Well as the NBA becomes more and more international and closer to soccer each year, it will be harder and harder to find an American face of the league.
We won't have to ask who the face of the league is when he arrives. It'll be undeniable (Bron, Kobe, Magic, Jordan, Bird) Those guys have carried face of the league over a 40 year span
I also think we are thirsty and reaching for an American "face of the league", but the best players in the league are from overseas. Jokic, Luka, even Wemby is coming. We aren't used to the best players not being American, so we have headlines like this.
One day it's Tatum, then it's Ja, then it's Ant. We never had to question if it was Bron or Kobe.

@MikeMike-qb6oy jokic can't speak English. You have to atleast speak the language of the country. He's not the face and never will be the face. The media can't force people to like what they don't like. There was a time when players like Tim Duncan was respected by his peers but there were some fans and ppl in the media who thought he had no personality and had a boring style of play. Which is why he was never in the face conversation even as he was winning rings just as much as kobe and in the eyes of most in NBA circles Duncan retired the best power forward ever. Yet, he wasn't mentioned in those conversation. Ppl just want to make the jokic thing more than it is. Just like Duncan, not everyone is gonna like jokic style and his dull personality. You have to be appealing to a broader audience. Let's also not forget jokic fans always claiming how jokic doesn't want to be the face, but they will turn around, get on the internet and act as though there's some kind of conspiracy out against jokic as the reason he's not the face or talked about more.
