    You guys are my favourite sailing family. I am not one to leave comments but I have to say you guys are great. I really like how humble Andy is about his knowledge and how he shares very valuable information to people like me who are just getting ready for the same adventure. The videos are very well done and informative. Very nice family and so genuine. Cheers

      Hi Nathalie! Thank you for your kind comments we really appreciate it. Before we started this entire adventure we too had lots and lots of questions. There are a lot of fun sailing channels but we always found ourselves still asking questions. Our goal is to share real, honest, no drama information peppered with some fun to not only pass on our real-life experience but to hopefully motivate and inspire others to go after their dreams. Email us at svoliluki@icloud.com with your questions. We’re happy to help out anyway we can. We also know a wonderful broker if you’re in need or want to ask her questions as well. All the best! Andy

    The boys are great. Like father like son. So detailed. They're growing up so fast and obviously enjoying their adventure. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and have fun. Gary and Linda, Clayton, CA

      Hi Gary and Linda! The boys are indeed loving this adventure. They’re also becoming valuable crew members and of course better chefs by the day. At some point I hope to find a kind and willing super yacht crew to give them (us) a tour of their galley and speak with the Executive Chef about the path of getting to that level of Culinary Master 😊. All the best ~Andy

    Cannot wait to see the next vids in the Bahamas!!!!! excited for you. Also curious about lithium. I cannot remember from past videos, but I am sure it was considered.

    • @sailingsvoliluki6938
      @sailingsvoliluki6938  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Thomas......yes we too are excited about The Bahamas! Finally crystal clear water! Stay tuned! Regarding lithium. Yes we talked about it, our solar system has been prewired for lithium however since we opted to upgrade to the AGM batteries from the factory, we've decided to use them until they're wearing out and at that time invest in waterer the latest lithium technology is at that time. For now we really don't have any power issues. Our solar system kicks butt usually hitting 100% on the batteries before noon and with the days getting longer as we head into Spring, we don't find ourselves running the generator much or at all.

    Very nice..... you have everything ready now for your quick trip over to us in Europe! You'll love the Med as you can get to see the 'usual' places such as France, Spain, Italy, and then the less 'usual' and more remote parts of Greece, etc., and then the really fun parts, such as Tunisia in North Africa, Egypt, Lebanon and Israel, all without leaving the Med! ......... Then, our favourite trip is to go down through the Suez Canal to see some of the most amazing parts and go through the Red Sea, to the Gulf of Aden with perhaps a stop off at places such as Djibouti and even Aden itself now.... but off Aden is the totally unique island of Socotra. You will never experience another place like that on earth. It's almost other-worldly alien in many way!
    Do something like that which is different to all the normal boring places which 99% of cruisers go to, such as the Bahamas, etc....
    It'll be an education for the boys which they will never forget.

      Hello Paul! Wow thank you for the great sailing itinerary ! We cannot wait to go!! We love all the places you mentioned and the new ones would be in the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden! Very cool and yes we are trying to show our boys the culture and traditions of every place we go. The Med is very high on our list and are very much looking forward to coming over!

    My husband and I truly love your videos. Very informative. Will definitely be going to Creative Canvas for our enclosures and the lounge seats. I do have two questions I was hoping you could answer. 1) How long did the process take from measurements, fabrication to install for your enclosures?
    2) What was the cost for your rooftop lounge set?
    Thank you!

    • @sailingsvoliluki6938
      @sailingsvoliluki6938  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lisa and Kevin, thank you for the kind compliment and we're happy the videos bring some value to your decision making process. Regarding the timeline for the enclosures, I want to say it was 1.5 weeks? I may be off on that by a little and it also depends on how busy they are but I will say Creative Canvas is a well run company and once they give you a timeline they pretty much stick to it. They do great work! The upper deck lounge was around $3,500. It has totally changed that space for us. We always found ourselves watching the sunrise or sunsets from up there so that's what drove us to spend the money and create a dedicated space......we love it! Congratulations on your boat and hope to see you out on the water one day! All the best and stay safe! ~Andy

    We are getting a L50 this Fall - Like what you did with oven...I assume you installed a microwave / convection combo unit. Noticed you kept the gas top instead of going convection top - worried on the reliance on electricity?

    • @gregb7353
      @gregb7353 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they have AGMs which my understanding is won't drive an induction cooktop for sure but I don't think it can handle a standard electric cooktop either. If it could, it would be a step down from gas unlike induction.

      Hi John, Congratulations on the L50! That is a gorgeous boat! Yes the oven we never ever used and the new drawers are a welcome addition. We don't use a microwave however we do have a countertop Delonghi Oven that is fantastic! We have an induction cooktop plate and decided at least for now to keep the gas cooktop just so all our cooking options aren't tied to the same basket.....electricity. Who knows at some point we may convert it to induction. Congratulations again on your L50.....you're going to LOVE IT! All the best and stay safe!

    Hello again. I had another question - if you don’t mind.
    In several earlier episodes, you went into detail regarding what options you had factory-fitted, and those you had done as after-market (mainly from Just Cats).
    Was wondering if you have a tabulated list of the same (with indicative prices) - or will I need to go over all those past episodes again and make notes this time around. Asking because if you already have a list, and are happy to share, it’ll save me some work 😊. I’ll post my email address here next time, depending on your response.
    Many thanks, and do stay well, and safe.

      Hi Mark! We decided when we first moved aboard the boat that we would NEVER let it get cluttered or messy. We really, really got rid of lots of things when we moved on the boat and then we got rid of several things that we even brought aboard the boat. We do not like clutter and in some ways think it's a safety issue to have so much stuff everywhere. It's just not our thing. We loved the Leopard boats for their performance, comfort but also the clean modern lines and interior materials and our goal is to keep her looking like a brand new boat forever. That requires work, but we're good with that!
