Cycling has been a very important and effective means of communication that has resulted in some deep and lasting bonds for Mapei. Cadel Evans joined the Mapei-Quickstep Cycling Team in 2002 and continued training at the Mapei Sports Facility in Varese, Italy; his relationship with Mapei continues to date.
