No, Jonghyun's vocals are absent in the music video, they recorded a different version for it and his lines are sung by Taemin. He's only on the official audio. Their voices can sound pretty similar sometimes and this is one of those songs :D
Thanks for reacting to this. Jonghyun had an accident so he wasn't able to record the music video. The members had to record again with Taemin covering his parts. But Jonghyun was able to join the promotions towards the end and was able to be part of the live shows.
Their live performance of this song is incredible under the heavy storm and rain in HK and also sang Everybody under the heavy rain in SM town concert. Under the rain they still danced and sang without hesitating. All their live performances were legendary.
I remember this and beautiful performance in HK. That was amazing.
Taemin sang Jjong's parts in the MV. As Jjonh helped him vocally and in singing, you will notice that on certain occasions Taem sounds similar to Jjong :)
I really like the harmonizations of this song, when they sing live it's fantastic. Next you can check out 'Dream Girl' from _The Misconceptions of You_ I think you will like it! Or 'Married to the Music', its a like a halloween (?) track, the video is funny, or you can check the choreo version, its very fun! Thank you for the reaction!
Jonghyun was in a car accident so he couldn't join the promos for WSS (or the MV recording) but he's still on the recorded track so you can hear him on the album.
maybe you should try Dream Girl MV next, it has that scratchy type of bass that you like
and if you want something more powerful/dark/cool you should try their b-sides on Misconception Of Us album, like Nightmare, Dynamite, Evil

Also since they re-recorded the song for the MV sans Jonghyun, Taemin received all of his lines, so it's not that you didn't recognize his voice before, Jonghyun's voice is only featured on the album version of the song (and if you didn't see my previous comment, it's because he was in a car accident).

Ha, ha, no need to be disappointed in yourself Aaron, you didn’t recognize Jonghyun’s voice because he’s not singing in the MV and it’s Taemin who sings all those parts, including high note (btw, he did such a good job and this rock-ish kind of singing totally fits his voice). I really like Why So Serious, like that it’s so lighthearted, but the instrumental leans into more heavy, rock stylistic. Like you said it’s bright and energetic, always gets me into good mood :) I’m glad you liked it as well!

Also, Jonghyun was injured at the time the MV was filmed so he didn't appear and the members had to sing his part for the MV

I'm one of the people that recommend this song because you were so delight with Taemin's sound quality in Atlantis especially in the beginning when his voice raspier than usual. Just so you know that Taemin's voice already has that rock/metal quality to it since long ago.

Even Jonghyun absence for this track as he got into a car accident, he still appear in the rest of the album for B-sides. Also, you should react to Dream Girl since it's part one of the album "Misconception" series or even it's B-sides. Both part one for "light and joy" vibe mix with part two "dark and fear" concept is playing well and this is underated album for me.
