Thanks for the videos my friend. I absolutely love your dedication to your hobbies, and filming them only makes the experience that much better. Keep it up and I'll keep tuning in.
I love listening to your videos while working, block out the other office noises and replaces it with something calming that helps me focus :) Thank you!
I love these educational ones. I recently found a 1962 nickle in my pocket change, and it's the oldest coin I believe I've found so far. This is perfectly timed for that, and I'll be checking my coins more often now! Thank you for the upload!
I've got a tip for you. Aluminum foil in a saucepan. Place some dirty coins on the foil. Make sure you have a lot of baking soda at home and cover everything with baking soda. Then poor hot water over everything, wait a few minutes and let the magic happen. That's how you clean silver without scratching it.
Its funny that you mentioned that you can still find old coins. I went to a hole in the wall jewish bakery about 15 years ago. I bought a Mr/Dr? Brown's soda from the vending machine and took my change like very one else does. I get home and about to empty the change from my pocket when I noticed one coin didnt feel right. Long story short it turned out to be an 1867 shield nickel.
+RelaxingASMR It's best if you make a paste of the baking soda, then rub the paste onto the coin, then drop it in the vinegar. Baking soda also works wonders on old coffee cups. Good luck.
I believe the cut off date was '63 or '64. My Grandmother must of told me this in passing over 25 years ago and love that I even remember close to what she said... briefly in passing.
cool! 1964 is the last year US coinage used silver for our dimes, quarters & half dollars . full size 90%silver dollars ceased in mid 1930's. My Great Uncle (my grandmas brother) told me when I was a boy.
+Chicken Heart those coins are junk silver they're only worth their own weight in silver so if the weight is not affected then the value stays the same, didn't take me much to get there lol i mean he says in the video they're not collectable coins
I assume he uses lemon juice because its common, cheap, nd easy to come by. Idk about you but I dont know where I can just pick up some hydrochloric acid at will
Great video as usual. I noticed that you used plain lemon juice. I've seen videos on cleaning coins on other channels where they add a pinch of a salt to the LJ. The addition of some salt works much better than LJ by itself.
+kenny Dhal Saturn is Cronus, which is the Greek son of Gaia (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Which is the name of the other planet). Cronus is the dude that ate the gods and is the father of Zeus.
I really dig your videos, nice and fact filled! can you do another drawing video but this time draw an aircraft of your choice? (in a big aviation geek)
They're cleaner, but they're heavily scratched by your cleaning pad. It's fine since these really weren't really collectable, other than the silver value or fun value, bur never do this to coins in better condition, even if dirty. All condition value will be lost ...
+Mike Rivera Very true...never do to a truly collectable coin what I did with this junk silver coin. My late uncle was a numismatist and he would have slapped that scotch-brite pad from my hands if he'd been around. Thanks for commenting.
Next time you go to taco bell get some of that fire sauce. Makes an old penny look new in minutes and i'll bet one of my toes it'd do the same for silver.
True, but they're really just different names for the same thing. They both stem from the same ancient god, just like Ancient Greek and Latin stem from the same more ancient language.
+Roflcopter4b True while technically they are different names for the same "God", it pays to know the difference between Roman mythology and Greek mythology. The Romans stole a lot from Greek culture including their Gods but they are very much different in personality and looks. Mercury is not like Hermes
+Roflcopter4b Early Romans certainly had their own "Gods" that were more animistic. It wasn't until they came in contact with the Greeks that they began to associate their own Gods with that of the Greeks as well as copy a few and add them to their own. This was the point in which the Roman Gods took on more human attributes including image. This was also when the Romans gave their Gods Greek like mythologies.
Brandon Gilbert Sure, their culture was heavily influenced by contact with the Greeks, but this was possible because all of their gods stemmed from the same ones from which the Greek gods did. It was easy to apply the Greek mythology to them because they were so similar already.
Don't put it in your pocket. It's your lucky quarter. Anywhere, not in your pocket, where it'll get mixed in with the others and become just a coin. Which it is.
+RelaxingASMR what's special about a 1956 dime? also I have some 1944 or 1946 pennies laying around here somewhere are they special? or worth more than usual?
I can't get more than 10 minutes in without falling asleep. Such a perfect sleep aid video. Love it! Thank you!
+Amber Puckett Glad to help:)

Your voice is asmr alone! This is an amazing video, that green thing that you were using to move the dimes made some amazing sounds.
I always learn so much with your vides!
Relaxation and a history lesson! Perfect combo.

+P-O Andersson Sounds like the making of a really fun video....hmmm
The mercury dime may have a more creative design but honestly I like the barber design more.

thank you for this tingles and information!
Coins are so relaxing!!! :D
I use vinegar and baking soda to clean my 'junk silver.' It works rather quickly and well. It also makes an ASMR-ish fizzing sound.
+William Williams I'll use that method next time. Thanks.

what is the glass stick you use in your videos called and where did you buy it
+stephen allen It is the "stick of ASMR" and is actually a dip pen made of glass. You can find them online.
RelaxingASMR thanks it looks really nice
Coin sounds are hit or miss for me, but this one was perfect as always! :) Thank you!
i just love how he posts mature videos, yet he has a doggo profile picture lmao
That's so cool, I want to find a silver coin in my change one day! Great vid as always!
What kind of camera do you use?
you're so close to 50,000 subscribers!! :)
This was very good. Good video :)
+Little Watermelon Thanks! Your channel looks interesting. I'll have to check that out later.
+RelaxingASMR I thought scratching coins is a big no-no for collectors, since it can devalue them.
+Chicken Heart those coins are junk silver they're only worth their own weight in silver so if the weight is not affected then the value stays the same, didn't take me much to get there lol i mean he says in the video they're not collectable coins
+RelaxingASMR lol your profile pic is comedy 😂👍is that your dog?
+Mr. Monopoly (10crlos) Indeed. That's my little four-legged friend.
I really like these coin videos ,hope you do another ink video, also I don't know much about cleaning coins but I think iso would work
Why not use a strongr acid? Does anything stronger than lemon juice damage silver?
I assume he uses lemon juice because its common, cheap, nd easy to come by. Idk about you but I dont know where I can just pick up some hydrochloric acid at will
this is so good
Th oldest dime I have is from the 1820s. It also has an image of lady liberty on it but is definitely not the mercury design of her.
PLEASE! do more videos on dimes!
Great video as usual.
I noticed that you used plain lemon juice. I've seen videos on cleaning coins on other channels where they add a pinch of a salt to the LJ. The addition of some salt works much better than LJ by itself.
+Frank Cava Oh yeah? I'll have to try that. Thanks!
Isn't Mercury the Roman version of the god, not Greek?
Hermes was the Greek one... I finally remembered lmao
The planets are named after the Roman gods. So, Mars is Ares while Jupiter is Zeus and so on and so forth.
+Livius Zelux Poseidon is Neptune, Hades is Pluto, Aphrodite is Venus, the others elude me.
+kenny Dhal Saturn is Cronus, which is the Greek son of Gaia (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Which is the name of the other planet). Cronus is the dude that ate the gods and is the father of Zeus.
Livius Zelux I'm a bit dusty on my Greek Mythology I'm afraid
a... .ballpoint pen...?? never thought i'd see the day! ahaha jokes.
doea anyone have any 1921d mercuru dimes for sale in F or Vf condition for
Mr. chair buttons check eBay.
I’ve found that isopropyl alcohol works well to restore coins
I really dig your videos, nice and fact filled! can you do another drawing video but this time draw an aircraft of your choice? (in a big aviation geek)
>Coin's date is 1943
"The designer, Adol-" *video freezes*
Caught the John Lennon quote: "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans"
They also call it a liberty head dime.
Could you do a writing/drawing video while snacking on something please?
I have found using a product called Brasso and a soft cloth will make coins look new again

Mercury is the Roman messenger god
Is it any wonder whether a Liberty Head Dime will bee available for RE VIEW, outliving the death of this planet?
You should of added some salt to the lemon juice, works better.
Next time you go to taco bell get some of that fire sauce.

The Romans didn't steal anything. As I said, their gods both stemmed from the same ancestor, just like their languages did.

OK show of hands: how many people think when that box opens at the end it should be full of gold doubloons and gems and human teeth and whatnot. ..?
I don't keep such things in "that" box. :)

No country for old men!!! I love that movie that's exactly what I thought of when I saw it.
So each of those coins in your junk silver box are worth at least a dollar? Probably almost 2-3 times more for quarters..
+Zack Vance I'd say that is a fair assessment.
If you shake your screen (better a mobile device ;) ) while the zoom-in starting at about a minute it looks really funny... xD
