I must admit that watching the 📺 cut of Halloween 2, has been a guilty pleasure of mine for years. The editing decisions that were made are genuinely head-scratching. At the same time, it does fill in the gaps of certain plot holes.
I watched the TV version when I was 6 on my own while my mam was sewing in the kitchen, id seen the vhs before with her though. It used to be free on TH-cam but was gone when I went to watch it. Great stream as always guys 😊👍💜🐾
Great idea for a stream! The TV cut has some very weird editing in certain places but also some advantages narratively. It has the Elrod scene take place after Brackett is informed of Annie’s death. This makes more sense because the TV in the Elrod house shows the reporter talking about the teenagers that Michael killed. The placement of this scene in the theatrical cut seems like a continuity error because surely Brackett would know of his daughter’s death before news reporters would. Something I’ve noticed but I’m not sure if it’s been confirmed is that during the dream sequence in the TV cut the voice they added for young Laurie sounds like Debra Hill.
If someone could put together a cut of both the Theatrical & the TV Cut; including the parts of the TV cut that lend more clarity to the narrative whilst keeping the sharper, smoother edits of the Theatrical & all the kills - now that might be the ultimate cut of Halloween II.
This is tv cut was my first halloween movie experience as a lad. Wish the movie version retained those extra hospital clips to explain the lights and Laurie's drugged state.
@TSLMoviePodcast Yes. H2 is still tops for me though, even with its little flaws. Great follow up to 78, super creepy Michael, Loomis on his A game, and over the top bits like poor Ben Tramer. It's 🔥!
Have you guys ever seen the true TV version of Halloween on the 4 by 3 aspect ratio there's so much different stuff going on not just the inserted scenes you should try to find that and watch that next. There is different music cues and even when Michael comes out to the sidewalk to stare at Lori when she walks away there's a stinger there in the music
@TSLMoviePodcast I'm talking about the original 1978 Halloween I have the VHS they released by accident it's in different order has different music cues has different Stingers have you ever seen that one
H2 is the best sequel but overtime guys i dont know why but less I like the opening theme - far too synth, original theme is best followed by the 2018 one.
They would probably need the camera negative to do that and rumor is all the remaining cut footage even scenes not in the TV cuts have been destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire though it's just a rumor!
I'm watching this on the replay it's one of your best streams ever I'm laughing so hard. Love when Bud says I tell no lies
Awesome live this guys! Really good fun! You had me n steph cracking up 🤣🤣 XX

The TV version such a fascinating cracked mirror version of Halloween II that I genuinely like to watch this version sometime

@@mychunkyjordi7585 thanks Chunky
Every live show I'm stuck in my damn office!
Apparently Loomis did originally shoot the Martial and if you look closely you can see a puff of smoke but it was edited out in the TV cut!
Interesting

Could be
Fun watch along
When Maryann Chambers voice is dubbed in helium reminds me of the cheap dubs they do for Joe Pesci for tv with Casino and Goodfellas
I’ve always wanted the Theatrical version spliced with some of the TV Clips, for the ultimate HALLOWEEN II experience.. 🎃
@@ChAMiLLiTaRyCwaLMOB that would be cool

Really enjoyable stream lads. Jimmy looks like the Night Stalker sitting in the back at the end of the movie 😂 Creepy fecker.
I think some of this is from the OG H2 which Carpenter changed to have more violence. I laughed my ass of at 6 with all the word changes 🤣🤣
Michael Myers tribe
9:21 Tommy yogi bear Wallace is back 😂 👍
My favorite lmao
You should do the H20 tv version next if you can there's some funny scenes in that one too.
Thought my collection came with the tv cut I was wrong and confused🤣
You’ll get the gist watching the show. We show most of the different scenes
My dog Ziggy won't touch tripe 🤣🤣
He has sense. We say tripe in the north east meaning crap 👍😊💜🐾
🤣

@@foroneanotherwinningtogeth1142 yeah, it would have made for a slightly better experience

Laurie's Wig gets to much screen time in the TV version of Halloween 2 compared to the Theatrical Cut 😂😂😂

@@vanderhoff66fu that’s the one we were using. We just couldn’t show the whole movie. I had to use select scenes for the stream.

I'm sure the TV shots were in 235 aspect ratio I'm surprised they didn't make a version of that all correct
I think the more recent TV versions on BluRay are 2:35. I used my old scream factory version from 2014
@@TSLMoviePodcast even that version is 4 * 3 it's never been released in 235
In theory Michael could still have some rope on hand to strangle Bud, too.
True

Great stream. Shut up!! 😂
The TV cut shows how important editing is. The editing is the worse I’ve ever seen from a large studio.
