So my friend from elementary school dressed up as Hermione Granger in fifth grade and the thing is... she looked like 1st year Hermione Granger and her name is Emma.
I am completely in love with the original cast, but I would love to see Sir Ian McKellan or Morgan Freeman as Dumbledore because they are both such great actors and it would be great to see a black Dumbledore after Hermione was played by a black actress in Cursed Child so it's all about diversity, Judi Dench as McGonagall because she's so elegant and refined, but also sassy and badass, Adam Driver as Snape because he also played Kylo Ren who has a similar back story and journey and is just a great actor, James McAvoy as Quirrel because I've never seen him play that kind of character, David Harbour as Hagrid because he's fought monsters in Stranger Things so he has that mindset down, plus he's a gentle giant, Cate Blachett as Petunia because she has the same regal, cool, no nonsense, but still caring, air, Elijah Wood as Harry because DUH they have the same journey with pain and growth and danger, either Tessa Netting or Millie Bobby Brown as Hermione because they're both amazing.

I've been writing a HP pilot script as a hobby for the past 4 years. I have it as a television show as well BUT I have it as an Animated Series. If you want a HP reboot done, you can't make it like the live action films. You can't ever replace Dan, Rupert, and Emma as the Trio. You can't replace Alan Rickman as Snape. It's impossible. It would beneficial to let it be Animated so you can design the characters to be book accurate as possible. Also, there's tons in the book that wouldn't translate well in live action. Bat Bogey hex, Peeves, Deathday party, certain spells. But in an Animated medium, it can work. If HP were a live action series.
