This is so practical and helpful!😄 I'm currently a couple of weeks away from taking the CPC exam for the first time and your videos are so relevant and encouraging! I feel like I'm grasping the major concepts much better now👍 Thank you so much for doing this for free! I really appreciate it!
Mam could you please upload guidelines and practise questions on medicine please as Iam having my exam after 2weeks could you please upload before that
Thank you very much. CPC is an open book exam. You must have CPT, ICD and HCPCS level II books. For self review I would suggest studying guidelines and practice solving questions from each chapter, also AAPC study guides are the best. In my channel videos, I have uploaded all the required content to successfully clear CPC exam. Good luck 👍🏻
Mam confusing this question please answer me mam A patient with scoliosis has posterior arthrodesis performed on three ceryical vertebral segments. What CPT coding is reported?
22600: Arthrodesis, posterior or posterolateral technique, single level; cervical below C2 segment. +22614: Each additional vertebral segment (list separately in addition to code for primary procedure) - you would use this code twice for the additional two segments.
I mentioned page 376 so that you can see colonoscopy definition. Modifier 52 is used for reduced service, which is correct for that question. CPT modifier 53 for discontinued procedure indicates that a surgical or diagnostic procedure was started but discontinued.
Modifier 52: Indicates reduced services, used when a procedure is partially reduced by choice rather than due to complications. It’s more for situations where part of the procedure is intentionally not performed. Since Modifier 53 is the appropriate choice for an incomplete colonoscopy due to patient safety or complications, the correct answer to the question is D. None of the above.
Please don't get confused. In the case of an incomplete colonoscopy where the patient was prepared for a full colonoscopy, modifier 52 is appropriate because it indicates that the service was reduced but not due to an emergency or risk to the patient. Modifier 53 would be used if the procedure was stopped due to an unforeseen risk or complication during the procedure. I hope it's clear
