if possible. If not then they'll try CD Projekt and also Warner Bros. Others that weren't mentioned on this list that is a possibility is Microsoft going for Sega. I can also see Sony going for Platinum Games and Arc System Works.
Why would Microsoft go after WB games? The only reason Microsoft original went after them was because they were for sale but you would get much from buying them as you wouldn't get the game licenses. I would imagine apple buying them would be much more likely since I could see apple buying WB discovery as a whole. I see microsoft picking up someone like take two or someone from Japan like capcom or Square way before WB games
I can see Microsoft buying capcom I think capcom want to see how a new atmosphere feels they already know how Sony and Nintendo atmosphere feels then after that they’ll choose who they really want to be with after that deal
They need to buy EA Games so they can do a deaf jam remake hopefully as well as James bond games I miss the classic games including rise to honor as well hope they do it!!!

@@ytv6602 yeah I don't picture that happening, escpecially with amazon who has been investing into gaming for a while now. What I would love to see is a Ubi-Konami-ioi merger to design the ultimate assassin game using the fox engine 🤷🏼♂️ or WB games/Ubi team up using the Nemesis System 🤯
I want a day where all publishers aren't stingy with their tech, knowledge, etc & share all that with each other (Between other game publishers & individual game studios/ teams/ solo devs)
I can see both sides of the coin when we're talking acquisitions. I can see Sony going for FromSoftware and Square Enix or Capcom for a lot of their games were made famous on the PlayStation. For Microsoft, I can see Remedy being a Xbox first party studio with the games they have exclusives on Xbox like Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and CrossfireX. If Microsoft wanted another Japanese company besides Tango Gameworks, Konami could be a nice workaround, especially with series like Metal Gear, Silent Hill and whatnot. I can see adding CDProjektRed, as they now will have a lot of RPG studios.
Sony HAS to buy Konami to save it and Capcom could be a good one and so could square enix EXCEPT those two already show Sony a lot of favoritism(paid) and exclusivity so they wouldn't be keeping much away from Xbox as some other purchases. I feel like if you're a square enix fan you should have a PS5 already
Konami is a much more of a gambling and fitness company than a gaming one at this point. Capcom I highly doubt, capcom themselves have said they want to make PC their main platform and would be pricy. I could see Sony buying square even if I don't think it's likely
1-Considering Konami still makes big bucks with Yuguioh, it being the 3rd best selling card game on the market clearly shows you have no clue about them 2-You do realize you're stating Sony or Microsoft buying a Warner bros owned branch? That's just impossible 3-10 years ago Square put themselves on a pedestal even so far as trying to shape their own big Hollywood studio. And they said they didn't want to be acquired. That's not happening.
Personally I'd prefer Konami at the top spot if this list, considering how it should be a reckoning for them due to their scummy business practices and horrific treatment of both their employees and ex-employees. Plus this list likely won't amount to anything if most of these companies aren't sold to larger companies.
Totally amazing video watch mojo, fantastic job. I love the yugioh video games that Konami makes even the new rush duel battle royals game, everything yugioh too. I don’t understand why Sony hasn’t purchased Bandai Namco, Square Enix, From Software, and Quantic Dream. I’m sure one of these will be purchased this year.
Bandai and Square said they don't want to be acquired
From Software is owned by a company, that Sony already owns a bit of it (not fully tho)
And Quantic Dreams, just like many studios, wanted to go multiplatform
Bandai and Square are very much out of PlayStation budget.
Fromsoftware its owned by Kadokawa and quantic dream dont want to make games for PS anymore, they get a BIG amounth of money from Tencent to go full 3rd party.
Well Bandai and Square would be very expensive, as already mentioned from software is already owned and along with Quantic Dream wanting to go platform, they also have been getting accusations of toxic work culture along with sexism and racism so that may keep Sony from going to them
because they don't have the money or relationships fell apart in the case of Quantic Dream.
Bandai Namco's market cap is like 16 billion so acquiring them would cost maybe 20 billion at least if not more and Bandai Namco isn't just a games comany, they are also a toy company and toys is actually their main source of revenue
Square Enix's market cap is 5.8 billion so acquiring them would cost about 8 billion (I could see sony buying square)
Fromsoft is owned by KADOAWA which I could see sony buying
I don't know about you, but I have a weird feeling Disney could buy Ubisoft if they wanted to. I mean, they are making a Star Wars game, the gaming company made a lot of Disney games (old and new), even most modern Just Dance games have at least one Disney song in their tracklists.
Why would they? Disney failed to enter the industry and quit. Now they making easy money by licensing IP.
Well I'll take Disney acquired Ubisoft over Tencent any day lol
Watchmojo here trolling Sony and MS 😂
your lack of SEGA is disturbing
Kojima Productions is more likely to be acquired by Sony or Microsoft than Konami.
Ubi-Soft needs to revive The Rayman Franchise.
I know. It is absurd that there are making less games for their mascots then all of their other IPs.
Yes there was any we missed like Electronic Arts and Ubisoft and From software and Capcom are these acquisitions video games on the PS3 or on the PS4
I should acquire EA Sports because of the NFL, NBA Live and the Fight Night franchises
NBA Live is dead
Plus nba is 2k not ea
The only reason they made this list is because Microsoft is acquiring Activision and Sony acquired Bungie.
Microsoft, Sony, either one of you, please buy EA and save BioWare!!!
And save Madden!
Highly doubt games like Madden and FIFA will be exclusive to who ever buys EA. The NFL and FIFA will probably force EA to continue cross platforms like what the MLB did to Sony regarding MLB the show.
there is no hope for madden. focus on fifa.
@@therealhoodelf fuck madden have 2k have them just buy bioware
Sony can't afford to drop maybe 50 billion on EA. I am not one of the people who act like Sony can't afford to acquire companies but they can't afford someone like EA or take two
You failed to mention the Hudson Soft games for Konami and Rayman and the Rabbids for Ubisoft
Someone needs to buy Konami. So silent hill and many more games can come back for a new generation
You have the extra baggage though, gambling machines, that sort of stuff
Sony should get it so we can some Silent Hills closure

Calling it:
- Sony buying FromSoftware, Capcom and/or Square Enix
- Embracer buying CD Projekt Red and Bloober Team (latter may be under Koch)
- Tencent buying the rest of Remedy Entertainment
It would make the most sense for Sony to buy Square Enix and From Software, since a majority of their games start off as PlayStation exclusives.
Sony couldn't afford all them
Jim Ryan said to expect more acquisitions on the horizon, so I except at least one more big acqusition this year.
Besides, this might be one of the few times they could play it off like Amazon, and use profits from their other sectors to finance more.
Sony has ten billion left. The following publishers would cost less than 10 billion to acquire:
- Square Enix
- Konami
- Capcom
- SEGA/ Atlus
- WB Games
- Ubisoft
And that's just the money they set aside and budgeted for acquisitions for 2022-2023. No reason they can't adjust the budget if something good costs slightly more. Just some perspective for the people saying Sony can't afford anything. They can actually afford most things. That 10 billion alone can probably get them both Capcom and WB Games

Embracer Group in future buying publisher is best option
Unless they pull a 180 on us in future and sell all their studios to Tencent
If that ever happened there would be violence across the whole gaming community.
Sony can't buy Warner brothers interactive because Warner brothers and Sony are rivals 😁😁 and square Enix works for Disney

EA need to get bought and broken up
Agreed
Same goes for Take-Two
Seperate Rockstar, 2K, & all the others from each other
Here's a thing SF5 being exclusive to PS4 wasn't a smart move for Capcom and for that reason to put it on Number 1 pick I just don't understand it at all.
Take two could make a good choice with Microsoft because they have a good relationship with them they work together in the outer worlds
Also I could see microsoft wanting them just to stop someone like apple from buying them
If I wanna be real honest here, NONE of them should be bought by the big 3.
While Sony have started to offer their first party exclusives to PC, they'll focus on making consoles games first and foremost and THEN port them later to PC.
too bad sony locks down final fantasy so its only fair microsoft lockdown starfield and all bethesda games.
Sony would take good care of these companies if they Buy them. For example Capcom in the early days.
The 2 best acqusitions right now will be Capcom and WB. Both of them around the 4B.
Lets see who get them first
...in what world would Capcom be 4B dollars, their market cap is around 6.4 billion dollars and you have to pay a premium on that to make the stockholders happy and stop them from sueing so lets say 10 billion for capcom and WB games wasn't sold because offers were far to low
I would love for Sony to buy Square Capcom Konami and even Sega but, they just don't have the funds for it.
They may be to acquire one or two of them
Sony could probably square, konami (granted they wouldn't buy Konami cos it would be a shit get) and SEGA granted the only one that seems realistic out of them is Square. I don't see why Sony would buy SEGA and capcom is probably a bit too expensive

Maybe even also do a new 2nd Team under Turn10 focused on Blur and Project Gotham Racing!!
That would be best option, oh and another thing I would love for all EA named studios to get their own names for uniqueness and grow culture at each studio, EA Baton Rouge, EA Chillingo, etc etc sound so generic, dead, & plain (There's 13 EA "Something" studios)
People thinking that Sony and Microsoft buying EA or Take 2 will get them exclusives to Madden, 2k sports, and FIFA. Yeah, the NBA, NFL, FIFA, and the MLB will say other wise.
Nobody tell them fromsoft is already owned

I want a rerelease of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, a Remaster of Metal Gear Solid 4 and I still want a BETTER MGS1 Remake. I wasn't entirely satisfied with The Twin Snakes. It wasn't good enough!

Sony HAS to buy Konami to save it and Capcom could be a good one and so could square enix EXCEPT those two already show Sony a lot of favoritism(paid) and exclusivity so they wouldn't be keeping much away from Xbox as some other purchases.
