I can so relate to this story, there is nothing like the feeling you get when you're up in front of a crowd and the auction starts. It's my comfort zone. This is a career that is EXREMELY fun & you can make a living doing it. Very inspirational story, thanks for sharing.
I'm a Texan of 40 years , I've heard some mighty fine auctioneering in my life. Each auctioneer has their own style , Ike you got the juice ! I specialize in computer hardware and software Ike. Sometimes I need old stuff to make 3D computer models. It looks like your auction place could be useful.
I remember when this was called "4 Country Reporter" years ago on KDFW Channel 4, then it moved to Channel 8 and changed it's name to 8 Country Reporter, then later on...Texas Country Reporter. They don't make great TV like this for network broadcast anymore. Love watching the great stories from around this great state.
"When I hit seventy, I said, 'It's time to try something else'". That's why Ike is still going strong. Great inspiration for a forty-something like me. I hope you live a loooong life, Ike!
My grandfather is an auctioneer, My father is an auctioneer, our auction hall looks the same and was an old car repair place. Sometimes people just come to see our family yell at eachother.
I gotta say this guy isn't the best i've heard, BUT....he has a lot of heart and he is very very good. I can say after hearing him I would hire him. He is no A.P. IDSO, my grandad, BUT....he is very good and has a lot of heart!
