    For anyone looking to learn or refine power platform skills. I highly recommend Shane and his channel, as well as his website as a learning resource. I have been all over Google and TH-cam over the past 120 days or so and time and time again Shane has come through for me. I just signed up for his channel which is very reasonably priced for the content you get access to. But the main reason I feel compelled to recommend him is that he truly cares about his viewers. He has been more responsive to me on a non-paid plan than others that I signed up for in the past. So, Kudos to you, Shane!

    Nice work Shane! A video comparing "With" and "As" functions would be really great! Thank you for all the good videos

    That's the best explanation of "With" that I've seen. Good job, Shane.

    Great call out on some of the lesser known/used functions! I've been using With so much more thanks to you. Makes my code so much cleaner and easier to understand! Thank you for all you do.

    This was really good, Shane. The Coalease is one I do know about but haven't used in any App yet because I never properly understood it but its much much clearer after watching your video. The usecases with the Sequence and With functions deepened my understand as I've used them sparingly. I think I'll start using them more often. Thanks for making it look very simple to understand. 🤣🤣

    LOL. I discovered Coalesce in one of your videos recently and fell in love with it.

      I taught my 301 live class last week. We must have used Coalesce a dozen times. Such a useful function once you understand it. 🤩

    Great video! Something else about sequence is it allows one gallery to have multiple tables. Keeps the app clean when you use galleries instead of dropdowns

    The best way I've been using notify is when I run workflows from the app. If you use your run after failure setting effectively, then you can effectively put responses back into powerapps after each scope or action within your flow. That way if that step fails the user can know a little more about what the issue was before they just go straight to support saying the flow keeps failing with a generic message (which often are very hard for a frontline user understand / not in plain text). If you wrap the run code inside notify and the response is text, then .... you get the idea? It doesn't have to be only about failures though, you could have a workflow that 'grades a response' or does 'xyz' and has multiple branching... you can send back different messages to within notify depending on the output of the workflow - so long as each respond to powerapps action has the same variable name.

    hey cool i use the sequence in the following setup when i read out some specific gallary element, like Last(FirstN(blabla,thisrecord).value that might be a topic to cover for you.

    Great video, as always. Any tips on how to avoid delegation on using some of the functions (like add columns).

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nesting functions is about the best I have th-cam.com/video/iG8SjWtX1yM/w-d-xo.html Use something that is delegable inside a non delegable fucntion.

    Could the Mod have been included in the first With and the nested With was just a "teaching moment"? Or do they have to be separate functions.

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mod references the With output so it had to be nested in this case. :)

    Does As qualify as a fancy function? Does it work in a way that complements With, or am I associating two things unnecessarily? Any videos on. As? Thank you, @ShaneCows

      I think of As as a way to make looping and filtering formulas easier. Watch the video on Forall and you will see As in action. ForAll and other Functions in Power Apps

      I think this code answers my question, "Can you get this calculation to skip weekends"? However, I don't know where this fits into the With function.
