I remember the days of Odin owns ye all, when Einherjer was THE vikingmetal band. To me atleast. Great to hear new stuff from one of the greats of the genre🤟

Really good! That verse with the unresolved tension, tri-tone heaven. Come the chorus and it all resolves with that driving rythm, letting it all that evil just spurting out. Soooo good!
This is in every aspect a great continuation of your legacy, and also the new aspects and technical developement in your music rival your classics. Well done ^^
Haven't heard anything from them at least since 2001. Glad they are back. P.S.: Sorry, since 1999, when I first time checked "Dragons of the North" out.
Very nice mid-tempo asskicker from one of my most favorite bands. Some nice leads at the end as well. Been a fan from day one, they have some weak albums and some great, with their opus magnum for me being Norron.
Just curious we hen did they get back together? I remember hearing some of the members for the band called Battery. I've been out of the loop for a while when it comes down to metal.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Goth Metal, but I've been into Einherjer for 20 years now and never thought of them as that genre, they're clearly pagan/viking metal. Awesome band :)
@@Rodj71 Most of those euro bands are connected, and used to be showcased on a very popular Norweigan Shoutcast channel called World Goth Metal Radio (Gotham Radio) - it's what introduced me to all these amazing bands and the term called Goth Metal. You should look into it and you'll find a lot of cool bands, just like Einherjer.
@@systemdeadlock I am happy that you love this band and support other amazing Metal bands, and it's great that such stations exist to allow people to discover them for themselves :) But I maintain, Einherjer are not Goth Metal. Bands like Paradise Lost, Cradle of Filth, Lacrimosa and Moonspell are, loads of others obviously, but Einherjer are clearly Viking Metal / blackened folk - not Goth :) Heavy metal has developed over my life time, from it's early days, and I have always had my finger on the pulse. Love discovering new bands, and follow so many, it is a passion :)
@@Rodj71 It's just a semantics issue. Most US westerners don't understand the term goth metal and get easily confused by emo bands. But most European metal fans understand that it's a general terminology that includes sub genres such as viking, folk, classical, symphonic, doom, death, black, troll, etc. etc. etc. Case in point, look at Wacken, and the metal cruise concert etc. They feature many artists from those collective sub genres. Also, in Sweden, home of many viking and black metal bands, as well as bands such as In Flames etc. some hail from a place called Gothenburg. So I wouldn't get hung up on semantics if I were you, and instead look at the links most of these bands have with each other. Take band Asmegin and Lars Nedland and all his projects as an example. In the end, we enjoy the same thing regardless of whether you choose to accept what I call it or not.
@@systemdeadlock Yes, as I say, I am knowledgeable about these things, haha! I don't get too hung up, but sometimes, y'know...! :D I'm in the UK, by the way, not American. Love a lot of US metal bands, of course, but my favourite ones are European. You talk to me like I am a newbie, lol - "A place called Gothenberg" - I was into the whole Gothenberg death metal scene when it first started, and into Metal 10 years before that.
Not Black, neither Death! But i love it! :) It got the high pitch of a black song, but is somewhat close to the bass death voice! Curious to see what a "enciclopedia" metal fan will describe as is what genre is...male or female! lol
If you wanted to peg into a specific "sub genre" it could probably be classed as pagan/Blackened Folk. I've always put them in the same camp as Thyrfing and Moonsorrow
The band is awesome. Shame the growler can only growl. Would be so much more interesting if he could sing too. Give it some texture and color, it wouldn’t be so flat.
Those were great albums, but most bands do move on and evolve their sound over time, largely as it keeps it interesting and challenging for themselves, and they're the ones writing and playing after all :)
I remember the days of Odin owns ye all, when Einherjer was THE vikingmetal band. To me atleast. Great to hear new stuff from one of the greats of the genre🤟
Same
I still play the Far, Far North EP. That one and Odin owns ye all are my favourites 🤘
Heh, Bathory still existed then and they were THE viking metal band and the founder of the genre }:>
@@Micke_K Oh,yes!!! Hail´s to the great Hall!!! Hail`s to Quorthon!!! \m/ ...Einherjer is a great Band!
The last time I was delighted in this way were the songs "Fast as a shark", "Creeping death" and "Sorcerer's pledge". Thank you.
Very good, typical Einherjer sound and song! I love it!

Really good! That verse with the unresolved tension, tri-tone heaven. Come the chorus and it all resolves with that driving rythm, letting it all that evil just spurting out. Soooo good!
Very very VERY V E R Y underrated Band of this genre.
Now THAT is a groove. Nice.
Frode hit a home run with the song.
Omfg I'm so happy! Was not expecting this, had no idea there's a new album coming!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Great band live and on CD. Classic Heathen Metal. One of the reasons I started doing Hexenklad.
Very nice, the bass lines are very catching
Spectacular return.... Really great sound!!!
Absolutely killer 🤯❤️
2:57 gave me an "Ironbound" flashback :D

Wow
Love that guy's voice, but I think the guitars could stand to be louder. All in all, decent sound.
Shitt super🤘😝
Мне одной слышится мелодия Black Sabbath "Heaven and Hell"?
смотрите канал "Napalm Records", там нас совсем нет, нужны комменты!
Не мелодия, а самый надоевший бас. Такой же у manowar “warriors of the world united” и великого множества хэви метал групп
Finally the first English language album in 18 years.... The bitches are back from the dead!
Ole - your no longer the young blood - make sure you pick on the new guy!!
"Darkness broke my phone"??

It says viking metal on google
Ohh so it was a viking metal, just like Amon Amarth..Amon Amarth was the best viking metal too
Einherjer started out at the same time as Amon Amarth in early 90s. One is a pure viking metal band and the other is vikingthemed deathmetal.
VG-
??? Are they returned to Napalm Records...?
Yes!
Voices from the Great Continental Divide can't reach for this. Iz Napalm spread thin in Airwaves???

Heavy rock
Definitely metal. Heavy rock is stuff like Guns n Roses, Airbourne and Foo Fighters.
I miss Norwegian Native art and Blot days. I hope the rest of the album better than this.
