Hi there, i think you are only allowed to draw in the settlement on boxes you have already unlocked, and that would trigger you to enchance that construction.
Lol..I was thinking the same thing.. why would you be able to draw on the far right when you have not unlocked the squares yet. Sigh..
Oooh I didn't realize that there were different/ unique village sheets included! I'll have to take another look at this one. :)

I paid £5 postage costs to get this game and now regret buying a £15 dud!
Either the rules are badly written or I am stupid!
To be honest,I don't think playing it solo helps.
Maybe a solo/two player honestly run effort might improve the game play.
I agree playing as two players may be helpful to grasp the gameplay! Then you can play solo afterwards, making the necessary rule changes to play solo. :) good luck!!

Weird that the rules for the multiplayer mode is easier to play.
I am impatient and like to get started as soon as I can after receiving a game so rules count a lot.
Anyway, thank you for understanding and I apologize if I sounded harsh re:solo mode, no reflection on your play whatsoever ...to the contrary,my eagerness and annoyance at my own stupidity!
