    Im actually surprised Donaire has fought this long. Mainly because of his fighting style. He relied heavily on athleticism. Usually when they lose a step, the decline is abrupt. This guy went back to his basics fundamentals and stretched out his career. What a legend.

      Donaire is a typical Bisaya☝Warrior⚔💪👊 stubborn asf. Inoue came out not only to win but to prove the doubters. His plan according to post fight press conference was to outbox him 1-4 and let him commit more and counter. Inoue intentionally opened up a little in 5,6 but Fulton didn’t give him the reaction he was hoping so opened up more in 7 and gave Fulton a few success. Y’all know what happened in 8. Fulton was dancing on Inoue’s floor all night. Dominate at it’s highest level.

    Inoue "holding back" is confirmed in his post-fight interview. Their game plan, as said by Inoue himself, was to out-box Fulton for 7 rounds and win on points every round, which I don't think anybody expected because we all believed that that would be playing to Fulton's advantage. So, the 8th round KO was more than likely by design. Confident that they won on the score cards for 7 rounds, Inoue no longer needed to hold back.

    • @noone-qu5ec
      @noone-qu5ec ปีที่แล้ว +26

      That’s actually a good game plan. To prove that Inoue is indeed a better fighter. He does not rely on hand wraps to dismantle his opponents. He needs to outclass then KO him in the end.

      @beejj6190 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bit of an odd perspective. *Inoue was simply focused on boxing v a bigger guy but just increased the attritional heat - and Fulton wilted* . i.e. You'd only say i've won 7 rounds so I'll go all out IF he other guy was clearly on the way out. Otherwise, if the opponent was still in the fight you risk geting countered or even KO'd (e.g. if he was bigger with good power).

      @@beejj6190actually what this dude wrote is bit wrong. What Inoue said after fight was that his plan was to outbox and win points round 1-4 and give no choice but Fulton to come foreword than counter him. Round 5 and 6 Inoue intentionally opened up a bit to bait Fulton but he was yet to commit so opened up more and gave him some success in round 7 and yea we all know what happened in round 8. The thing about Inoue landing that overhand right that people never mention is the fact that Fulton was actually on guard against it the entire match until that happened. He kept his guard high against those body stabs because he knew it was coming. Donaire was likely hired to give Fulton advice on Inoue since he was training in Philly with Bozy, and in an interview a few days before the fight, Donaire mentioned that Fulton would have to watch out for Inoue's overhand.
    So despite all of that preparation, Inoue still managed to find that crack in Fulton's armor by fishing him out. It's just too understated how smart and precise he is as a boxer.

      He wasn’t he predicted fulton to win. I watched the clip. He said his leaning on Fulton, which is logical. Fulton is heavier, bigger, and has longer reach. He stayed on that weight and has already proven himself on that division, hence the 2 belts and unbeaten record.
      While Inoue, although a highly talented boxer, went up to that weight. He needed to adjusted, he needed to defy the height and the reach of Fulton.
      Based on those facts alone it’s reasonable to lean on Fulton.
      But Inoue defied those odds. Yet again proving himself, outboxing Fulton in 7 rounds and knocking him out on the 8th.

      @@philipm5043there is a difference in physical odds and bookie favorites. Inoue was smaller then Fulton, Inoue's first fight at 122 with no tune up, has 3.5 inch reach disadvantage and don't forget the style, Inoue has never fought that style or spares any slick black fighters so yes Inoue was fighting against all the physical odds. Inoue was a bookie favorite because of his ko ratio and not because he has an advantage over Fulton. The only advantage Inoue had was the fight was happening in his home country nothing else, heck Fulton team even did not allow Inoue to wrap hands the way he always does there so take that as another disadvantage. The ref and judges were not Japanese too..

Most of the time in USA, it's all about passion in sport & making money, not as much as survivor since there are many other options in making money. Notice Donaire speaking, notice his voice, his tone, his mind thinking from head & back? His speech is a little cluster. Those are the sign of head injury & they don't know that & even their love ones do not notice it since they are closed with them daily. But people don't see them often can only see the different. It's like my dad, I can see his decline extremely fast. That is why everyone must be with someone you love as much as you can especially seniors & people who has condition that cannot cured.
