AWESOME adaption of a "device" similar to a nixi tube with a combined steampunk and aquarium theme.I really like the added coloured lights to the whole set-up also. Very creative.
I just had to come back and watch this video again after the Ohio Haunter just made one and referenced you guys. I can't believe I didn't comment way back then. LOL This is one of my all time favorite props and your mad lab was amazing. I have been looking at our dollar tree every year at school time and haven't found those metal clip holders yet.
very nice. you could also run the tubing directly through the copper pipe with holes drilled in the bottom, or you could just run small copper tubing down. which can be rather expensive. but if you have a habitat for humanity store near you you can get that stuff for cheap there sometimes.
Quick question, is the copper in the small pipe that attaches to the aquarium pump to make the aquarium work or is it purely to keep the plastic wrapped around the pipe? As i was thinking if its not a person could probably drill holes into the large copper pipe in the center and use small zip ties to keep it wrapped around if a person was to not have access to copper pipe.
My favorite part about it is you can keep it around all year as it looks cool for any office etc... I'd pile on about the lack of 2012 Haunt video too but I haven't put mine out yet either? I'm not motivated for some reason to work on videos...I am motivated to start planning a new theme for next year however :)
Have you ever seen the 1961 babes in toyland poof gun. Its a toy pirate gun with a beaker, copper tube, & a horn. manly its a shrink gun. Well to the point, I'm trying to make that prop & wondered if you have any suggestions on how to make a closed container to bubble, as in foam bubble consistency.
thank you for inspiring me. I might try a T piece so I can have the aquarium stone as well as another outlet with a small tap for thicker bubbles :) :) also I never would have guessed it was a Voss Bottle, well hidden :) :)
BEN HOWMAN you could put a light bulb on top of the extra copper tube then water proof it in the b8ttle(hot glue the copper tube to bottom of tube ) then feed the light bulb wire down and then done you could put a plug on the wire
Tiffy T-Rex you might check your local hardware store to see if they have plain copper wire that is already stripped, you want 12gauge so it will be stiff enough to hold the coil shape around the larger copper pipe. I went with solid core 12 gauge wire with the jacket cause it was cheaper than already stripped copper
Im going to try this except instead of an air line going down, have a bubble disk at the base and use epoxy putty to make the hole where the barb would come out watertight, and use the copper downpipe and internal tube to house glow or el wire for light, having it spiral down then return inside the tube. this is brilliant and gonna be perfect for something im wanting to build
HAWSOM;;.I have a box of those Voss bottles in my garage that I've "collected'(kept every one I've come across for no particular reason) and I can't think of anything better to use them with!!! I've been trying to configure something pretty much just like this....with a glass tesr tube inside and conctete ends. ......
I've actually been making videos on how I made something close to your design but modified a bit. Yours still easily trumps mine but the differences in methods between the two could make for some interesting props in the future.
To anyone who has already watched this video series, I put both videos together and you can see added footage starting at about 16:35 of the complete finished prop, so fast forward to that section to see the new stuff added.
Thank You You can light it from the bottom as I showed in the video LEDs have come a long way since we posted that many years ago. I wouldn’t recommend lighting from the top since that would mix electricity and water. We have always lighted ours from the bottom and the ones we build and sell all work that way too
+gothgloom I'll check Michael's. I don't have a HL here. Wish I did! Thanks!! This looks fantastic by the way. I'm doing a zombie vaccine lab this year in my haunt and want to incorporate this.
no, eventually the pressure from the air outside the tube would force the water to just fill the tube since the volume of the bottle is greater than that of the tube.
Holy cow! That's awesome! I have a question though: How do you make the actual box? My friend wanted me to make the box for him and I'm just wondering what you did to make it. How do you make the extra holders on top of the box? What's the second story for inside of the box? It would be great if you could help me! Thank you! :D
Hey, hello, how are you thank you,..! I have a project: Where are you located? My project is to attach, a Victorian Chair to a 4 wheel walker, any ideas?? Please,..?? Where are you located?
We use the plastic Voss bottles, they have a clear label that peels right off, if you have the glass bottle the label does not come off easily so we don't recommend them plus it's glass and I don't like to use glass in a haunted attraction Hope that helps Gothgloom
Since I've never worked with the glass ones I wouldn't know how you would remove it , I've heard of people doing it but I don't know what they did As far as the plastic bottles go, I've had mine that's in the final shots of the video since 2013 with no issues And it's displayed in our living room
to straighten a wire instantly, clamp one end down, grasp the other with pliers, and give it a little tog with gently momentum. (or have a helper and two pairs of pliers)
I was wondering when you were going to resurface. Can't wait to see more vids and see you guys on SOP. Since there are no haunt vids out on yoiur haunt you must have had everyone sign some sort of dislosure letter not to publish any vids of your walkthru.
How many millilitres does the bottle you used hold? Because I'm making a set of bubble tubes for a web series I'm doing called Professor Chronos, and one of the tubes is going in the time machine.
+gothgloom if using glass the label comes right off if gently scraped with a knife a little or a lot then sand paper the rest of the way off. If pressing hard with the sandpaper or busing coarse grit can scratch the glass so be gentle and use a finer grit paper.
Our local grocery store HEB has them. They carry both the plastic and glass, they also carry different sizes and I used the large plastic ones, if you can find them at a store near you they are the easiest to work with and the label peels off with little effort and leaves you with a nice clean clear plastic I've had mine since I posted this and have had zero issues with them
Yes, Thank yo, Q: Where can you get, extra long water bottles like, that? I have seen people use them, before, I just don't know where they get, them, from? Hmmmm??
Evona A Grochowski I used glass ones and they also sell plastic at the grocery store. Voss water bottles, look by the water section and you should find them.
You should be very proud of that prop. It is top notch!
AWESOME adaption of a "device" similar to a nixi tube with a combined steampunk and aquarium theme.I really like the added coloured lights to the whole set-up also. Very creative.
Thank you for making this video, I used some of your ideas and incorporated into my build and looks wonderful 👍
Super nice idea, Disney would be proud. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this video. My Halloween costume will look amazing with this added to it. :)
thanks you just gave me great insperation for a project
I know I'm a little late on this video, 😅 but do you think you could place place the pump down through the middle of the tube?
Would a heat gun help you strip the wire casing off easier?
ok cool, I've only found glass ones but I'll keep looking. Thank you for you time and info
You're welcome. Good Luck !!!
great ideas, well done on making this and for sharing to the steampunk community 5 *****
Wow! Very cool! Great job; thank you for sharing!
very nice. you could also run the tubing directly through the copper pipe with holes drilled in the bottom, or you could just run small copper tubing down. which can be rather expensive. but if you have a habitat for humanity store near you you can get that stuff for cheap there sometimes.
I've looked for the metal containers you used for caps and can't find anything like them anymore
Nicely done. Very creative.
very nice prop I love it, but couldn't you fill them strait thru the copper pipe?
Great seeing a vid from you guys again!!!
Great prop. How can I make it portable as a backpack? Power source wise?
Can you make a bubble panel portable? I am working on this product but that one of the first steps I need to take
Excellent Idea, thanks for sharing!
My favorite part about it is you can keep it around all year as it looks cool for any office etc...
I'd pile on about the lack of 2012 Haunt video too but I haven't put mine out yet either? I'm not motivated for some reason to work on videos...I am motivated to start planning a new theme for next year however :)
This gives me so many ideas, thanks so much
Great Job thanks so much for taking the time to make this vid. Have you tried adding oil?
Did Mary do the painting behind you? She is a great artist. Her staircase was freaking awesome!!! Josh Kirk
beth Schuler Thank You, actually that was a wall mural we purchased when we first moved in but the staircase was all Mary
do you happen to have the size of the box you made for the bottles to sit on, also what did you use for the ring on the box around the bottles?
Have you ever seen the 1961 babes in toyland poof gun. Its a toy pirate gun with a beaker, copper tube, & a horn. manly its a shrink gun. Well to the point, I'm trying to make that prop & wondered if you have any suggestions on how to make a closed container to bubble, as in foam bubble consistency.
thank you for inspiring me. I might try a T piece so I can have the aquarium stone as well as another outlet with a small tap for thicker bubbles :) :) also I never would have guessed it was a Voss Bottle, well hidden :) :)
And an LED base would be awesome also
BEN HOWMAN you could put a light bulb on top of the extra copper tube then water proof it in the b8ttle(hot glue the copper tube to bottom of tube ) then feed the light bulb wire down and then done you could put a plug on the wire
Can I use any other kind of wire? Something cheap that I won't have to strip. Something ready to use.
Tiffy T-Rex you might check your local hardware store to see if they have plain copper wire that is already stripped, you want 12gauge so it will be stiff enough to hold the coil shape around the larger copper pipe. I went with solid core 12 gauge wire with the jacket cause it was cheaper than already stripped copper
those are fantastic .. great work..
why not put the air hose through the copper pipe and then come up from the bottom with the air hose?
Super awesome man!
Thank you I look forward to seeing a picture when you are finished building it!
very cool. where do you get your guages?
What is the diameter of the lid of the bottle?
whats that song in his intro?
Very cool. But why can't you fill it from the top of the copper pipe? Seems like that would be easier than unscrewing it and the reassembling.
HAWSOM;;.I have a box of those Voss bottles in my garage that I've "collected'(kept every one I've come across for no particular reason) and I can't think of anything better to use them with!!! Very nice. When is our next meeting? Did you see the twisting graveyard guy?
Wow! This thing looks awesome!
i made my bubble tubes and it is amazingggg!!! would love to show it to you! but can't find how! thank you soooo much!!!!!
would love to send you photo of what i made using your tutorial!!!
where to??????????
To anyone who has already watched this video series, I put both videos together and you can see added footage starting at about 16:35 of the complete finished prop, so fast forward to that section to see the new stuff added.
Would there be a way to use led lights in the top or bottom?? Love your project TX
Thank You
You can light it from the bottom as I showed in the video
LEDs have come a long way since we posted that many years ago. I wouldn’t recommend lighting from the top since that would mix electricity and water. We have always lighted ours from the bottom and the ones we build and sell all work that way too
Where did you find the wood disks on the bottom of each bottle?
We found them at Michaels craft store
I think I might've also seen them at Hobby Lobby too
+gothgloom I'll check Michael's. I don't have a HL here. Wish I did! Thanks!! This looks fantastic by the way. I'm doing a zombie vaccine lab this year in my haunt and want to incorporate this.
no, eventually the pressure from the air outside the tube would force the water to just fill the tube since the volume of the bottle is greater than that of the tube.
i would love to buy one like that
You could also put the bubbler in the bottom of the copper pipe and the bubbles would come from the bottom of the copper pipe.
abcnoyes2 The bubbles would go up, not down and out the pipe
Holy cow! That's awesome! I have a question though:
How do you make the actual box? My friend wanted me to make the box for him and I'm just wondering what you did to make it. How do you make the extra holders on top of the box? What's the second story for inside of the box? It would be great if you could help me! Thank you! :D
That's pretty freakin awesome
Hey, hello, how are you thank you,..! I have a project: Where are you located? My project is to attach, a Victorian Chair to a 4 wheel walker, any ideas?? Please,..?? Where are you located?
Do you keep the Voss emblem on the bottles? If you don't, how did you remove them?
We use the plastic Voss bottles, they have a clear label that peels right off, if you have the glass bottle the label does not come off easily so we don't recommend them plus it's glass and I don't like to use glass in a haunted attraction
Hope that helps
Gothgloom
huh. I got the glass ones to be a more permanent fixture, not just a prop. Do you have a good tip to remove them? At this point, anything will help.
Since I've never worked with the glass ones I wouldn't know how you would remove it , I've heard of people doing it but I don't know what they did
As far as the plastic bottles go, I've had mine that's in the final shots of the video since 2013 with no issues
And it's displayed in our living room
mtgemperor Try acetone
very nice and very well done!

Professor Chronos It's a wine bottle, so it holds 750ml (3/4 Liter)
@@francoismercier8008 Your comment is 2 years old but for future readers, it's not a wine bottle. It's a VOSS water bottle. It's 800mL.
hey, how did you get the labeling off the bottle??
I use the plastic bottles so it peels off very easily
Not sure if you are using the glass ones
+gothgloom if using glass the label comes right off if gently scraped with a knife a little or a lot then sand paper the rest of the way off. If pressing hard with the sandpaper or busing coarse grit can scratch the glass so be gentle and use a finer grit paper.
WD-40 will take off the label
I was going to use glass, I didn't know theses bottles came in plastic. Where did you get the plastic ones if you don't mind?
Our local grocery store HEB has them. They carry both the plastic and glass, they also carry different sizes
and I used the large plastic ones, if you can find them at a store near you they are the easiest to work with and the label peels off with little effort and leaves you with a nice clean clear plastic

Absolutely love it!!!
So awesome, I love it ! That's such a good idea. :D
One question... how did you deal with the lettering/logo on the bottle?
I was wondering this too. How did you remove the logo?
On the to do list thanks.
thanks for sharing i love the way it looks happy new year !! HFL!!
Looks very cool
extremely cool man!!
wow i think im going to try something like this for the haunt im with
you dont have ghost do i seen a orb
good stuff dude!
Great Job!!!!!!
i have no crafts skills what so ever, would be cool if you sold these (even cooler with the whole box set up at the end)
That's great, but where is the haunt video??? I heard someone came for a visit. :)
So Awesome!
Very cool
That was awesome, thanks
Awesome.
Why don't you just fill it through the copper tube. I didn't see it being sealed.
I have to make another bubble machine, someone just bought my first one. My next one will be even fancier than the first.
you are awesome!!!
very cool!! like like like!!! all the way from Israel
Love it
Thanks
I second this. I gather we're need some kind of motor powered by batteries, but none comes to mind, it's way out of my area of knowledge.
Cool
Voss from Norway :P
woooooow
In a month or so that stale water will be nasty.
By the way, this is my biggest project, ever,....! Thus far,..!
BAD ASS
ok, I see you have eye protection, but you didn't mention how important it is, so I'm mentioning it. Last thing we need is metal debris in our eyes.
marycozzens Auldridge what would you use eye protection for... other than eye protection?
Make a real one. Learn how to produce a hydrogen cell, use that hydrogen in dozens of ways.
