1.Ramjanmabhoomi - Ayodhya -destroyed-Babri Masjid-Built
Every hindu knows about it.
The Masjid was built by Mir Baqi , one of the Moghul king Babar’s generals destroying the existing temple and building masjid over it.
The place is Ayodhya. Hindus believe that Lord ram was born here.
Now the dispute is over and the foundation stone for construction of Ram mandir is in progress.
2.Kashi vishwanath temple-Varanasi - destroyed- Gyanvapi Mosque-Built
The temple now in existence is not the real vishwanath temple. The original Jyotirlinga of Kashi Vishwanath is not available. Original Jyotirlinga was destroyed by Moghul emporers lot of times.
Lastly it was destroyed by Aurangazeb in 1669 and built Gyanavapi Mosque in its place.
3.Krishna janmabhoomi temple - Mathura - Destroyed- Shahi Idga Mosque-built
Also called as Kesavadeo Temple is said to have built by Lord Krishna’s grand son, Vajra. It is also said to be birth place of Lord Krishna. It was upgraded by Chandragupta II , around 400AD.
It was first demolished in 1017 AD by unknown Muslim invaders and re built by Bir Singh Bundela. It was destroyed by Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb around 1670 and Shahi Idagh mosque built above the above temple.
What we are seeing to day is the fourth temple, but most Hindus are dissatisfied that it is not the original temple builby by grandson of Lord Kirshna.
4.Rudra Mahalaya -Sidhpur -Destroyed-Jami Masjid- Built
It was located in Sidhpur of Patan districted in Gujarat.
It was built by sidhraj Jaisinh in 12 th. century.
the temple was dismantled by Alludding Khilji between 1410-1444 and built a masque called jama masjid.
5. Bhojshaala - Dhar dist. MP-Destroyed-Kamal Maula Mosque- Built
It was the temple of Mata Sarswati.
It was built in 1034 Raja Bhoj and is situated in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
The village name itself is Bhojshala , which was capital or Raja Bhoj.
It was attacked by Allauddin Khilji in 1305 and demolished the temple.
A masjid was build near by.
Before 12th March,1997, Hindus were allowed to take darshan but were not allowed to perform puja.
CM Digvijay Singh issued a draconian allowing Muslims to offer Namaz in Bhojshala on every Friday and barred Hindus even from entering Bhojshala.
However, Hindus are now allowed only one day on Vasantha Panchami to enter the perform puja in Bhaojshala.
6.Adinath Temple- Pandua-WB-Destroyed-Adina Mosque-Built
Situated in Pandua in West Bengal , it is said to be temple of Lord shiva.
Mosquie is built by Sikandar Shah 1358- 90 AD.
7.Bhadra Kali temple- Ahmedabad-Destroyed-Jama Masjid-Built
It was originally a Bhadra Kali temple in the city of Ahmedabad built by Rajput Paramar Singh of Malwah of Rajasthan.
Ahmedabad’s orignal Name was Bhadra, Karnavati,Raj Nagar and Asaval in different eras.
It was demolished in1424 by Ahmed shah 1.
8. Vijay Temple- Vidisha -MP- Destroyed - Bijamandal Mosque-Built
It was located in Vidisha, 60KM from Bhopal, built by earstwhile Paramar Kings.
It was of Goddess Charchika or Vijaya.
It was demolished by Aurangazeb around 1700 and built the Bijamandal Mosque.
9. Somnath temple- restored
Located near Veraval in Gujarat, demolished by Ghajini in 1026 and restored in 1951 By Govt. of India.
Sardar Patel initiated the move but he was dead before the completion.
10.Dhruv Stambh -Delhi- destroyed-Qutub Minar Built
Qutub Minar was actually Dhruv Stambh or vishnu Dhawj that existed even before the times of King Vikramaditya.
But it was demolished between 1191-1210 and built qutub Minar by Qutubuddin eibak.
There used to be number of Hindu and Jain temples in that area.
A first step has been taken by laying foundation stone at Ayodhya.
Let us the path will be followed regarding other temples also. JAI HIND...
