    So beautiful how this takes up a tiny fraction of the space that an equivalent highway/ lane expansion/ interchangeable would take up.

    Fantastic footage! I don't even live in Florida, but I really enjoy these updates! I think passenger rail is an incredibly important step towards a climate friendly future and I am happy to see this project actually getting off the ground.
    It's interesting as another poster noted how there's an 8 (?) lane stroad right next to the station that takes up substantially more space than the rail stop next to it. I hope that future demand will allow Florida to shrink that road down and let Brightline create a pedestrian crossing to the mall, rather than having to invest thousands/millions into an overpass.

    Another excellent video and construction is coming along great ! As I've said before, Brightline is going to be a game changer in Florida for travel from north to south and back. Can't wait until the next phase of construction starts to Tampa and beyond. Brightline is doing things right and the buildings, trainsets and tracks are beautiful. Thank you for your hard work in documenting this great event.

    I hope brightline extends into America like a disease. I hope they connect up to Jacksonville and Atlanta and Charlotte. And if the company has financial issues I hope they get bailed out by the gov. They are doing such an important job. Hope they keep it up.

    Always the best coverage of the construction progress of Brightline...I wish there was as good of coverage of the construction of the high speed rail in California.

    Sir, thanks for this video. I had the opportunity to ride Brightline last week, from Miami to WPB, which was a great experience. Sat next to a business guy doing real estate; he indicated to have a Mercedes S-class as a ride but would now use Brightline only for his regular trips to Miami saving him ,two hours and a lot of head ache each direction‘ I think Brightline should use him for commercials… and on top of that he had two Jack and Ginger for free (we rode business class)
    On another note, this update covers the existing leg only. How about stations between Orlando and WPB? None planned or under construction? Melbourne or Fort Pierce would be worthwhile destinations.

      Brightline's goal is to reach Orlando first before looking at additional stations along the route.

    This just shows what's capable when a freight company works completely with a private passenger operator, both visionary to be frank unlike the rest of America regarding high speed train travel

    As always excellent video. I hope that everything is well with you. Looking forward to seeing brightline complete these projects of orlando, Aventura, and boca raton before moving on to the next phase which I guess is either brightline west, the commuter rail for south Florida, or going through Orlando to Disney and Tampa.

    So will they add another siding for the second platform at the Boca Raton station?

  • @armandoperez7967

    This would look beautiful along South Dixie Hwy in the southern part of Miami Dade County instead of a horrendous busway! To add insult to injury, the busway has railroad style crossing gates, e-bells, and lights, with only the crossbucks and rxr signs missing!

    Why are BrightRed and BrightPink going on the same track in opposite directions?

    • @RoamingRailfan

      The tracks are signaled for use in both directions so the dispatcher must of had a reason

    Thank you for the update - for the second station why did they only build one platform? How will Bright-line run it service until the second platform gets built?

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I believe there was something to do with relocating utilities and some other infrastructure on the other side of the right of way that delayed the second platform but one platform at least gets them started. Their schedule only has one train in this area at a time so a single platform is fine for the time being.

    I will definitely use this stop when going to the mall, do you know if there will be a shuttle?

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      There will probably be some kind of Brightline+ offering to the mall

  • @Grafzee

    In the first portion of the video you explained that there would eventually be a pedestrian overpass over Biscayne Blvd. to connect to the Aventura Mall (the main attraction to this station/stop). In the second portion there was no mention of a similar pedestrian overpass to connect the station to Mizner Park (the main attraction of that station/ stop). I know it would be difficult due to existing buildings and that it would have to cross Dixie Highway and Federal Highway, but do you know if there is any future plans on that. Without a safe connection it is difficult to cross those two busy roadways as a pedestrian. Thx, great video.

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have never seen any mention of an additional pedestrian bridge at Boca Raton.

    Thanks. Is the Aventura Brightline platform length the same as Ft Lauderdale/West Palm. It looks like a 4 car platform.

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Both platforms combined are the same length as the others but the high level portion itself is about half as long.

    Will the Brightline stations have a local bus connection and what kind of numbers of daily passengers are expected for them?

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There probably will be a transit connection but most passengers are likely to use one of the Brightline+ options for the first/last mile. Brightline has not released any ridership predictions.
